About The Willing House

The Willing House is a sober living house for adult men and women in Worcester, Massachusetts. This is a peer-based independent living community certified by the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing (MASH). The home is ideal for clients transitioning from inpatient addiction and mental health care back to independent living in the community.

Most sober living houses use a monthly rent structure and don’t accept insurance. Although individuals don’t receive addiction treatment at The Willing House, the house partners with a nearby addiction treatment center. Clients can participate in the comprehensive addiction treatment programs there, including day and evening intensive outpatient programs.

A Safe and Sober Environment

The house provides a safe and sober environment for individuals in recovery. You’ll feel supported in this close-knit peer community that offers fellowship and accountability. To ensure compliance with the program, you’ll have daily breathalyzer tests and random drug screening.

There are comfortable private and shared rooms. There are communal living areas, laundry facilities and a kitchen. The environment is quiet, conducive to sobriety and healing.

Structured and Supportive Atmosphere

Residents of the house have expressed their appreciation for the community, structure and accountability the house provides. Many have mentioned the safe, clean environment, as well as the effectiveness of the house rules and supportive peers.

You’ll be held to a high standard and must participate in household responsibilities and adhere to house rules, such as curfews. You’ll be encouraged to participate in structured daytime activities, such as volunteer work or employment. Staff is available for house oversight and individual guidance.

The house is near downtown Worcester, which offers public transportation, community resources and access to 12 step meetings. There are nearby opportunities for sober activities and outdoor recreation.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

A sober living home offers a supportive environment where individuals in recovery provide mutual support as they share household responsibilities. Residents participate in 12-step programs and offer accountability for sobriety. To remain in men's or women's sober living, individuals must remain drug and alcohol-free, contribute to chores, attend support group meetings, and help cover expenses to live in the home.

Treatments

A person who has alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) builds up a physical tolerance to alcohol. If they try to stop drinking, they experience withdrawal symptoms. Treatment is available for this condition, through alcohol rehab in Massachusetts. Treatment options include AA, detox, counseling, medication, residential programs, and outpatient treatment. Social and family support systems are crucial during and after treatment of any kind.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.
