I went to Washburn house from December 27-January 7 to their detox program. I was 100 percent going to do their CSS but unfortunately there were not enough beds for women at that time. So I was sent to another CSS. My 12 days at Washburn completely transformed my life. This was my first time ever being in rehab before so I was beyond terrified. When I arrived at Washburn the Staff was amazing to me. They made me as comfortable as possible and let me know I could talk to them whenever I needed to. My caseworker LJ was absolutely amazing. She was so smart, compassionate and just supported me so much. As were all the other case workers. You could tell they really cared about their job and wanted everyone to succeed. The daily meetings at Washburn were great and they were the same as the meetings that I got at the CSS that I transferred to to be honest. And that is saying a lot because detox they know that you are sick and they are just trying to help you get through the day. But I got the best tools and ways to cope at my time at Washburn. The day to day floor staff was also so nice. They always checked in on you and made sure you were ok. When I went to the new CSS not a day went by that I didn t add Washburn to my gratitude list. I honestly believe if I didn t go to Washburn first I wouldn t have gotten the positive and life changing experience that I got. I am 27 days sober and I plan on staying sober for the rest of my life, with a lot of hard work ahead of me. My family and me will forever be grateful to Washburn and If you are ready to do the work then you can get so much out of this program. I mean there are hard to find the words to thank a place that you feel like helped give you your life back!

The Washburne house is hands down the best DETOX/CSS In the State. I ve been to probably all of them and I ve never had a better experience. I went in October 2024 broken, lost my spouse of 20 yrs my business, my truck, and my apartment. I was negative about my future and ready to not even try. When I left I went to the facility I wanted to go, I was positive, and for the first time of many times trying in the past Im really serious and ready to stay sober. I can t say enough or express how much the BHTS CASEWORKER/CLINICIANS MDS/NURSING, and the kitchen and House Kitchen staff have made an impact on my stay. I would and will recommend anyone who wants to get there life together and seriously change the Washburn house is a place that will make you feel welcome and give you all the tools and support to continue and get you where you need to go on your journey to sobriety. On a final note I m going back in 6 months and apply to work part time as a BHT so I can give back the same experience and help to the next person in need also feel the same as the Washburn House made me feel. This is gonna be a lengthy review but hopefully it’ll be helpful to someone. I always read reviews of detox’s before I go to them (sounds horrible, I’ve only been to 3 lmao). Anyway, I’m always so anxious for the unknown and scared, so I read reviews, these one were mixed. This place is an amazing detox. I have wicked bad anxiety and I felt so comfortable here. I almost didn’t wanna leave. I only went for detox but the people I met in those 7 days are friends for life. The case workers such as Kim and Mark are amazing people. They work with you. If you act like an asshole you’ll probably have a tougher time. If you show respect you’ll be given respect. The rooms are like a 5 star hotel, showers huge, 2 tv’s for each roommate with private headphones. Like 5 tv’s in different spaces around the building if you don’t wanna isolate in your room. The food was freaking amazing, shout out to the hard working kitchen staff. If they had a restaurant I’d go lol. The detox groups are short and sweet but that’s because most people feel like shit. If it’s nice out, they take you outside to chill, walk, play basketball, cornhole, etc. oh and shoutout to Treasure who was always finding a fun activity for us. They also have an art therapy class which was super fun. As well as reiki and yoga being offered. No other detox I’ve been to has offered stuff like this. Yeah it sucks not having your phone but it’s a time to focus on you. You get to call your loved ones 3 days a week. You really can’t beat that. I’ve been to detox’s where you don’t get to make phone calls. If you isolate in your room here, yeah your gonna have a shitty experience. If you work the program, it’s a great detox. Thank you Haven for taking care of me during my stay there. Hope this review helps someone decide, seriously as someone who gets so nervous to go to new places, so glad I went here. ❤️

I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient.Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

Blue Hills has been a great experience for me. The staff has been so great, welcoming, and supportive from the very start. The therapists are wonderful and speak clearly and intellectually making it an easy experience to learn things and grow during the program. The housing is awesome too. Comfy spaces, roomy, and nice. There’s a bonfire pit, basketball court and they give you phone privileges after 3 days, and walking privileges after 7! I highly recommend blue hills

They have many services and programs like intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient detoxification, dialectical behavioral therapy, Family Support Services, Parenting Groups, individual groups, family counseling, and dual diagnosis counseling. Just to name a few. Adcare Outpatient substance use treatment allows you to attend rehab programs while still attending to your daily responsibilities. They changed my life. The staff are caring and nonjudgemental. If you're struggling, give Adcare a try.

Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. *Update: It's now 2025 and there's has been a lot of changes at Worcester Arbour. New Director. My psychiatrist got an assistant, Nicole and she is amazing. Anytime I need anything she is on top of it. I'm with the same therapist and our relationship is getting more and more trusting. I encourage people to try this place out. Their partial hospitalization program is great for adults and adolescents. They are separate.Update, it's now 2023 and theres a new director for a couple of years now.I have to be honest and say this place has gone downhill. They barely offer groups and most of them are on Zoom which in my opinion is so impersonal. I switched my pharmacy for the first time in over 10 years and they haven't updated my chart so my psychiatrist sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. This might not sound like a big deal but I use medminder a mailing service and all my meds come prepackaged by dose so having to pick up certain meds in a bottle and put them in each little container for a month or two defeats the purpose of having them prepackaged for me. If you're just looking for a therapist and not groups or a psychiatrist then you will probably be okay here but it you're like me and need more help than that you will be at a loss. My therapist is great so I won't leave but I thought they have declined enough update my review.

I'm not sure people understand the difficulties with making a program like this work. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second. Considering the constraints and low pay the clinicians go through to just try to help people, the added digital slaps aren't really necessary. I've had no issues and have had no complaints in dealing with Dan or the staff here.

Hands down this program saved my child's life...... I could go on and on about all of the staff and how amazing they are very caring and professional ! I am an overbearing mom who needs to have the answers, I call.10 times a day to check on my child.And never once did I ever feel like I was being pushed to the side because I can get annoying.... Which Is the best feeling ever because i'm trusting the care of my precious child To a bunch of strangers. Some of the reviews on here could be pretty scary for a parent trying to find their child some help.But I'm telling you from one parent to another.If it wasn't for this program I don't know where my daughter would be or us as a family.Thank you so much MYR For everything you've done for us and saving my child's life! Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County.

Addiction treatment at it's best! Really great people, super helpful; love the IOP groups and the individual counseling - the counselors are all really great! They also offer Early Recovery support groups, days and evenings, and that is really helpful, to have that available around my work schedule! Overall, and excellent experience!
