I was at the Betty Ford before this, and it was absolute garbage in comparison, both in quality of care and quality of the property. Every single staff member at fernside absolutely cares about patients and the staff outnumber and patients - which is extremely rare. Betty Ford was something like four patients per staff member. Here there’s typically 3MD’s, 3-4 nurses, multiple therapists, and an amazing private chef. At fernside you have industry leading experts with resources directly from Harvard meeting as a team to diagnose, underlying health conditions, and treat various addictions. You meet with them all individually multiple times per week and they speak with each other to discuss mental health, medications, etc. It’s like the show house. They have the time to do so because there are typically 4-6 patients and a maximum of 9. If you want a full breakdown and evaluation with individualized care, this is the place for you. I mean this in the best way & you already know that's how it works ideally. I just want to encourage people to not stereotype it as one socioeconomic group or another. But yeah mostly white. The groups are beneficial, the therapy is superb, and the staff is second to none. The facility is new as of writing this and provides a calm and relaxing environment to focus on your recovery and self. As with all programs like this you get what you put into it. Cant speak highly enough about the staff. They will be there for you anytime and guide you threw the hurdles of addiction and mental health issues. Thank you to Neakaug and their staff I cant praise you enough. I hope this this program doesnt depart from an excellent program they have working. I have never experienced the level of kindness and professionalism from any hospital, Doctor, or nurse in my 57 years on this earth. I was visiting from out of state and suddenly had a scary heart issue. Upon arrival, I was wheeled into the ER before the admission lady even had my bracelet on. The nurses (every one of them) particularly Julie, were exceptional, calming me down, being extremely gentle ( especially with the IV) and stayed with me. The ER doc O’Brian, was there within minutes giving the medication orders and then checking on me every 30 seconds. The cardiologist (Reinhold?) also arrived quickly and explained everything that was happening or going to happen with a calm and easy demeanor. After that, the hospital doc (Tuliano?) arrived and had already read my whole history and spent a great deal of time with me. They decided to admit me and from the second I left the ER, the entire 4th floor staff was over accommodating and kind. Shout out to Jake for never rushing through questions and providing me with an in depth explanation of what was happening to me…shoutout to Sophia for not barging in all night long but quietly giving me enough attention so I could get a good nights sleep, and huge shout out to Julie and the other ER staff for their unbelievable kindness and patience . The entire staff genuinely cares about each and every patient, from the behavioral techs to the CEO. In terms of actual care the clinical director and my therapist, April, has literally changed my life. I had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disease for years and she recognized this and started to treat me for PTSD. My medications and treatment were directly focused on this diagnosis and finally my outlook on myself and what was possible had changed. Slowly over time i have been able to conquer my emotional and mental struggles through therapy and the coping skills I was taught. The individual therapy sessions which are done weekly are unparalleled in terms of quality and depth. Why I worked on my internal struggles I was introduced to the best recovery community I have been apart of here in Nashua, NH.
