About Pyramid Healthcare Inc. – Quakertown Residential Treatment Center for Men

The residential program provides 24/7 supervision in a safe and secure environment where men can focus solely on their recovery. This program uses a clinical and holistic approach to recovery. Individual counseling, group counseling, fatherhood recovery groups, relapse prevention programming, 12 Step meetings, Celebrate Recovery groups, yoga, and self-expression groups are provided. Clients can also engage in drumming classes.

The medication-assisted treatment program provides FDA-approved medications in combination with mental health counseling. This program is often used for those addicted to opioids. Men can live on site while they participate in this program and can continue with it once they leave the facility.

Once the residential treatment portion of the program is completed, most men move into an aftercare phase of treatment. Ongoing counseling, participation in alumni groups, and engaging in peer-support groups are common ways individuals stay connected in an aftercare phase of treatment. Some choose to slowly step down and move through an outpatient level of care.

Pyramid Healthcare – Men’s Inpatient Treatment Center accepts most insurance plans. If a person wants to use their insurance, they are encouraged to contact their provider because out of network benefits may vary.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
Their inpatient residential treatment programs rely on the 12-step philosophy as an integral part of recovery. Clients attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous as part of their treatment regimen. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Pyramid Healthcare provides dual diagnosis treatment, which addresses symptoms of both mental health disorders and addiction, for adults at select facilities. By combining the most effective aspects of mental health care and substance abuse into a continuum, the chances of a client successfully maintaining sustained sobriety increase greatly. Many Pyramid Healthcare clinicians and counselors are certified in the treatment of co-occurring mental health disorders and are able to effectively and expertly apply the tenets of dual diagnosis treatment. Clients receiving dual diagnosis treatment will receive psychiatric care and proper medication to address their diagnosis while simultaneously participating in addiction recovery programs.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Pennsylvania can be helpful to individuals who are experiencing substance use disorder and various mental health conditions. It helps you identify damaging thought and behavior patterns and replace them with healthy ones.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Pennsylvania is an evidence based technique that involves group therapy, individual therapy, and phone coaching. Group sessions focus on learning behavioral skills. Individual therapy gives you the opportunity to apply what you're learning to your personal situations. Phone coaching allows you to call your therapist during the week for help with challenging situations.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing in Pennsylvania gives you the opportunity to share your perspective and explore your ideas and motivation for change. Your therapist will walk you through the four steps of engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning to empower you to make any desired changes in your life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy in Pennsylvania is typically short term treatment that focuses on building skills that lead to positive long term relationship changes. Sessions with the therapist may occur both jointly and individually.

Family involvement can be critical to a client’s success during and after treatment. Pyramid Healthcare has developed a family program designed to educate the client’s family members about the disease of addiction. This program helps both the individual in specialty treatment and their family learn skills and develop behaviors effective in minimizing the negative impact of the addiction on the familial relationship. Their family program can also open lines of communication between the client and their family members. Pyramid Healthcare counselors can provide family counseling if it is requested by the client.

Assisting their clients in their search for recovery and a higher quality of life is a crucial part of their mission. In order to help individuals struggling from addiction successfully reintegrate into the community once they have completed treatment, they provide extensive life skills training at their halfway houses and residential programs. Pyramid Healthcare specialists and clinicians collaborate in an effort to provide clients with guidance and instruction on a variety of real-world topics. These include financial management, job preparation, communication skills, social etiquette, volunteerism, and the appropriate utilization of community resources..

Incorporating recreational therapy into drug and alcohol addiction programs in Pennsylvania helps you rebuild your life and maintain sobriety by discovering new interests and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Recreational activities can include painting, team sports, and hiking to promote physical and mental health.

Disappointing Communication and Medication Management My husband recently completed treatment at this facility, and unfortunately, our experience has been deeply frustrating. While we had hoped for a supportive environment to aid in his recovery, the facility’s handling of communication and medication left much to be desired. One of the most concerning issues was their failure to return a prescribed medication from his regular doctor. This medication is essential to his daily well-being, and without it, his condition has worsened significantly—leaving him in a worse state than when he entered treatment. My husband labs came back slightly elevated and the doctor said she was going to decrease it down to every three days. When my husband tried to advocate for himself and asked if it could be done a different way she then told him I will just discontine it. The doctor would not even hear my husband out. He has been on this medication for years and he knows his body. He was not asking to increase or keep the same does. He was fine with decreasing it and just was asking about another way to do so without it effecting him so drastically. This is a complete disregard to the patients health. There is no doubt in my mind that if he did not question her about the dosing decrease and said okay to the every three days that he would of walked out with his prescription. It seems to me that the doctor does not like to be questioned, since she went from three days to just discontining after he said something to her. I explained to his counselor over speaker phone on why he needs this medicine and what happenes if he does not have it. My husband also explained this to the doctor as well. And just because he questioned her she took him completely off it and "destroyed" it. I have spoken to other medical professionals and rehabilitation facilities and this is unethical behavior. He should of been told he would not get the prescription back if that was the case. He was told more than once by the nurses and staff that it would be returned upon discharge. This is negligence. That medication came from a compounding pharmacy and he had to pay out of pocket for it. It is not a cheap prescription. Now I have to explain to his regular doctor and pharmacist what happened and why he needs a new prescription weeks early. The prescription should of been returned to us with instructions to apply every three days and to contact prescribing doctor for appointment. It should of not been "destroyed" all the sudden. They also did not return his eczema prescription which I just had filled. My husband has been suffering all weekend until he can see his regular doctor on Monday. This has caused unnecessary financial loss and additional health setbacks during this already difficult time. This rehabilitation facility was recommended to us and we had high hopes that this place would aid and help him in his recovery. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment and I cannot recommend this facility at this time. The patient should have the right to advocate for himself without facing retaliation or dismissal. The doctor should listen without getting offended or annoyed. That is exactly what happened in this circumstance. Messing with a patient's well being just because the doctor was questioned is just down right wrong. It should not matter what a patient says. To purposely take away their medication and make them suffer knowing how it negatively effects them and also that the prescription was just filled is evil. For a center that is supposed to prioritize patient care, this level of mismanagement is unacceptable. The administration of a patient’s medication should be based solely on medical necessity, established treatment protocols, and the patient's health needs—not influenced by whether the patient has asked questions or expressed concerns. Recovery is challenging enough without added and avoidable obstacles.

I've been to better and been to worse. They provide a therapeutic environment that allows clients the opportunity to heal and grow. They feed you well, the coffee is real and usually strong (though limited to meal times,) the gym is better than most. There are ample smoke breaks and there are decent amenities. It's not the Ritz, but it's not supposed to be. They're definitely understaffed, but the team they currently have is full of dedicated and compassionate people which made all the difference in my stay and helped my find direction and hope. I'm very satisfied and grateful.🙏

Communication is horrible. I been waiting for over a month for documentation regarding monitored court ordered phone calls that I asked to have monitored, so I could provide the courts with... I have emailed my caseworker since Christmas about trying to get specific information, and now that I am no longer a client, I am completely ignored and given the runaround...I am really stressed out about how much effort the staff are putting in to supporting me and my visitation rights. I will never forget this stress and experience!!!!! While I'm there, you care! Also, the day I was discharged I was told I was to be picked up at 12, then 3, then 4, then 550pm, like there is no effort on changing this discord and it's very disrespectful and irresponsible to fail to do your best when supporting a recovering addict asking for help!!!!!! I never forget the neglect!
