My pregnancy is high risk due to a numerous of reasons. They decided to cancel of my visits so at 20 weeks I am getting no prenatal care. I ve had 2-3 visits for this entire pregnancy. Did I mention I m high risk and have an internal bleeding. I should ve had 10 office visits and a few ultra sounds but since I m a Hispanic woman they don t care about my health or that of my fetus. Worst experience ever. I guess I ll be having my baby at home and will continue to go without any prenatal care thanks St Vincent OBGYN!

Accepted Insurance

Saint Vincent Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Nurses were very rude and disrespectful. Every visit implies waiting for five hours total, waiting for the doctor to come in (which he hasn’t).

This has to do with Reliant Medical in Auburn and St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Ma. My wife had been complaining to her Doctor at Reliant in Auburn about stomach pain for about 1 year and not feeling good. Well, the Doctor and her Physician Assistant fluffed things off and said it might just be integestion. They finally did a CT scan and in September of 2024 she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. If they did a scan when she started complaining about stomach issues, maybe they could have cought it early. I think some of these doctors need more education about these issues. She went to Brigham and Womens hospital in Boston for her first hospital stay, they had to put a biliary tube in her because she was not moving her bowels. I have to say it is worth going to Boston, the Doctors and Nurses were fantastic. After her stay there, she was sent home and started receiving chemotherapy. She had 5 sessions but couldnt tolerate the chemo. Her next stay was at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester for about 10 days. Then she went to a rehab for another 12 days. In the meantime St. Vincent changed her biliary tube and after about a week it fell out. So now back to St. Vincent to get it redone. She finally came home for about 2 months. Once again she went to St. Vincent to get it replaced again. this time no bile was going into her drainage bag. Only some blood was going into it. I'm sure the incompetent doctors at St. Vincent must have put the tube in the wrong position, but they wont admit it. So she had to go back to St. Vincent to see what the problem was. Now, she wasn't in any pain when she went there, but as soon as they start pumping her up with drugs she had awful nights sleeping. All I wanted them to do when we went there was to check the biliary tube, that's it. And they could have sent her back home, but no. they put her in ICU and of course they started her on morphine. Well, thanks to incompetent staff and doctors at St. Vincent Hospital my wife passed away after only three days there. I blame these uneducated Doctors. I think they had to kill her because of their mistakes. But I have no way to prove it. I just went to St. Vincent for a minor test, and I didnt even want to go there for this because I was in fear that they would kill me also. They are the biggest lyers out there. Next time I need anything I will be going to a better hospital.

X-ray is a joke!!! They run at least an hour behind and do not bother to call you. I waited an hour and a half the first time and an hour the second time. They have no respect for ANYONE’s time!!! Absolute JOKE. Do NOT ever go there if you have a job or somewhere to be. Disgusted…

I recently spent a week in the psychiatric ward because I was sectioned by my psychiatrist and I'm so thankful she did that. Not only did she save my life, but the staff and psychiatrist in the ward saved my life. All the staff were caring and did their absolute best to care for everyone as best they could. The other patients were incredibly awesome and I felt like I had others who related to what I was going through so I didn't feel alone during my stay. Group therapy was also particularly helpful and something that is absolutely amazing. I was well watched after and felt safe from harming myself. When I was finally discharged I felt like I had a refreshed outlook on my life and I felt like I revived kind and adequate care. I honestly don't get why people treat these people like garbage when they're doing the best they can. I swear some people treat this place and other hospitals like a damn hotel and think they can be jerks to staff. The people giving one stars are full of bs.

The medical staff inside seem to be fine, but the billing office is such a clown show that, if I were shot on the sidewalk outside the hospital, I'd tell anyone that bothered to come help to let me die rather than take me in there. It's not worth the headache to deal with that level of incompetence. Oh, and the billing office is in Texas, so good luck if you have a problem. It took over 6 months, my HR department, and a call to a patient advocate at the insurer to sort out the problem.

I do not recommend giving birth at this facility. Our experience was frustrating and deeply unprofessional. We arrived at 6 AM as scheduled — a time that had been confirmed and planned for an entire week. Upon arrival, the staff claimed they had called us three times and left a voicemail. I checked my phone records thoroughly — no missed calls, no voicemails. When we asked to speak with a supervisor, we were instead met by another staff member who was just as dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than taking accountability, they defended the team and acted as if a nonexistent voicemail was a reasonable excuse. To make matters worse, we had driven over an hour to be there, only to be told we’d have to wait several more hours. This level of disregard, especially in a setting meant to provide care and support during childbirth, is completely unacceptable.

My wife had a colonoscopy am appointment she went in to room to have procedure after lunch and long wait time in waiting room. 2 hours went by went up to desk to ask for update on my wife and said she is still in room will let you know when it is done. 4pm comes rolling along and no doctor, assistant or any other staff have come out to tell me how my wife is doing. Finally at 5pm when doctors were going home the male doctors assistant came out and said didn't the doctor come out and say anything to you about the complications that accord and your wife is in the emergency room and I stated no. No one came out and said anything to me I've been here the whole time! So went to emergency room to see my wife and it took them 4 hours wait time to take a fast portable X-ray!! Pretty sad and want to comment about the appearance of emergency room and staff. Emergency room was very dirty pretty embarrassing, most of the staff was walking around like they were walking in the park with no concern at all and one doctor for the whole emergency room! Comment about other problems I had. I had a lung test on 3rd floor north and the female doctor or tester was arrogant and rude when myself or my wife asked questions and we were the only ones there at the time! Comment about overall st Vincent hospital is if you can go elsewhere please do because st Vincent and UMass Worcester are about the same the hospitals are dirty doctors and staff are horrible and most likely you will be worst off after going to these hospitals! Remember these hospitals have one #1 goal and that goal is to MAKE MONEY PERIOD!

