About Progressions Behavioral Health Services – Feasterville Trevose

Progressions Behavioral Health Services is located in Feasterville Trevose, Pennsylvania. This is a community agency that supports adults, seniors, criminally involved individuals, and others as they work through mental health or substance abuse struggles impacting their lives. There are also specialized programs here for children and adolescents, as well as individuals struggling with PTSD or severe emotional disturbances.

Policies for most major insurance providers are accepted here, including Medicaid and state financed health plans. They also accept coverage through the state welfare or the Child and Family Services fund.

Clinical Care in a Supportive Setting

You’ll find that the services here are rooted in evidence based therapies and are designed to help you build the recovery skills you need for a life of health, wellness, and sobriety. Their age appropriate treatment programs tackle your addiction struggles head on, providing you with actionable and relevant skills that you can begin applying in your life as soon as you start treatment.

Aftercare Support Services

They have a really strong aftercare program in place, and through this program, you can get linked to other services in your community. Whether it’s linkage to housing support, community resources, or support groups like local 12 step chapters, these resources prepare you to continue toward a productive pathway in your treatment plan.

Positive Client Reviews

Overall, past clients say they’ve appreciated the support here and felt that the staff was caring and compassionate, providing judgment-free care. As a community agency, however, some clients say there was a high turnover rate of employees, which sometimes made it difficult to build meaningful connections with the care team. Overall, however, that wasn’t necessarily the experience of everyone who received support here.

Progressions also known as Malvern: If you want proper help for your child DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. The only good thing I can say is about his home therapist Tiana other than that this place is terrible. How can you be dealing with children and be such an awful establishment? For one, you can never get a hold of anyone or a call back. An email will be responded to but it usually states "I sent that to so and so and they should be reaching out to you" and that NEVER happens. It took me almost 2 months to get in contact with the psychiatrist in regards to my son's medication. Since they started his medication I've had to email every month to make sure it was going to be refilled. I am now most likely not going to have any medication to give my son tomorrow morning and Monday morning since his refill was never sent in yesterday and it is now the weekend. He also has a BC that goes to school to 'help" him. I NEVER hear from this man and quite frankly at this point I don't care to. We struggled for years to get my son the help he so needed and just when we thought finally there's hope, that went down pretty quickly in dealing with Malvern. Time to look for a new place to help my son.

Gina is wonderful! She was the only therapist my daughter had that actually took time to do activities and try to get her to open up. Front desk was always kind and very helpful as well.

I have been with Malvern/Progressions on and off for years now. At first everything was fine beside the occasional rude lady at the front desk BUT since I have been with them I have been with 3 different therapist that just up and left, giving very short notice. Do you know how stressful and overwhelming it is to keep having to start over, start from the beginning of your very traumatic life???? Not once, not twice but THREE TIMES!!!! Someone with bipolar depression and high anxiety it is not easy opening up to a stranger and everytime I get to the point where I shared just about everything and put my full trust into them they're just like "well it was nice knowing you, don't contact me again"....LIKE WHAT?!?! So if you're looking for a permanent therapist, a therapist that actually cares about your emotional well being, this place is not for you. I have given this place so many chances and all they did in return was cause me more emotional stress.... Thanks alot Malvern/Progressions/whatever you go by now....

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Alcoholism is a syndrome of dependent alcohol use. Also called alcohol use disorder (AUD), the symptoms include craving alcohol, not being able to stop drinking, and feeling anxious or irritable when not drinking. For many people, alcohol rehab in Pennsylvania is a beneficial treatment. Programs offer many levels of care, including medical and behavioral therapies.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Pennsylvania, substance abuse treatment programs can help address addiction and any co-occurring mental health problems. These programs incorporate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation to help you uncover the underlying causes for your substance use and develop new skills to help you manage stress and overcome future triggers which may challenge your sobriety.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This is very specific to Malvern. Their employees, specifically behavioral techs (therapeutic support staff ) really should consider unionizing. When you go to work and you clock in and out, you should get paid and that’s a simple as it is Malvern. Job protection when it comes to money should be highly considered when the job is emotionally draining and physically dangerous. This job has extra steps to an independent contractor position that still does not ensure proper payment when you work. They do not provide tablets ensuring you success in the field and they withheld my pay for a month because of a technicality made by the Philadelphia school system.
