Shakopee VA Clinic is part of the VA Minneapolis Healthcare System. It’s located along the Minnesota River in a thriving city known for its blend of history, entertainment, and natural beauty. It's a tight and small clinic, but the care I've received has always been better than most facilities. The facility is clean, but could use a check-in kiosk like the ones many other facilities have. I say that only because the poor lady behind the counter was still engaged in warfare with her bowels and it muddied up things for a few minutes. Still; no complaints. The doctors listen, are experts in their field, and the staff wants to interact with you.

I’ve been going to the Shakopee VA for over three years, and it has consistently been the best medical care I’ve received anywhere. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff are kind, helpful, and quick to respond. They make you feel welcome and supported right away. The psychologists and physical therapists here are also excellent. They do their best to schedule appointments quickly, they listen, and they work with you to address your needs in a real and meaningful way. Most of all, I want to recognize Dr. Reddy. She provides care at a personal level that’s hard to find. She makes sure medications, scans, and bloodwork are handled promptly, and she responds to messages and appointment requests almost immediately. It’s clear how much she cares about her patients and how hard she works every day. Overall, I’m very grateful for the staff and providers at the Shakopee VA. Their professionalism, kindness, and commitment truly make a difference

I graduated from The Shakopee Haven in December 2022. This place changed my life for the better. I owe a lot to my Counselor Chris for not giving up on me. He gave me so many tools to use in life after treatment to continue to stay clean. He always told me I had the ability to restore and rebuild with my children if I stay clean. That is exactly what happened. I will forever be grateful for Chris and The haven in Shakopee. 1,185 day's clean by the grace of God!

This place saved my life. I initially wrote a poor review but after some time to think about it with a sober mind, I realized I was being ungrateful and only focused on the negative. I cannot speak for myself I can only speak for my son who has "chosen" To seek help there once again. It makes a huge difference if you are sentenced to be there Or if you go there by choice!! Next to teen challenge, this is the best place to go in Minnesota. No matter where we go, it's only gonna work for us if we really "want" the help

Once in a while everybody that truly struggles with addiction needs help. No treatment center is perfect, if you’re looking for perfection then stay at home with mom but you won’t get better. NorthStar is not perfect by any means but, speaking from personal experience, the people at NorthStar genuinely and authentically care about what you do with the rest of your life. If you’re lucky enough to get in, don’t you dare take advantage of these people, but instead take advantage of the opportunity you’ve been given. These folks are a godsend. Get yourself together man. They will help if you’re willing ❤️

I have been a patient of BHSI for my chronic brain disease for over 5 years. My physician Dr. Silas is thorough, genuinely interested, explains things well, takes the necessary time to meet with me, follows my blood work for additional treatment as needed and responsibly recommends supplements. Also, the nurse, Leslie, is responsive and takes care when dealing with my medical concerns. And Kathy is so wonderful too. In the past I also saw therapist Lisa Zitlow and she was practical and goal oriented in her approach to my needs.

The nutritionist there is HORRIBLE. I personally am lactose intolerant and when I was admitted my liver was bad, so I needed a diet tailored to helping me recover. She told me if I can’t find anything to just eat from the salad bar. I stood my ground and she let the kitchen staff know I was lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat fried stuff but that is ridiculous I should not have to argue with her. Then my roommate had ARFID so she needed dietary help, and the nutritionist told her to eat bread. That’s a sad and pathetic excuse for a nutritionist. Staffs great but they should certainly fire her.

With any institution trying to implement a broad program for individuals, there are bound to be issues. With that being said, my time at HBF Plymouth was invaluable. I especially want to mention Mary the psychologist & counselors Sara and Cozi on the Pioneer Unit. Advocacy is a huge part of individual recovery, and I was especially encouraged by these three to ask for what I need when I need it. It works if you work it!

Went to this place in 2018 short term program, 3 months. Saved and changed my life. I understand it may not be for some but it always starts with yourself, you have to really want it and if you do the people and counselors here will help guide your way. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows here or anywhere for that matter, you have to be strong you have to be determined and if you are this place will work wonders for you. I'll have 8 years sober in 2 days and it all started here. Life is what you make it. To any brand new guests at the Retreat reading Google reviews, either because you’re worried about what exactly you’ve signed up for, or just want to see what others’ experiences have been like—put the phone away—this place is extraordinary. It might make you upset sometimes, and you’ll come to understand uncomfortable truths about yourself. Might piss you off a little, and you’ll learn habits of healthy resolution. Learn from this place. When a line of people out the door say “good morning” and ask “how are you doing today?” they TRULY want to know. You might never find a group of friends quite like the ones you’ll have at the Retreat. Being an alumni of the Retreat is one of the things I am most proud to call myself.

So far my experience with Anne Marie has been TERRIBLE!!!! Early in recovery dealing with disconnection notices and getting back into the work force relying on public transportation in rural Minnesota and trying to find housing is NOT EASY and neither it is an excuse, but I am not sure how she can be kicked out of group after 1 group absence and individual. It is frustrating to work with a provider who calls their clients names during sessions and communicates in a condescending manner. Is this place not trauma informed? I’m so confused as to how I was discharged without being able to speak for myself or to Anne Marie’s supervisor. UPDATE: Club recovery was ready to listen to my concerns and was quick to offer an efficient solution. I am highly satisfied with the care that I've received at Club Recovery, but amazed at their proficient customer service.

My daughter and I needed a therapist to help us talk through some childhood experiences that left our relationship strained. We asked for a female therapist who understands both the teenage brain and adulthood. We found Jacey. She not only understands the teenage brain, she also understands young single motherhood, heavy life circumstances with a professional high demanding career, graduate school and commitment in the community. Her roadmap for our sessions allows our discussions to simply flow flawlessly. One of the best decisions I’ve made for my family thus far this year.
