My husband had to have several blood transfusions. Nurse Mary was the best. She went out of her way to always have what was needed there and ready for us. She also made sure we were comfortable while we were there. I will never be able to thank her enough for how great she was to my husband and me during his last days. We need more people like her in our world today.

Beauterre Recovery truly changed my life. Drew was the best counselor I could have ever asked for, he went above and beyond and truly helped me grow and change. Tim and Josh are fantastic directors who really care, and the front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. The nurses are absolutely amazing, special shoutout to Robin, Lisa, and Jerome for always being kind, patient, and supportive. Anytime I needed something, staff were right there to help me solve the problem. On top of that, the community here is incredible. I made awesome connections with people who genuinely understand and support each other. They don’t see you as a dollar sign, they truly see you as a person and that is so important to me and many others. I’m so grateful for my experience at Beauterre!

I really loved my time at Beauterre. It's a beautiful environment full of caring people. The 180 acre estate is full of activities and things to explore and the hotel style rooms are very comfortable. The nurses are very proficient and caring, and very thorough when it comes to treating withdrawals, at least in my experience. I loved my counselor, Jess, and my MHP, Billie. Both of these people are total class acts. They're understanding, wise, and advocated for me in many ways. The classes are overall good, though some are better than others, and all were informative. Billie's classes in particular are something to look forward to; she's a great public speaker and knows exactly what she's talking about. The RS staff are lovely. I'd shout out Kylie, Kayla, and Shauna specifically for making me feel welcome and helping me out in so many ways. The food is pretty good, but not necessarily a selling point in my opinion. This place helped me in my recovery immensely, and I'd recommend it to anyone who need help with substance abuse.

I highly recommend Beauterre if youre serious about your recovery. The meals are great, the staff care, and the structure is very organized. Beauterre knows what they are doing, and they are good at it. The director is there often and is very friendly, if you have any issues with anything, staff handle it in a professional and timely manner. Beauterre is also beautiful inside and out, + clients are all very nice and welcoming.

In 2022, I was placed on an involuntary 72 hour hold by another hospital. It was extremely unwarranted and I was threatened with physical violence and had my human rights violated. That hospital sent me to the inpatient facility at Owatonna. Based on the experience at Buffalo, I was extremely standoffish. I was hysterical. I told them I would not speak with them, I would not let them touch me, I wanted to call my family because buffalo would not let me contact my family and they actually trespassed my entire family from their hospital for literally no reason after my family convinced me to just stay and do what they asked. The nurse was taken aback and asked what happened and I explained and she basically said “oh my god, I’m so sorry. We won’t do that here. We’re going to help you.” And something in her voice made me believe her. I think it took a day and a half maybe to talk to the psychiatrist, but he’s the reason I’m writing this review. He released me before the 72 hour hold was up and said he didn’t believe I needed to be there. He joked with me. I even made jokes that other psychs might’ve held me longer for making and when I ended with a “whoops, shouldn’t have let that one slip” he laughed with me and said no, it shows me you have a healthy coping mechanism. He really just talked to me like a human being and that’s not something I’ve dealt with in my 15 years of experience being treated for mental health conditions. He also went out of his way to call my primary care doctor and tell her he thought she was doing a great job with the medication aspect of my treatment, and when I saw her again she was really surprised he did that and said it was really nice. I don’t remember his name, but I wanted to write this review just to give him a little recognition because he deserves it. I’ve met with probably 10-12 psychiatrists in my life and he was by far the kindest, smartest, most human psychiatrist I’ve met.

Pride Institute has literally saved my life — more than once.
I’ve been through Pride multiple times, and every time I walk back through those doors, I’m reminded that recovery isn’t linear — but community makes it possible. Pride isn’t perfect. It’s a little messy and sometimes chaotic. It’s also one of the only places I’ve ever felt truly seen as a queer, trans person in recovery.
The staff here care, even when we don’t make it easy. Great counselors as well as a lot of variety for daily groups. I’ve learned how to tell the truth about my story, connect with people who get it, and start rebuilding a life that actually feels like mine. I’ve laughed harder here than almost anywhere else, cried in rooms full of people who understood, and found hope when I didn’t think I would again.
If you’re looking for a luxury rehab, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for a place full of flawed, brilliant, queer people trying to heal together—Pride is definitely the place to go.

