They were kind, reassuring, and professional from start to finish. The check-in process was a bit confusing, though that may have been on me for not fully following the pre-visit instructions. I don’t have any complaints. If I need her in a crisis I send a text or call the after hours number for help. During our time together we work on the necessary things to help me better function in every day life with friends family, social situations…. And so many other ways where I may need the help. I am very greatful for the service that Holcomb Behavioral Health has been able to provide me with. The experiences with staff there (counselors, receptionists, psychiatrists, and even management) has been excellent. I am thoroughly pleased with their Family Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS). And although the first two counselors were not good matches for my individual therapy, We finally made a connection with the next one! They do have a stringent attendance policy but with good reasons....without consistency there is not good progress. Very professional staff. It’s going to be a completely different experience for every individual. Just because one person has a negative experience doesn’t necessarily mean the practice or doctors are bad. It means it wasn’t the right place for that person. This isn’t a pair of jeans your buying on Amazon. This is a very personal thing. What works for me might not work for you. Please know this practice has MANY patients whose lives are so much better because of the care they’re received here. Try them for yourself before you arbitrarily decide they’re a “horrible” practice, because for me, it’s quite the opposite. I hate coming here, not because I don’t like them, but because of the reason I have to go there in the first place. Don’t judge until you know for sure. They provide a therapeutic environment that allows clients the opportunity to heal and grow. They feed you well, the coffee is real and usually strong (though limited to meal times,) the gym is better than most. There are ample smoke breaks and there are decent amenities. It's not the Ritz, but it's not supposed to be. They're definitely understaffed, but the team they currently have is full of dedicated and compassionate people which made all the difference in my stay and helped my find direction and hope. From the kitchen staff to housekeeping. The nurse and techs cared more about my recovery than I did. They really try to work with you. My case worker Donna was the bomb and even though she was in charge of my case that didn’t stop any of the workers from helping me when I needed it. The techs have a story of their own and they really get it. No one was judge mental and they treated everyone like a human being. There isn’t one person who worked there that I wish I didn’t meet. I honestly wish I could have bought them all home with me. Even the community was awesome. Clients helping clients. I give WDR a 10+ on the rating skill. The director even steps in and got his hands dirty. It’s team work at its best. I honestly fought the program the whole time for my own reasons. A week later I’m still sober ❤️ Thanks WDR for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself you guys made a good impact on me and my family Loves y’all more.
