I've changed my review they've implemented a lot of good things. The monthly mandatory group is online now which is amazing I have severe phobias and sitting in a small room of 20 people with potentially catching COVID makes me feel a lot better knowing I can sit at home in a group on camera and my counselor Rob is amazing and genuinely cares so they fixed a lot so I give this clinic a thumbs up. My previous review wasn't too fair I feel like they fixed a lot of the issues that I had problems with which is really good lots of places don't do that and they certainly don't listen to their clients usually and fixing those issues so it's a very nice change of pace to feel like we are heard 👍

Nystrom has an integrated staff model. Offices are spread out all over the state, but they all work together which allows a quicker pathway for receiving services. Most other offices in one geographic location have waiting lists to be seen which is tough on a patient with emergent mental health issues that exacerbate while left untreated.

firstly i had a great experience with dr kimberly, she listened to all of my concerns and addressed every single one. secondly the lab technician/phlebotomist (unsure of their title) Jorge was amazing, i have a huge fear of needles, i end up passing out every time but he did an amazing job of distracting me and making it a comfortable and the best experience i’ve had getting my blood drawn, you don’t typically get that from interaction that’s so short. and my test results with explanations and recommendations were back within a day. everyone i talked to from the front desk to the nurses were incredibly kind and professional. will definitely be making this location my go to for my health.

In 2022, I was placed on an involuntary 72 hour hold by another hospital. It was extremely unwarranted and I was threatened with physical violence and had my human rights violated. That hospital sent me to the inpatient facility at Owatonna. Based on the experience at Buffalo, I was extremely standoffish. I was hysterical. I told them I would not speak with them, I would not let them touch me, I wanted to call my family because buffalo would not let me contact my family and they actually trespassed my entire family from their hospital for literally no reason after my family convinced me to just stay and do what they asked. The nurse was taken aback and asked what happened and I explained and she basically said “oh my god, I’m so sorry. We won’t do that here. We’re going to help you.” And something in her voice made me believe her. I think it took a day and a half maybe to talk to the psychiatrist, but he’s the reason I’m writing this review. He released me before the 72 hour hold was up and said he didn’t believe I needed to be there. He joked with me. I even made jokes that other psychs might’ve held me longer for making and when I ended with a “whoops, shouldn’t have let that one slip” he laughed with me and said no, it shows me you have a healthy coping mechanism. He really just talked to me like a human being and that’s not something I’ve dealt with in my 15 years of experience being treated for mental health conditions. He also went out of his way to call my primary care doctor and tell her he thought she was doing a great job with the medication aspect of my treatment, and when I saw her again she was really surprised he did that and said it was really nice. I don’t remember his name, but I wanted to write this review just to give him a little recognition because he deserves it. I’ve met with probably 10-12 psychiatrists in my life and he was by far the kindest, smartest, most human psychiatrist I’ve met.

Pride Institute has literally saved my life — more than once.
I’ve been through Pride multiple times, and every time I walk back through those doors, I’m reminded that recovery isn’t linear — but community makes it possible. Pride isn’t perfect. It’s a little messy and sometimes chaotic. It’s also one of the only places I’ve ever felt truly seen as a queer, trans person in recovery.
The staff here care, even when we don’t make it easy. Great counselors as well as a lot of variety for daily groups. I’ve learned how to tell the truth about my story, connect with people who get it, and start rebuilding a life that actually feels like mine. I’ve laughed harder here than almost anywhere else, cried in rooms full of people who understood, and found hope when I didn’t think I would again.
If you’re looking for a luxury rehab, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for a place full of flawed, brilliant, queer people trying to heal together—Pride is definitely the place to go.

Pride was such a wonderful treatment center to get my head together. Getting sober is tough but the people that work there are wonderful and understand and do all they can do to help each client.
The clients themselves are always welcoming to everyone and always there to help each other. I couldn't have done it by myself. I love the community that has excepted me. And I am proud to say that Pride will forever be a part of me, my life and my recovery.

I walked these halls 10 years ago. Tim Helmek (I forgot if that’s correct spelling) saved my life with what he taught me. I didn’t stay sober that then but when the time came I knew what to do to stay sober because of him. Just celebrated 7.5 years. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

My last stay at Hazelden Plymouth was about 2.5 years ago, when I was 17. At first, I was nervous and resentful of my parents for sending me there but I’m glad they did. The facility was amazing (and the food was great too). My psychologist, David Wells, was very educated and helped me make real progress. My counselors, Joanne and Denise, were exactly what I needed. I overdosed on fentanyl three times before coming here, and without Hazelden I truly don’t think I’d be alive today. I’m now 2.5 years sober, and the education and support I received at Hazelden continues to help me in other parts of my life. I’m very grateful for my time here and highly recommend Hazelden to anyone who needs help.

Burkwood is an amazing place. Their staff truly care and are so rich of information to share about addiction, recovery, and real life. They’re are meant for their jobs. I’ve learned so much while I was there. I valued the daily book we filled out on our own, fully engaging and eye opening. I was lucky to have Pete as my counselor. His approach was thorough and helpful. My only complaint is that it was crowded there and access to phones, bathrooms, and laundry was a bit tricky but maybe that will change at some point. My time at Burkwood was amazing, to say the least. The staff were great and it truly is up to you if you want this place to help you! Take what you can from it and be grateful. Reading some of these horrible reviews is crazy to me! It’s not a vacation - for a treatment center it’s pretty damn nice! The classes do get a little monotonous, but for the most part were engaging and helpful. My counselor Derek was the absolute best and the RAs Diane, William, Kristin, Aidan and Ashley were genuine and helpful. They are heavily rooted in AA which I thought I would hate at first, but if you’re just open-minded and listen to what speaks to you it’s not too shabby. The Retreat is a peer operated rehab in Wayzata, Minnesota. This is a bit different than a traditional rehab because it’s more mutual and collaborative. The Retreat saved my life. I relapsed after 6 years sober and found returning to the program extremely difficult. The way they helped me immerse myself back into the steps was exactly what I needed. Now I’m in fire for AA and I am so grateful that this place exists for real alcoholics and addicts like me to recover.

Today I celebrate 4 months of sobriety! I couldn’t have done it without the 30 days I spent at the retreat. What an incredible experience I had. Everything from morning meditation each day to the end of the day step 10 inventory. Incredible and supportive staff, guest speakers, daily AA meetings and lots of love. I have implemented so much of what I learned from the Retreat into my daily life and it’s made a huge impact.i can’t say enough great things about The Retreat! I am so very grateful to everyone there.
