About Fairview Health Services

Fairview Health Services is located in Burnsville, Minnesota. This is a medical facility that specializes in providing pediatric support services to children, adolescents and teens. They also have services here that address the needs of older teens and young adults.

Among the programs you’ll find here include support for behavioral health struggles, mental health challenges and at-risk behaviors. If you, your child or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse, there are addiction recovery services available through the Fairview Health network as well.

Comprehensive Medical Care

As a larger medical facility, you’ll find that this center is bigger than a traditional pediatric clinic. Instead, you’ll find hospital grade services and amenities here including a dining hall, coffee shop, gift shop and an onsite chapel.

One of the benefits of seeking care at such a large scale medical facility is that if there are other medical or mental health challenges at play, you’ll likely find providers on site who can support you in the way you need. You don’t have to travel for care, and you’ll still receive quality hospital level treatment.

Addiction Recovery Approach

Fairview Health Services takes a comprehensive and evidence based approach to their addiction recovery and behavioral health services. Support includes individualized counseling along with peer support services through group counseling sessions. In a facility like this, you get the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with peers. This will help you feel less alone as you work through your challenges.

Referrals for More Intensive Support

If you need more specialized care like an intensive outpatient program or dedicated treatment for an opioid use disorder, Fairview Health has a robust addiction medicine program available. This program is offered at affiliate locations and can provide access to medication assisted treatment, medical intervention for co-occurring struggles and other supports. If you qualify for these services, you or a loved one can get referred to them from the Burnsville location.

The one star is only for Lisa Katz. I did not like her at all. I was talking about how I haven’t been able to breath easily through my nasal cavity basically my entire life and how I thought everyone was like this, and she suggested flonase. And I also was saying how my wrist like has been in a lot of pain and how I haven’t been able to support my weight normally on it, and how it collapses underneath me sometimes when I’m getting up off the ground and she was like “well did you try ibuprofen?” Are you kidding me?? ibuprofen? That’s your solution to my injured wrist? I’m telling her these issues that seem pretty concerning to me, and instead of trying to figure out what’s wrong, she’s just suggesting these stupid little solutions that don’t actually fix the problem but rather just make them go away so I don’t have to deal with them. God forbid a person wants to make sure they’re body is ok instead of just using OTC drugs to pretend that everything is fine. I honestly think she was just being lazy in her work. Like instead of taking the time to try and find out what’s wrong, or idk maybe doing an x ray, she’s just trying to make her job as easy as possible so that she can move on to the next patient. I could be wrong but that’s my theory. Don’t go see her if you want to actually know what’s wrong with your body. Save your money and get a first aid kit and do a 5 second google search, it will be the same outcome.

We are very disappointed with the customer service in this clinic. As new patients, my husband and I scheduled appointments one at 3:40 and another one at 4:10. We arrived 15 minutes late because the clinic sent us the wrong address, and the doctor automatically didn't want to see one of us, even though it was their fault that we arrived late. I even showed the lady at the front desk that the address was wrong but she didn't even apologize.

firstly i had a great experience with dr kimberly, she listened to all of my concerns and addressed every single one. secondly the lab technician/phlebotomist (unsure of their title) Jorge was amazing, i have a huge fear of needles, i end up passing out every time but he did an amazing job of distracting me and making it a comfortable and the best experience i’ve had getting my blood drawn, you don’t typically get that from interaction that’s so short. and my test results with explanations and recommendations were back within a day. everyone i talked to from the front desk to the nurses were incredibly kind and professional. will definitely be making this location my go to for my health.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

They don't care about your recovery process, if it were up to them, they will continue charging you all months and you won't see any progress.

If you don't understand why they're reviews our so Low I can help you understand. On my first visit papers we're faxed to the the doctor's office from the pharmacy that my pills can be packaged. It's easier for me because I have a disease in my eyes. The doctor told me to wait in the room. Her name is doctor parpia. I waited the facts came in. I signed it at the front desk. Relieved that this had happened, I left call the pharmacy. They did not receive the paperwork, I was told the doctor did not know who I was. I was missing my blood pressure medicine for a whole week, by the next morning, I was hospitalized from saturday to tuesday. No call from the doctor no call from the clinic. Only to have a confrontation on the phone with me going back-and-forth. When I left the doctor's office, my blood pressure was 179 over 110. The doctor did not recheck my blood pressure. I was bent over crying from pain and stress. She told me she had other patients to see this day. Not concerned about my health. At all, or the fact that I had no blood pressure pills for a whole week. Hospital visit was horrible.I'm so glad to be home. Medication, noun, it's all messed up.I'm almost afraid to take it.
