Pride Institute has made it clear they are not a reliable or safe space for LGBTQIA+ people anymore. When a facility can abruptly drop LGBTQ-focused residential care, the core of what built their reputation, it shows they were committed to the branding, not the community. They should not be allowed to call themselves Pride, because there isn't a damn thing they should be proud of any more. Their public excuse, blaming the “changing landscape” (KSTP report), is corporate code for “it got too inconvenient to keep doing what’s right.” Must be nice to have the privilege of walking away from us. We don’t get that option. We don’t get to stop being queer when the world gets hostile. Communities build institutions, and institutions are supposed to protect the people who trusted them. Instead, Pride chose a business pivot over human beings. That tells you everything you need to know. If you’re LGBTQIA+, find another provider. This is no longer a safe place you can count on. The direction they’re moving in raises serious concerns about future care models and about whether they’ll maintain any meaningful commitment to queer-affirming treatment. It even brings into question what they are going to do with all that patient information if the current regime asks for it. Since they have demonstrated that they have no ethical standards, then we can't trust them with our info. If you’re an investor or partner, run! The brand damage is going to follow this organization for years. Abandoning the very identity that built their legacy is the kind of choice organizations don’t recover from. Once you break trust with a marginalized community, there’s no rebranding campaign strong enough to fix it. There is no doubt this decision, if maintained, will be the start of a fall that they will be unable to coarse correct once it starts. We deserve care from people who actually stand with us. The "No Pride" Institute made their choice. So now we make ours.

I love pride. I’ve had some really good experiences here. But being kicked out as a trans girl one day before I can get into sober living and telling them I had absolutely no where to go and them not caring AS A TRANS girl, rubbed me the wrong way. This place has went 85% down hill since TODD left. Howie is not helpful the ceo doesn’t even show his face or involved whatsoever. There’s a trailer outside where you shower because the shower being remodeled had worms coming out of the drain, told by a staff member. All the staff members also just sit and talk bad about each other. They cause more drama than the clients. It’s just not a place I’d go no longer to stay sober. Highly don’t recommend. Lattitudes if I ever need again!

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Pride Institute works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs typically provide a full continuum of care both for clients in early recovery and for those who are well advanced in their recovery journey. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Many outpatient facilities offer evening, night, and weekend services, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training, to accommodate clients' work and family schedules.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) provide one of the highest levels of care available in an outpatient setting and are designed for clients who require robust support. Many intensive outpatient rehabs offer personalized treatment plans and a variety of services, including individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Clients typically receive between nine and 20 hours of care weekly.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Therapists often use cognitive behavioral therapy in Minnesota to treat substance use disorders because it can help clients quickly identify challenges and ways to cope with them. Its structured, specific methods require fewer sessions than other types of therapy.

Dialectical behavior therapy focuses on four skills: emotional regulation, mindfulness, acceptance and distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Treatment involves individual sessions, as well as group sessions where you can start applying the skills you learn.

People benefit from group therapy sessions that offer them the chance to learn and practice conflict resolution skills with their peers. This helps you recognize your strengths and capabilities, which boosts your self confidence as you work toward overcoming addiction and building a healthier lifestyle.

Qualified therapists in Minnesota offer individual therapy to men and women so they can receive customized care tailored to their needs. Your therapist works to understand your unique circumstances and provide you with targeted interventions and coping skills essential for long term recovery.

When conducting motivational interviewing in Minnesota, the interviewer encourages clients to discuss their reasons for making changes and their need for change in their lives. The interviewer's role is to listen and reflect, to evoke conversation about commitment to change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy in Minnesota can help you understand yourself and your partner better and identify the issues causing stress in the relationship. From finances to addiction to children, you'll learn skills to deal with various stressors and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Families in Minnesota use family therapy to understand the roles they play in addiction. Each member plays a role and contributes to a pattern of behavior. Families learn to interact in healthier ways that support each other and contribute to their loved one's journey to recovery.

For a successful recovery, life skills training is key. That's why rehab programs in Minnesota include training in social skills, self care, time management, financial management, and other daily life skills. By growing in these areas, you'll gain tools that allow you to navigate challenges and avoid relapse.

The expressive activities of creative arts therapy in Minnesota help you find new ways to look at challenging situations, explore complicated feelings that can be hard to talk about and help you understand yourself better. This can be helpful as you work through the complex issues of addiction and recovery.

Nicotine replacement therapy in Minnesota addresses physical dependence on nicotine. Paired with support systems to address the psychological aspects of dependence, they can be an effective tool to help you quit smoking. Options include nasal sprays, inhalers, gum, and lozenges.

The Pride Institute is a place of miracles. The healing and recovery that takes place here is life-changing. I cannot speak highly enough, of the dedication of the staff. From counselors to therapists, from the tech staff to the cooks who prepare our daily meal, they are all 100% dedicated to the clients. In addition, the sense of community that is fostered here allow each individual to shine. You find yourself among peers who often have the same struggles that you have had. You truly find yourself supported, and definitely not alone. If you are serious about getting sober, and have the opportunity to get to the Pride Institute, you should definitely consider this one of your best options.
