I was at the Betty Ford before this, and it was absolute garbage in comparison, both in quality of care and quality of the property. Every single staff member at fernside absolutely cares about patients and the staff outnumber and patients - which is extremely rare. Betty Ford was something like four patients per staff member. Here there’s typically 3MD’s, 3-4 nurses, multiple therapists, and an amazing private chef. At fernside you have industry leading experts with resources directly from Harvard meeting as a team to diagnose, underlying health conditions, and treat various addictions. You meet with them all individually multiple times per week and they speak with each other to discuss mental health, medications, etc. It’s like the show house. They have the time to do so because there are typically 4-6 patients and a maximum of 9. If you want a full breakdown and evaluation with individualized care, this is the place for you. Heywood Hospital in my opinion is a Gem. Unlike other hospitals, Heywood is perfectly located away from chaotic traffic and congested busy streets. Including one-way streets as is the case in Boston or Worcester. In addition, Heywood provides plenty of free parking with cover for it's patients. The hospital is very clean, updated, and well maintained inside and out. The restrooms appear to be cleaned on a regular. The staff here have always been polite, professional, courteous and willing to help. Today I had an Xray scheduled and while at the patient registration I met Alice H. Alice has been working here for fifty-five years and was so friendly, kind, and helpful. Instead of given me verbal directions to the Xray department (It's been a while since my last visit) Alice H got up from her desk and accompanied me to the Xray area. Great lady I wish all staff were as kind and helpful as Alice H. I would also like to note the gentleman who preformed my Xray was equally as nice. 30 seconds to a minute and the entire process was complete. The company (CHC) does take my insurance and I was unsure why they would not allow me to see a specific dr in the same clinic but allowed other ones. Doug the call reprisentative, agreed and confirmed the company does take that insurance he took it to the manager of community health connections and got things handled for me, CHC delt with the insurance company directly. I mean this in the best way & you already know that's how it works ideally. I just want to encourage people to not stereotype it as one socioeconomic group or another. But yeah mostly white. The groups are beneficial, the therapy is superb, and the staff is second to none. The facility is new as of writing this and provides a calm and relaxing environment to focus on your recovery and self. As with all programs like this you get what you put into it. Cant speak highly enough about the staff. They will be there for you anytime and guide you threw the hurdles of addiction and mental health issues. Thank you to Neakaug and their staff I cant praise you enough. I hope this this program doesnt depart from an excellent program they have working. I had been to a dozen other treatment facilities and from the moment I got here I knew things would be different. They cared about me when I couldn't care for myself and they provided the structure and encouragement I needed to heal. The entire staff genuinely cares about each and every patient, from the behavioral techs to the CEO. In terms of actual care the clinical director and my therapist, April, has literally changed my life. I had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disease for years and she recognized this and started to treat me for PTSD. My medications and treatment were directly focused on this diagnosis and finally my outlook on myself and what was possible had changed. Slowly over time i have been able to conquer my emotional and mental struggles through therapy and the coping skills I was taught. The individual therapy sessions which are done weekly are unparalleled in terms of quality and depth. Why I worked on my internal struggles I was introduced to the best recovery community I have been apart of here in Nashua, NH. We are everywhere up here and we are thriving and I truly feel a part of something bigger than myself. I am so happy with this place I have decided to stay up here.
