Going to this program made me worse and exposed me to more behaviors than I needed. I was a resident in 2021 and have made more progress since leaving the program.A lot of medical neglect, appointments were not handled well here. There is not good treatment it only met my basic needs and they need more community based programs to handle treatment.I m now in a different program in ny where it is stable and healthy enough. Offers many programs and Opportunities to thrive. I got my permit, license and a job. I am stable enough to work in a resteraunt. In Parsons programs this would ve been impossible. I was so anxious 24/7 and on alert because of how toxic and mismanaged parsons was for me. It deteriorated my mental health and wasn t able to provide me with the resources I needed to thrive. All I can say is I am glad I left and if your looking into this program I would rethink it being most girls/boys come out worse. There are good programs out there just not this one.

This organization is an embarrassment to quality mental health professionals EVERYWHERE as they re rude on the phone, incredibly slow to follow up on medication refill requests and after over a year of patronage here, I ve gone through 4 therapists because they cannot keep staffing levels acceptable to save their own lives. Recently I had an issue with a refill request that I made on a Monday morning for medications that were already empty and needed the refills asap. After checking with my pharmacy to see if they were sent and finding out they were not, I continued to call on Tuesday and Wednesday. By the time Thursday came I was completely out of medication and I called again and asked to speak to a nurse. The nurse called me back an hour later and informed me that my doctor who manages my medications was on vacation and that only the doctor could send in the refills. I told the nurse this was unacceptable and that I needed my medications to filled asap. She showed me no empathy whatsoever and told me to deal with it. I then called the director whom I ve dealt with on several occasions (most which where she ll usually fail to call or email back) and left her a message. No call back. Then I sent her an email explaining my situation and that I was at the end of my rope with the terrible quality of their services and that I had just submitted a complaint to the NYS DOH Office of Professional Medical Conduct.About an hour later, after receiving no call back from anyone and no email reply from the director, my pharmacy called me to say that the refills had been received.Awfully funny how that works when I was first told that the refills couldn t be sent due to my doctor s absence to doing exactly what I asked you to do just days earlier.Sadly, this isn t the first time something like this has happened and if I ended up staying here as a patient, it certainly wouldn t have been the last. This place is terrible, stay far away!Parsons Child & Family and Northern Rivers are not organizations you want to deal with. Save yourself the frustration and find an organization that actually cares and supports their patients.

Accepted Insurance

Parsons Family Center – Healy House works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer an intermediate level of care for clients who do not require the kind of intensive supervision and support an inpatient program typically provides. Many clients transition into outpatient care immediately after exiting inpatient treatment. Others enter outpatient programs upon completing detox. Some facilities offer ambulatory medical detox for clients who do not require hospitalization. Most outpatient rehabs offer a combination of services, including addiction counseling, life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
The partial hospitalization program (PHP) level of care offers short-term, intensive rehab for individuals with acute symptoms that require focused management but don't require 24/7 care. PHP treatment provides structured programming (i.e. individual and group therapy) and allows you to return home in the evening. PHP treatment typically meets weekly for a minimum of 20 hours with the duration typically averaging 90 days. While PHP treatment cost can vary, it is often covered by most providers.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients who enroll in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) are typically either in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that increases their relapse risk. These programs promote clients' sustained sobriety through robust support, including multiple, extended care sessions per week. Intensive outpatient treatment often encompasses an array of services, including psychotherapy, recovery education, and evidence-based holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and meditation. Many outpatient rehabs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox involves weaning your body off of addictive substances in a medically supervised environment. If you've become dependent on alcohol and/or drugs, quitting on your own can be uncomfortable and even dangerous. In medically assisted detox, a team of licensed medical professionals will help manage potential withdrawal symptoms, ensuring that you're as safe and comfortable as possible. This process typically takes about 5-7 days, although the length will depend on your individual needs.

Treatments

program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New York is a short term therapeutic method used to treat substance use and mental health disorders. CBT typically lasts from five to 20 sessions, based on the individual's needs.

During dialectical behavior therapy in New York, you and your therapist will look for triggers and patterns that are guiding your emotions. This involves keeping a diary of your emotions and situations and sharing this each week with the therapist. This information will determine what you work on in each session.

definitely only like my therapist. They have such rude staff. There is only one nice lady in the front who actually explains things to you. The people in this facility forget CLIENTS needs at the most important thing there. If you are a nurse, or a doctor working in a hospital they would’ve tried anyway possible to accommodate the clients needs. I was on and off medication due to my miscarriage. My damn obgyn had more checkups and still has checked on me more then this MENTAL facility. I honestly do not think the place is a bad place but the staff all besides one lady are very rude, dismissive, and unapologetic. Not even one of the staffs there has even apologized for any inconveniences that they caused. Instead of trying to accommodate the clients need they literally act as if it’s not their problem… I get it certain things aren’t but at least making sure all clients needs are met. If medication is what the doctors think I need … and I can’t stop abuprtly then why do the staff here constantly shrug their shoulders and make it seem as if medicine that they have been taken for weeks won’t drastically effect their personality, as well as body function. There are so many symptoms that can happen to a person .. and the lack of empathy for a job where you should be sympathetic and understanding towards the patients needs has me absolutely dumbfounded by they way I was spoken too. Do not recommend…🤗 only gave two stars because my therapist there is a wonderful person and has helped me a lot , but anything outside those sessions have been distasteful and leaves me super frustrated!

I would never recommend this facility to anyone. They let my daughter be kidnapped by her Father, than plays dumb when reading court order. I do wonder the education level of their "legal" team. The person who runs the RTF, cause damages to families in order to push them out within 6 months. Not addressing the whole issue, including drug use, (actually telling my daughter it's normal teenage behavior to do drugs, as my daughter will drink a 5th without batting an eye) and being held accountable for her actions. They have caused WAY MORE DAMAGE THAN GOOD. AND THEY REFUSE TO HOLD THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE DAMAGE SHE HAS SINGLE HANDED CAUSE MY FAMILY. Do not trust the "family advocate" she only advocates for Parson's self serving purposes and WILL NOT ADVOCATE FOR YOU OR YOUR FAMILY. I wouldn't trust these people to to provide mental health services to a dead RAT! The only reason they are even still open, is there's legit NO WHERE ELSE in the Hudson Valley district. OMH needs to better. Parsons is failing our children and families. All excuses, zero results or answers on why the LACK of treatment provided.

I went there it was better when it was by parsons alone. I loved it at Neil Hellman I was there from 2003 Until 2006 when I graduated from there.

This place is a joke . They do nothing to help the child. They set the children up to fail . They refuse to work with the parents and county workers . The things the staff say to the kids is way out of line . Staff changes so much you never know who's working with your child. The education is a joke at best . I wouldn't leave these people in charge of dead animals.
