Bridget Maloney 1 year ago (This is a long one) I’ve had my fair share of therapists before and each time it was a crash and burn situation. It never worked out for me, I always felt like it was too much. I pushed it off until it smacked me in the face. I can genuinely say EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER DOWN TO THE RECEPTIONISTS ( especially Kaela, dr. Nelson, Greg & Nicole for me) welcomed me with opened arms at a time I needed it most. I never not once felt judged nor put down. I was held accountable each step of the way and able to express myself. Each one of them taught me a lot about my triggers, my attachment styles, my anger, the work I had to put in on my self and just the really understanding and loving the overall person I am. They taught me to identify why I was using bad habits to cope with my feelings. I really don’t have the words to explain how much they have helped me. If so I would be here all day. Let me try to sum it up. I had never been to therapy long term(some therapists just wouldn’t call back). I had never been on medication for my mental health(I would gas light myself and create bad habits to cope). I was in therapy for about a year and a half with kaela, Greg and dr Nelson. Some days I wish I had never left(I moved out the state). Dr. Nelson always listened to me, he helped me understand what was going on mentally. During my time he worked with me to find medications that helped me function daily. It wasn’t easy but he never gave up and he never pushed me to take anything I didn’t like or want to be on. Greg helped me to look within. He taught me not to bottle up my emotions and how to express what I’m feeling in a better way than I was. I have to give my props to Kaela for dealing with me the longest tho. Instantly I clicked with her. She really sets the bar high when it comes to a therapist for me. She listened to me yap on and on and she didn’t make me feel like I was a burden with my weekly visits. I actually looked forward to going to my visits.. even when I went back on my word. She didn’t make me feel ashamed of myself(No one there did) She always remembered everything, even when I didn’t. She made me hold myself accountable for my actions, as she did also. I loved that about her most. She didn’t let me slip. She helped me realize why I was doing certain things or why I was reacting the way I would and what they could’ve stemmed from. Other therapists didn’t do what they did for me mentally, even spiritually. Everyone at Caron is like a family to me at this point. I recommend everyone to come to Caron. All my friends, family, strangers. They made me realize therapy and asking for help wasn’t bad after all. If you needed a sign. This is it. I am so happy to say that they really work. There was an problem someone else was having and it escalated where this man was yelling at the admin team. The people I have met along my mental health journey has been so amazing and I absolutely loved it. Met some of the most amazing people and staff, they treated me like I was human and acknowledged when I was struggling to stay up and going on the right path. It may have been a little scary due to some of the people who were also struggling. But I know they cant help it and theres not much a lot of staff can do about certain things. Overall, I want to say thank you to the staff at that amazing place. JEANIE is amazing!! We're basically around the same age and I feel like I clicked so well with a lot of the staff. I have been coming here for a year and the therapist Amy is wonderful. The receptionist are so kind and sweet and take their time to work with you. Today I had my appointment with Dr Joshi and I think he is the most wonderful Doctor I have seen. He seems so genuine and let me ramble. Having more bad days than good is a challenge. When you have an amazing team of medical personnel that seem to be on your side and genuinely care makes such an impact on a person like me. I was told to go to a different facility but my family doctor is tower health so I came here because I thought she was great. I am so glad I did. It is 10 am and I have a new feeling of hopefulness. You are not dollar signs here, you are a person with a name who matters. You are given time to talk, time to vent, time to explain. You can ask questions and they are answered in a way I can understand. Don't get me wrong the past 2 interns I have had were amazing and I was so sad each time I had to say goodbye. This is a Doctor you want to move on with and not say goodbye to. (I don't know if you can do that) I feel accomplished this morning and like I have a plan. The staff was amazing especially Kiki, Mrs Elle, Andrew , mufasa, Mrs.V, and mr. Zabby . I honestly was really struggling around the time I was admitted but with all the support I was provided by the staff I got through one of the toughest times of my life and I will forever be grateful for everything the staff has done for me during my stay . I also just want to say if your struggling don’t be scared to reach out for help because I regret allowing myself to get as bad as I did and sometimes you honestly just need someone to talk to because it is very hard to go through tough times alone . Azriella Roby 3 months ago one of the most decent hospitals in pennsylvania i don’t care what anyone says yes some staff are strict. the beds are uncomfortable but it’s not your home. if ur a 201 you’ll stay typically between 3-7 days sometimes up to 14 if u a 302 its usually 14-28 days up to several months. i know someone who was there my fiance 5S. the staff are always nice and polite on the phone when i call they see how supportive i am the doctor is wonderful. yes some staff may say no to phone calls and that’s because they are in meals,group,sleep etc. or whoever was there didn’t sign a ROI to you. meaning u can’t talk to them or they can’t give u updates. by far this is one of the good hospitals in berks county and pennsylvania its self so many hospitals are abusive and cruel but in here you’ll actually get the help you need if u do good and mind your own business and be respectful and eat do daily activities and group and take meds if needed and makes end meet. This program is excellent for teens that struggle with mental health. My experience was amazing. Staff are polite, calm, understandable, etc. They do a lot of fun things, such as going to parks, going out to eat, baseball games, etc. They have helpful groups every weekday that impower clients to make a better version of themselves. I've done some stupid things while I was here like running away, but I was given a second chance and took advantage of it. I'm giving this place a 5 star rating because this placed changed me in a way that no where else could've. No placement is perfect, but this is one of the best placements in PA.
