The 35 days I spent there have not only saved my life, I also now, for the first time in 43 years, LOVE myself. My counselor, Lisa, helped me put faith in myself, which I never experienced before. All the techs where awesome to me, I'd like to shout out Helen. Everyday she put a smile on and that smile is contagious, at the same time she genuinely cared everytime she asked myself, or anyone else how they where doing, that means a lot to so many of us, that were in those rooms. They provide a therapeutic environment that allows clients the opportunity to heal and grow. They feed you well, the coffee is real and usually strong (though limited to meal times,) the gym is better than most. There are ample smoke breaks and there are decent amenities. It's not the Ritz, but it's not supposed to be. They're definitely understaffed, but the team they currently have is full of dedicated and compassionate people which made all the difference in my stay and helped my find direction and hope. Shout out to vanja, dawn, julissa and the rest of the nursing staff for helping make recovery possible. Some people go to get sober. Since then I had to transfer because I moved and I thought that I would write another review to let people know that for 3 years the staff faithfully stayed true to their teachings and never once judged me or made me feel like a low piece of s@%! even when I relapsed. I never had to lie who I was and cheat my way thru the program to stay in the program. After being a client at Northeast Family Healthcare in Quakertown for 3 years, I can honestly say this clinic has been life-changing for me. Having to transfer due to my move to another County was one of the hardest parts about relocating. What sets Northeast Family Healthcare apart is their incredible staff. Every person I encountered there treated me with dignity, respect, and genuine care. In recovery settings, being treated like a human being rather than just another case makes all the difference. i do want to base this review on my therapist. I cannot emphasize enough how instrumental Anna was in my recovery journey. In my 20+ years in various treatment programs (since 1999), I've NEVER connected with a therapist the way I did with Anna from day one. For all three years, she was my rock and a consistent source of support. What made Anna exceptional was her genuine approach to therapy. She truly listened - not just nodded along, but actually remembered details from our previous sessions. During my struggles and occasional relapses, she never once responded with anger, criticism, or disappointment. Instead, she helped me explore what happened, develop better coping strategies, and work through my underlying traumas. Anna's sincerity and passion for helping others is evident in everything she does. She clearly loves her job, and that authentic care makes all the difference for clients like me. I can confidently say that without her guidance, I wouldn't be clean today. Anna, I am going to miss you so much. You clearly were a gift from God. Thankyou for being you and accepting me for me. i had so much fun in our weekly Zoom meetings. I am clean today with the help from you and never giving up on me. The staff was nice, respectful and intelligent, very compassionate, and patient also, The cooks the counselor’s The Doctors, the day-to-day staff even the janitors were all nice and helpful and respectful. Anyway, the place was always clean. I was always respected. I was able to get the help and treatment that I needed and after let’s say about 25 days day, I was discharged with a treatment plan also with numbers and addresses that I might need help with outside of the treatment center. Only the workers and patients are allowed inside. The guard stopped us at the door, but he was friendly and empathetic. He assured us that he would be well taken care of, which was true. I was particularly concerned about his safety and well-being because of the negative reviews I had read. According to the rehab policy, I couldn’t contact him, and he was only allowed to make phone calls with his counselor. He managed to make one call and was released today. I finally had the opportunity to talk to him about his experience. Our father is a retired attorney and highly intelligent, but he has struggled with addiction throughout his life. He can be belligerent and argumentative at times. I was unsure how the staff and residents would interact with him. To my delight, my father had an excellent experience at the center. He described the facility as spotlessly clean and the staff as friendly and cultured. He praised the food and mentioned that he was able to get plenty of rest. The only downside he mentioned was that patients were limited to two or three ten-minute smoke breaks outside and there were no activities to keep them occupied, making his days feel long. I found this to be a pity, considering the center’s beautiful surroundings. Fresh air and sunlight are essential for health and well-being, but that was the only complaint he had. Overall, I highly recommend this center and wish my father had chosen to stay longer. I would also like to mention that the admission process was quick and easy. The representative was very friendly and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this center, provided that you are okay with not being able to contact or speak with anyone from the center at all or hear from your loved one on a very limited basis. The staff at the time taught me to listen, learn and examine my motives. I was a horrible patient but they got through in spite of myself. We started the Valley Forge Alumni Association (me, Linda McD. and and Curt C.) in 1981.The place has done a lot of good for a lot of people. However, what I would like to recognize a few staff members who went above and beyond for my treatment. Elliott (tech), was extremely patient and attentive to the clients needs on a daily basis and always had an amazing attitude. Justin (nursing) who did my intake, my discharge, was beyond helpful in some dificult situations, and very pleasant to work with. And my counselor, Rich, who showed extraordinary patience with me, attention to detail, always honest, and helped me gain a new perspective on, not just my recovery, but the way I look at my relationships and my goals for the future. I’ve been to two different hospitals within the last three years due to the loss of my brother, & out of the experiences I’ve had, Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital stood out to me the most. The reason I’m giving a 9.5 instead of a 10 is mainly because I feel like communication between staff could be a little better at times. Other than that, I honestly had a really good experience. From the moment I got there, I felt welcomed, safe, respected, & cared for. I know I probably asked for about 10,000 things at once , but I felt comfortable enough to ask because the staff made me feel like I was at home rather than just another patient. I especially want to recognize the C2 floor because the team there really made my stay what it was. I had an amazing team, & I could tell that the staff genuinely cared about the people they were taking care of. Everybody has different personalities & different ways of doing things, but they were still respectful, helpful, patient, & willing to work with us. I honestly felt like C2 had one of the best teams there. While everyone else wanted to go to B2 because they thought C2 was “boring,” I actually enjoyed being on C2.We had puzzles, books, activities, conversations, & little things that helped make the environment feel peaceful. Sometimes you don’t need a bunch of excitement when you’re already going through a lot mentally. Having a calmer environment gave me space to think, rest, & focus on myself. I also want to recognize the lunch crew because they were part of making the experience feel welcoming too. From the people working on the floor to the people helping with meals, I felt like everyone was doing their part. I noticed that the staff are not robots. They’re human beings who have a lot of patients to care for, & even when they couldn’t get to everyone immediately, I could see that they were trying their best. The facility itself was also one of the cleanest hospitals I’ve been in. That stood out to me because cleanliness can really affect how comfortable & safe someone feels while they’re receiving care. The staff were also very helpful, & I personally never experienced or witnessed a client being mistreated, abused, or neglected during my stay. As a Certified Peer Specialist, advocacy is something that is very important to me. If I ever saw someone being treated unfairly, I know I would want to speak up for them. I also understand that people can have different experiences, so I would never tell someone that their experience didn’t happen just because I personally didn’t witness it. I can only speak on what I experienced, & my experience was that the staff I interacted with were willing to help, followed the rules, & did their best to care for the patients. I recently left Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital, & I honestly left with a grateful heart. I’ve been to two different hospitals over the past few years during some very difficult moments in my life, & Brooke Glen truly stood out to me. I felt welcomed, safe, heard, & cared for—not just like another patient. I especially want to recognize the C2 team. ❤️ The staff were patient, kind, helpful, & genuinely made me feel comfortable. The little conversations, laughs, help, & even just knowing someone was there made a bigger difference than they probably realize. C2 will always be the floor I remember most. When I found First Children’s Services, it was as if the clouds parted to let the sun shine through. The staff at First Children’s are compassionate and highly trained to help my son be the best version of himself. They are my lifeline and I am so grateful to have them in my court advocating for my son’s overall success. I honestly can’t recommend First Children’s Services enough.
