Pathway House - Men's Program MN 55902

About Pathway House

Pathway House provides drug free, supported living for adults in the Rochester, Minnesota, area. They offer a variety of gender specific programs based on the 12 Steps that help participants return to good physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.

Pathway House- Men’s Program provides sober living and transitional care.

Sober Living is for those who need a highly structured living arrangement. Oftentimes it is available for those who have completed a residential or inpatient treatment program but who are not yet ready to return home. At Pathway House, they provide 24/7 supervised care with a licensed counselor on call. Screening and assessments are provided to begin the process. This allows for individual treatment plans to be created for every man who enters their program. By living with others who are committed to living a sober lifestyle, the home serves as a community support system while continuing deep in the recovery process before moving home.

Each week, 16 hours of group therapy will be offered to all who live at the Pathway House. Additionally, client education, crisis interventions, collateral services, peer support, alcohol and drug testing, medical referrals, and psychiatric referrals will be offered. Alcohol and drug testing will be performed to ensure compliance with the program.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psychoeducation, and more.

Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.

The treatment I received from Jasmine a counselor at pathways during my time in the program. I am deeply concerned about the unprofessional behavior, discriminatory actions, and lack of empathy I encountered, which significantly worsened my experience and made my time in treatment unnecessarily difficult.Firstly, I experienced a disturbing level of favoritism from Jasmine as I was consistently singled out in a way that felt both unfair and unprofessional. It became apparent that certain individuals were treated with more kindness and respect, while I was made to feel alienated and disrespected. This favoritism impacted not only my mental health but also my trust in the treatment process.Additionally, Jasmine demonstrated behavior that I perceive as racially discriminatory. There were several instances where I felt singled out in a manner that was hostile and dismissive, which only deepened the feeling of being unwelcomeand unsupported during a challenging time in my life. Moreover, as a pregnant individual, I had specific food restrictions and medical needs that were crucial for my health and well-being. However, Jasmine failed to respect these restrictions, and there were multiple occasions where I was either provided with inappropriate food options or was disregarded when I expressed my concerns. This lack of care and attention to my medical needs was both troubling and unacceptable.Throughout my treatment, I found Jasmine to be unpleasant, dismissive, and unsympathetic, making an already difficult experience even harder to endure. The unprofessionalism and neglect I faced created an environment where I felt unsupported and demoralized rather than encouraged to heal.I believe that all patients deserve to receive compassionate, respectful, and professional care, and unfortunately, my experience with Jasmine did not meet these basic standards.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs typically provide a full continuum of care both for clients in early recovery and for those who are well advanced in their recovery journey. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Many outpatient facilities offer evening, night, and weekend services, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training, to accommodate clients' work and family schedules.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically enter inpatient rehab after they complete detox. Inpatient care is also designed for clients who are experiencing a crisis and are at an increased risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment center for the duration of their program. Clients engage in intensive addiction counseling, often using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other proven modalities. Many inpatient rehabs offer recovery-focused life skills training. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and yoga, may be included.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide robust, wraparound care for clients who have completed detox and/or intensive inpatient rehab. Their services may vary widely, but typically include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, career counseling, and related community reintegration services. The client's case manager and recovery team coordinates with the client to identify the rehab aftercare services they need to promote their sustained sobriety.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Withdrawal from alcohol and drugs can be uncomfortable - even dangerous - without the proper medical supervision. The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is with a medically supervised detox where a team of on-site medical professionals can monitor your health and progress 24/7, then administer medications (like Suboxone or Vivitrol) if necessary to mitigate symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy in Minnesota can help you understand yourself and your partner better and identify the issues causing stress in the relationship. From finances to addiction to children, you'll learn skills to deal with various stressors and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Id give this place -100 stars if possible. My brother is there currently and the food is making people sick. They do not help for mental or physically. They make people even more sick than they already are and do not provide the right services people need to heal and recover.

When I left both times my things weren't given back to me. I've had things stolen there as well. When clients leave, their stuff is set out and can be looked through by other clients and stolen.