I arrived with a heart issue at six AM. I had to be stuck four times before anyone could find a vein. After three hours I finally got hooked up to a heart monitor. As a matter of fact I had to make the suggestion that maybe I should be attached to a monitor. I was told the ER only has one doctor to cover everyone’s needs . Seems pretty stupid to me. As I understand it there isn’t a hospital in Worcester that has a better grade than a “D” in patient safety and satisfaction. For all the money medical service charge and bring into the hospital but they only have one doctor in an emergency dept. How do you run an ER with only one doctor???? The city government is the good ole boys club and I guess all hospitals in this city works the same way. Totally disappointed in the care I’ve received here. So now to the officials that run this place I love to hear all your useless excuses.

I am sorry your hospital staff is lesser than what it was or should be. Yet I am sure some of your staff was fired due to not taking a useless and harmless covid vaccine which caused more harm than good. On top of that the masks which are useless since a micron of a virus..most any virus is about 6 microns. The opening in a basic mask outside of a surgical mask is about 80 microns. So a virus so small...that can pass through a mask of a microscopic opening much larger than the actually virus is a mute point. It does not work. Something that is one inch will flow through something easily that is 80 inches. Then it was said it might be carried on water vapor..hence your breathe..that would still be 60 microns...and still smaller than 80. A mask stops bacteria which is larger than the opening of a microscopic hole in a mask to not allow infections. The propaganda of the covid Vax made money for doctors and hospitals all over the world. Prove me wrong!!! You cannot and won't because it's all a lie. Hospitals made money through the vaccines along with placing the death of people on death certificates it was caused by covid. Yet another lie. If money is all you care about and not the care and health of people...yiu are doing great. Since you have a wonderful atrium all can view...and your lies will soon be exposed. You all made your bed in these shams...now you lie within it as well. May God have mercy upon your souls. P.S. the reason for sending this is because my father who is 86 had a day procedure done and had to stay overnight. When I had to get him the next day I was told to call so my father would be brought out to see me to take him home. I had called several times to let them know I was at the entrance and was told...he is already outside waiting for you...? For 15 plus minutes I could not find my father due to the fact he was dropped off like a sack of potatoes before I even arrived at the hospital. Then a nurse on the phone said...go and find him...he is there. That was great to hear since the lack of care for a patient was disregarded to be alone waiting to be picked up by myself for his care. I don't understand the lack of care for people in this world...more so by a hospital that vowed the hippocratic oath to be such a way. St Vincent's along with all other hospitals profited from the lies of covid deaths and money making on the kickback from vaccines. Not including pushing useless and harmless drugs to perpetuate on going sickness of all people. You have no shame...not all but MOST. You care is financial and not of care. That is simply disgusting!

I had hernia repair surgery at saint vincent hospital and was treated better than any other hospital has ever treated me. From my consult appointment, the surgery and follow up, I felt comfortable, informed and listened to. The day of my surgery I was treated like I was their most important patient! Everyone there that day was excellent, so attentive! I never have to wait long in the lobby to be called in for any appointments either and the doctors are always on time and on schedule!

Read all the bad reviews, they're all true, and the norm. If you have a positive experience here you are truly lucky or just don't know any better. Its pretty telling that such a large hospital actually pays attention to what people are saying on Google, they say oh we're so sorry but it's all a charade of smoke and mirrors. I could go on and on about it but it's a for profit hospital, if it doesn't make tenet money they won't do it and if they can cut corners in literally any way they already do. I tell anyone with complaints the real reasons behind them and to kindly not come here again and go to UMass, that goes for staff and patient complaints. Don't work here, don't come here. SVH delays care, doesn't clean properly and tenet takes advantage of foreign doctors visa statuses to get mostly poor quality residents from foreign medical schools who are grossly underpaid who struggle to adapt and are kept on a leash if they actually want to do something the right way because of all the restrictions placed on them by ultimately profits and staffing. I feel bad for them because they went through so much to pass medical school and get to where they are but they are not shown the right way they're shown the tenet way. All the staff want to do right but you can't turn dog shit into gold by spray painting it and tenet would beg to differ. If you or a loved one unfortunately find themselves at this institution please please please request a transfer to UMass or Boston immediately before it's too late. If you don't listen to me, you'll find out the hard way. I don't care if you're homeless with no insurance or a billionaire, you will get improper care here WHETHER YOU REALIZE IT OR NOT and that I would bet my life on.

My Mother in law had surgery performed at this hospital by Dr. Amos Adelowo and she was extremely satisfied. The level of attention and care by All staff members was exceptional. The hospital is convenient, kept clean and nice waiting areas for family members along with the walking area. Dr. Adelowo had excellent bedside manners and is a fantastic doctor. Would highly recommend to Family and Friends.
