About New Leaf Detox and Treatment

New Leaf Detox and Treatment provides substance use recovery for adults 18 and older in Laguna Niguel, California. The levels of care that the facility offers includes detox, residential treatment and outpatient care.

Customized Treatment in Laguna Niguel

New Leaf believes that each person is unique and that a generic approach to recovery won’t always work. At the center, guests receive personalized care that caters to their individual needs. One of the tools they provide is medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help clients struggling with opioid or alcohol addiction.

It combines medication with counseling to support your recovery. They use FDA-approved medicines to reduce drug cravings and lessen withdrawal symptoms so guests can focus on healing without distractions. While using medications can help alleviate discomfort, they won’t address the underlying conditions that may have led to addiction.

Clients attend therapy sessions to work through past traumas and challenges that may contribute to substance use. They can also learn to recognize substance use triggers, develop healthy coping skills and avoid relapse pitfalls that frequently occur during the first few months after treatment.

Incorporating Holistic Therapies

New Leaf also incorporates holistic therapies that target the mental, physical and emotional aspects of recovery. The types of treatment staff members may include in your recovery are physical therapy and yoga. These treatments may help reduce stress, provide mental clarity and support physical healing.

At New Leaf, guests are treated to meals prepared by a chef, serene surroundings, recreational activities and comfortable living areas. The residential location is near the Pacific coastline, which is ideal for continued relaxation and recovery.

I spent 32 days at New Leaf, and it ended up being the first time in a long time that I stopped running and actually looked at myself. This wasn’t just about not drinking. The team here helped me understand why I drank, what I’d been carrying, and what needed to change if I wanted a different life. They paid attention to who I am and tailored things to what I actually needed. The therapists were thoughtful and direct. The medical team was steady and kind. The nurses checked on me constantly. Even the groups, yoga, and sound sessions felt intentional instead of filler. Every single person here cares in a way that’s real and obvious. The biggest thing I’m leaving with is a sense of clarity and tools to keep going. And the community you build with the other people here matters more than I expected. New Leaf gave me space to do deep work on myself and a foundation to take the next step. I’m grateful for my time at New Leaf. Thank you ❤️

Thank you for sharing this — it’s incredibly meaningful to read. We’re grateful that your 32 days at New Leaf gave you the space, support, and clarity you were looking for. Our team really does try to meet each person where they are, so hearing that the therapists, medical staff, nurses, and groups all connected with you in a real way means a lot.

The work you described — slowing down, looking inward, and understanding the “why” behind everything — is not easy, and you deserve a lot of credit for showing up for yourself. We’re glad you’re leaving with clarity, tools, and a sense of community. That foundation matters.

Thank you again for the kind words. We’re wishing you strength and momentum as you take your next steps. ❤️

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Participants engaged in 12 step programs receive intensive peer coaching (sponsorship) and community support. Spiritual development as a means of achieving psychological and emotional healing and growth is the cornerstone of 12 step recovery, but religious affiliations are not required. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public, though specialized formats are available, including groups for seniors, teens, and family members. Evening, night, and day meetings are conducted year-round in most communities.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Rational behavior therapy supports addiction recovery by helping you identify and challenge irrational beliefs that fuel substance abuse and addiction. Using cognitive restructuring and emotional regulation techniques, you learn to manage stress, reduce your cravings, and maintain sobriety.

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.
