It is such a great IOP. All the staff are great and the program itself is fantastic. By far the definitely the best program I have been to. I give it a 10 out of 10. RIP JUSTIN Louie U 3 years ago Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County. 7 years ago

We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. I went there following the covid lockdown once places started Opening up. I was in rough shape. They nursed me back to health. Mentally with groups and 1 on 1 therapy. Physical exercise with revive and the motivation to move a muscle and change a though. Spiritually with their holistic approach to healing. I learned to step out of my comfort zone there because there was no judgement. I learned peactices that I still utilize till this day. Meditation, yoga, reiki, acupuncture etc. And they have a boat. Doing a group on the boat was one of the most memorable moments in treatment for me. Recovery is a journey. And I'm grateful that Lake Ave Recovery has been a huge part of my journey. New Director. My psychiatrist got an assistant, Nicole and she is amazing. Anytime I need anything she is on top of it. I'm with the same therapist and our relationship is getting more and more trusting. I encourage people to try this place out. Their partial hospitalization program is great for adults and adolescents. They are separate. Update, it's now 2023 and theres a new director for a couple of years now.I have to be honest and say this place has gone downhill. They barely offer groups and most of them are on Zoom which in my opinion is so impersonal. I switched my pharmacy for the first time in over 10 years and they haven't updated my chart so my psychiatrist sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. This might not sound like a big deal but I use medminder a mailing service and all my meds come prepackaged by dose so having to pick up certain meds in a bottle and put them in each little container for a month or two defeats the purpose of having them prepackaged for me. If you're just looking for a therapist and not groups or a psychiatrist then you will probably be okay here but it you're like me and need more help than that you will be at a loss. My therapist is great so I won't leave but I thought they have declined enough update my review. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second.
