Great place for men in recovery.

Straight & Narrow is not perfect, but neither is anyone. They have they're flaws and imperfections just like I do. If the place was absolutely perfect people would find something to complain about. It's just how it goes. I had a warm bed, hot food, and although the groups were limited, it was my choice to attend more than I was scheduled to go to. So that's what I did. People complained about group time and then complained about down time because they were bored.. I guess it's a journey that is decided individually. I opted to go to every group everyday and every opportunity I had I would volunteer for things to do to help. I was rarely bored and always looked forward to the weekdays rather than weekends because I liked the groups. They didn't keep me longer than originally discussed when I arrived as others were saying. But then again, maybe others didn't participate to their potential or maybe others didn't take the initiative to show their counselors what their intentions were. Some people want to get better and some people are court ordered to be there. The. Some, like me, were court ordered but wanted to get better. I completed a relapse prevention plan to present to my counselor and constantly asked her for more work books to better myself so she knew my intention was authentic. I guess I just felt that it was important for me to clarify my experience there because nobody pointed out anything positive, here's something. THE PLACE GAVE YOU ANOTHER CHANCE AT LIFE, IF YOU DONT TAKE IT AND IMMERSE YOURSELF INTO YOUR RECOVERY, YOUR DOOMED TO REPEAT HISTORY. The only shot we have is inside of us, the four walls doesn't mean a whole lot. it's your personal motivation.. Ask yourself what you want more and why. Thank you straight & narrow for the opportunity to take advantage of your program and I couldn't be more pleased with the majority of the staff. My counselor, Emily, was a super helpful person and important role in my early recovery. She challenged my answers, which I respect, and she also made me be accountable for my own recovery. She Cares, that's ultimately how I feel about her and I can't thank her enough. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants recovery and isn't worried more about the color of the paint or what mattress they have, that person probably doesn't want recovery to begin with....

THEY HELP IT'S RIGHT OFF THE TRAIN STATION AND A PLUS TO ME IS THE GENTLEMEN'S CLUB IS RIGHT THERE

I wasnt sure at first cause every place is different but this one actually worked for me. The staff were cool and they explained stuff clearly so I could follow along. Some things felt a bit slow but overall I left feeling like I had real progress and tools to keep going.

Yeah, so, my life was a bit of a dumpster fire before I showed up here at Paterson Recovery. 🔥🤷‍♀️ Seriously, like a bad reality TV show. But these guys? They helped me grab the extinguisher and actually put that thing out. They've got this cool way of making you face your stuff without making you feel like a total screw-up. It's tough work, no lie, but you'll probably chuckle a little along the way. Who knew getting your life back could be kinda fun? Highly recommend for anyone whose life needs a serious reboot.

Paterson Recovery had a calm, steady vibe that made the hard stuff feel doable. The staff was serious about helping, but they weren’t pushy — they explained everything clearly and made sure I felt supported through each step.The setup was clean, the schedule made sense, and I never felt lost or like just another number. I appreciated how they balanced structure with care. It gave me space to breathe, but also enough of a push to keep going. By the time I left, I felt more in control — like I had a grip on myself again.

Eva's village has been essential part of my recovery can I continue there in the aftercare program. I think it's great 💯

Evas is a decent place that genuinely cares about there clients. I'd honestly say it's the best state funded halfway house in NJ. I've been here 6 months with no real complaints. The food could be a little better but at the end of the day it's a good place. Obviously this place is state funded and the majority of clients are on drug court or parole so there is no jacuzzi, pool and horses but like I said it’s not a bad place

Veronica and Lesly both are great counselors. For years, I’ve had a hard time managing my anger. But Veronica’s women empowerment group has given me a different outlook. I’m not easily angered or triggered as I used to be. I’m able to walk away.

I came here for about about year. The staff has always met me with nothing but positivity and support. Chris was my councilor and even after graduating I still call him to check in and talk because he is truly helpful and cares about his clients. After being through several cookie cutter programs and a mommy and me the was shut down by the state, it’s nice to see a program that actually cares about their clients. They’re willing work with and connect with people as individuals, not just addicts.

I really appreciate how the Salvation Army has helped the community in providing great services . I have frequent the churches in the past and found it to be very rewarding in serving the Lord. Salvation Army has given back to so many people on a daily basis. People are grateful and thankful to them. Thank you again for your ongoing services to all.

Great place to get back on your feet again

It's hit or miss here...but always more hit than miss..I go for older appliances when counter mixers and grillers were made with real parts..not rubber and plastic

Great structure for early sobriety. If looking to get a real hold on how to STAY sober, network, steps, sponsor and home group, this is definitely the place. Common areas have a ton of space. Love this house!!!

Db house is very professionally run and operated. The expectations are a bit higher than I expected but that’s exactly the kind of structure I need in my life right now.

Dr.Garcia and Jenny the counselor did amazing job with my son Adrian Castillo. They are both very professional I'm very dedicated to their patients and very helpful to the parents. My son Adrian loved meeting them and felt very comfortable talking to both of them and that meant a lot to me. If I have to score then I would give them a 10.

I would like to thank ,all the nurses and doctors for their quick response.to my care. The nurses I had were fantastic on that night I came into the ER. They don't get much recognition, they were very knowledgeable at what they do. I came in for unknown shaking repeatedly.The doctor's were good as well. Everything was done like clock work.