Pride was such a wonderful treatment center to get my head together. Getting sober is tough but the people that work there are wonderful and understand and do all they can do to help each client.
The clients themselves are always welcoming to everyone and always there to help each other. I couldn't have done it by myself. I love the community that has excepted me. And I am proud to say that Pride will forever be a part of me, my life and my recovery.

Today I celebrate 4 months of sobriety! I couldn’t have done it without the 30 days I spent at the retreat. What an incredible experience I had. Everything from morning meditation each day to the end of the day step 10 inventory. Incredible and supportive staff, guest speakers, daily AA meetings and lots of love. I have implemented so much of what I learned from the Retreat into my daily life and it’s made a huge impact.i can’t say enough great things about The Retreat! I absolutely adored my loving, kind, understanding, compassionate and just a teeny tiny bit rough, counselor, Ava.
Additionally, the program isn't like others that I've been to. I felt less triggered and much more like a family. Park gave me a purpose and motivation to get up, go, and actively participate every day. I enjoyed My time there so so much!!! And I came away with a great support system and the tools to be successful and healthy.
If you are looking for a good and loving recovery program, you will find it in Park Ave!!! Recommend 20 out of 10!!!!!

I honestly cannot say enough great things about the staff they genuinely care about each and every client and it shows tremendously! Park Ave saved my life and my family! They didn't just help me get sober they helped me recover and gave me the best tools to maintain my recovery! I do and will continue to recommend Park Ave to anyone who struggles with addiction! This is the only methadone clinic I have ever been to, but I really like the nurses here and the staff is amazing. I got really sick one morning and they took really good care of me and nobody made a big deal of it. I love Bryant he is a great counselor - very thorough when we meet. Going to dose almost every morning can be a drag but they make it easy.

I’ve had a very good experience with Valhalla Place in Woodbury. One time the building had water damage and I had to wait like 2-3 hours at another clinic to get dosed. But that was a freak thing.
Valhalla has saved my life. I’ve never had an issue there that wasn’t my own doing.
Been coming for like 12 years and I just do not see any of the negatives that people have listed. It’s been only positive for me when I’m on the sober track. I’ve been clean for over 500 days now.

So far my experience with Anne Marie has been TERRIBLE!!!! Early in recovery dealing with disconnection notices and getting back into the work force relying on public transportation in rural Minnesota and trying to find housing is NOT EASY and neither it is an excuse, but I am not sure how she can be kicked out of group after 1 group absence and individual. It is frustrating to work with a provider who calls their clients names during sessions and communicates in a condescending manner. Is this place not trauma informed? I’m so confused as to how I was discharged without being able to speak for myself or to Anne Marie’s supervisor.
UPDATE: Club recovery was ready to listen to my concerns and was quick to offer an efficient solution. I am highly satisfied with the care that I've received at Club Recovery, but amazed at their proficient customer service.

The nurses and safe are incredible. The place is always beautifully clean. The outdoor garden and food pantry fridge available are an amazing touch to add after some stressful visits! This place helped me save my life. The education on recovery at Pride is top-notch, the staff is informed and open, the facility is nice enough and they allow vaping now! All that aside the love and inclusiveness I felt there did more for me than anything. For the first time I didn't feel like I had to play a part to be somewhere. That feeling, that sort of love, stays with a person. After you've been accepted for who you are by others it's easier to accept it about yourself. Pride gave me the keys to unlock me.

I've gone to inpatient in Shakopee and outpatient with lodging in Chaska. Both locations the staff is great. Counselors, techs, peer recovery specialists, medical staff, even kitchen staff. All of them truly care about our recovery, and will do everything they can for you. Northstar also has sober housing if you need it after treatment.

I was there during Covid. Amazing staff, treated with the upmost care. Tommy T is an amazing man who cares deeply for everyone and their story. In January I did the short term program and I've been to so many other treatments this was by far the best one. The gym is close to the best part but also it's some what about god and spirituality the long term is really about and I feel what's been missing is a connection with the lord. Highly highly recommend this place. It works if you work it!
