I chose Proceed school for my son Adam. From the very beginning I knew it was the right choice. Every single staff there is incredible. The teacher we were blessed with is Ms. Xiomara. She is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Truly has such a gift for what she does. Helped with every transition with my son, the whole staff did even in the end making sure Adam was well taken cared of the following year. I will never forget all the help we recieved from them. First of all, having been in different locations so far this hospital has far been the best compared to others. I know that hospitals like their psych units often get a bad rep, hence the many negative reviews. I gotta praise the cleanliness of this place. The custodians take effort in cleaning at least once a day, such as the rooms and hallways. The staff were nice and caring such as nurses, social workers, doctors, OTs and behavioral health workers. They actually treat patients as actual human beings. My stay was pretty short, but it was the first time I got out stable and content after this stay despite my minimal time here. We were at Dr. Cordero’s office around 2:00 PM, had a successful surgery that same afternoon, and by 8:00 PM we were already back home! Dr. Cordero was excellent—professional, caring, and very clear in explaining everything to us. The team at Trinitas was also amazing. I just took my daughter in, and she's been to 3 other psch units. As undesirable as any experince like this can be, they were patient , professional and not overly aggressive. They understood her pretty quick. Domonique who counseled us at the end was absolutely fantastic amd spoke directly to my struggling daughter in a way that so encouraged and lifted her up. I thibk due to the telahealth aspect people are more willing to dig into there traumas and passed. I can only hope they 1 day accept medicaid again not only for me but all the other addicts and alcoholics who cant afford insurance to 1 day be able to receive treatment in the same manor I did. Only thing was a doctor told that a stent was not possible for a blockage in the pylorus, which was not true, MSKCC doctor did tell us the opposite though. Either way, best patient care in the world. Our visit involved primarily dealing with the Same Day Surgery staff and everyone we encountered was top notch from visitor intake at parking to front desk staff in the Same day waiting area. Nurse Jackie was excellent in explaining everything she was about to do before she did which placed my mother at ease. Dr. Haggerty and the Anesthesiologist (apologies in forgetting the gentleman's name) arrived with smiles on their faces and were willing to answer any questions to further ease any anxiety my mother may have had about the day. During the process, I received text messages updating me on the day with my mother's progress. I waited in the coffee shop area and looked out at the river which was relaxing while waiting for the surgery to finish. Post op, my mother's care was managed by Nurse Rose who was just as bright with a smile on her face and very patient in helping my mother recover.
