Beauterre literally saved my life. It's the exact opposite of what I thought in patient treatment was. The environment is about support, warmth and care while they help you navigate your recovery journey. The staff is extraordinary and the food is great too. I encourage anybody looking for help to consider Beauterre with their amazing property and staff. I really cannot say enough about how great my stay was and how much help I received.

In 2022, I was placed on an involuntary 72 hour hold by another hospital. It was extremely unwarranted and I was threatened with physical violence and had my human rights violated. That hospital sent me to the inpatient facility at Owatonna. Based on the experience at Buffalo, I was extremely standoffish. I was hysterical. I told them I would not speak with them, I would not let them touch me, I wanted to call my family because buffalo would not let me contact my family and they actually trespassed my entire family from their hospital for literally no reason after my family convinced me to just stay and do what they asked. The nurse was taken aback and asked what happened and I explained and she basically said “oh my god, I’m so sorry. We won’t do that here. We’re going to help you.” And something in her voice made me believe her. I think it took a day and a half maybe to talk to the psychiatrist, but he’s the reason I’m writing this review. He released me before the 72 hour hold was up and said he didn’t believe I needed to be there. He joked with me. I even made jokes that other psychs might’ve held me longer for making and when I ended with a “whoops, shouldn’t have let that one slip” he laughed with me and said no, it shows me you have a healthy coping mechanism. He really just talked to me like a human being and that’s not something I’ve dealt with in my 15 years of experience being treated for mental health conditions. He also went out of his way to call my primary care doctor and tell her he thought she was doing a great job with the medication aspect of my treatment, and when I saw her again she was really surprised he did that and said it was really nice. I don’t remember his name, but I wanted to write this review just to give him a little recognition because he deserves it. I’ve met with probably 10-12 psychiatrists in my life and he was by far the kindest, smartest, most human psychiatrist I’ve met.

My husband had to have several blood transfusions. Nurse Mary was the best. She went out of her way to always have what was needed there and ready for us. She also made sure we were comfortable while we were there. I will never be able to thank her enough for how great she was to my husband and me during his last days. I've changed my review they've implemented a lot of good things. The monthly mandatory group is online now which is amazing I have severe phobias and sitting in a small room of 20 people with potentially catching COVID makes me feel a lot better knowing I can sit at home in a group on camera and my counselor Rob is amazing and genuinely cares so they fixed a lot so I give this clinic a thumbs up. My previous review wasn't too fair I feel like they fixed a lot of the issues that I had problems with which is really good lots of places don't do that and they certainly don't listen to their clients usually and fixing those issues so it's a very nice change of pace to feel like we are heard 👍

The individuals they serve are battling some of the toughest mental health challenges out there, and that reality doesn’t just impact them—it impacts the people walking alongside them in treatment, too. Here’s the part some people don’t like to hear: there are three sides to every story. Yours, theirs, and the truth somewhere in the middle. So before forming an opinion based on a shared post, a comment thread, or secondhand frustration, ask yourself—have you actually experienced this place firsthand? Or are you repeating someone else’s version of events? If you’re going to leave a review, let it be from your own experience. Not borrowed outrage. From what I have experienced, this is a group of people doing hard work, with real care, in a space that most wouldn’t last a day in—and that deserves more respect than it often gets. Have your own experience—and your own opinion. Living through someone else’s doesn’t say what you think it does.

I’ve been tested for COVID-19 twice at this Mayo satellite clinic, once on fall 2020 and again today, late May 2021. The clinic was indeed overwhelmed by testing demand the first time. Cars lined the public road out front and the parking lot was full. In spite of this challenge the staff was able to administer my test within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. They were pleasant and very professional. I received my test results electronically (as their publicly available documentation stated I would if the test was negative). The results took approx 24hrs although I was told to expect results in 24-48hrs. Today I arrived 10 minutes early. The parking lot was only 20% full. When I walked up to the portal to scan the posted QR code as instructed the door opened and a Mayo staffer greeted me by name and invited me in for my test. I didn’t even need to scan the code. As before, the staff member who administered the test was pleasant and efficient. Expectations for test results are still 24-48hrs although I was told that results have been coming in more quickly now that demand for testing has fallen. My recommendation if you need COVID-19 testing, is to use the Mayo App on your phone or login to your Mayo account through the web portal on your PC. Follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. Please don’t bother the staff with phone calls asking for information about your test that you will receive electronically. Don’t waste their time. They have other patients to tend to. If you’re test results are positive I am told that they will call you with that result and to discuss your treatment options. I’m very happy with this clinic location.

My daughter's fiance had just moved here and needed to establish care with a new provider. His appointment with a fairview provider got canceled on the day of the appointment (due to the provider being out sick). We were scrambling to get in to see someone since his meds were about to run out. The front desk staff at the Lakeville Clinic (Nikki and another gal) were AMAZING! They showed empathy and did everything they could to help us get in to see someone else. They helped us understand the system and how to get established with a provider. What a blessing in a tough situation! Thanks, ladies!
