They had a Hope Station at the VOA in Camden where they feed and gave clothing to the homeless on Saturday mornings. The Hope Station is s where the seeds were planted in me and I grew into having a beautiful relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That was over 6 years ago and I have been clean and sober since, I have a nice home, a decent job and I am attending school ,active at my church and I am involved in the recovery community. Im not going to give you a play by play or some incredible testimony because my story is still going strong but I've come a very long way and I 💯 give my counselor, Susan, alot of credit for sticking by me even bk in the beginning when I would be nasty and childish towards her and ill never forget when she told me that she was just waiting for me to be ready. * full disclosure im a garbage head and at the time I needed rehab terribly. And she was so patient and calm n it drove me nuts. Until one day, I walked into her office and said im ready. And from that chair in her office I left for rehab right away thanks to a combined effort of the staff, Will a former employee but mainly through her approach over months. I've had several wonderful things happen since then but most importantly I finally won my 3 year battle with CPS and gained joint custody of my son back. Now, don't get it twisted, I am far from a shiney happy person now. I've got major struggles right now but ever since that day she can't get rid of me off her caseload. Mainly because secretly im her favorite.😄 but i won't let them switch me because Susan really does care about her clients and I am sure of it for many reasons. She is always open and honest l. She's never guided me in the wrong direction. Honestly she works so hard in taking care of us clients and what we need that sometimes it feels like I'm not doing enough for my own recovery. If you're nervous about taking the next step in your recovery as I was never have been to a PHP before. She makes sure that it's a smooth transition. Honestly the only way you could think Haley or the rest of the staff isn't doing enough for you is if you're so lazy and aren't really serious about your recovery that you just expect everyone to do everything for you. I wish I could have stayed for residential instead of just detox but couldn't for personal reasons. In the short 7 days I was there I was able to begin coming out of my shell and found what I felt to be something of a home and family in a way.
