It’s a detox not day camp. If you are truly being sick and tired of being sick and tired and you want help getting clean and sober I would suggest going to Farnum. This place definitely saved my life. If you are looking for a place that will help in your recovery then please reach out to them. I didn’t get it right the first time so I’ve been there twice over the course of 5 years but both times I’ve been there all of the staff were all very helpful and caring. Ive moved and had to switch clinics multiple times over that period and can easily say that they all have their positives and negatives to them. I’ve found that most of the negatives only feel that way because as addicts we are typically resistant to big changes in the way we have to live whether it be getting up early in the day, Keeping required counseling appointments or group attendance where it should be (100% me. Sorry ctc 😅), or not being able to infinately increase our dose at an unchecked speed. I can 100% say that Manchester CTC has an amazing staff. My favorite of any clinic I’ve been a patient to. I havent met anybody here that would not move mountains to help us whenever humanly possible. My case worker kim spent months with me last year helping me to find and sign up for an impatient program that fit my specific needs and never once got impatient or frustrated when I pushed it out further and further to avoid going. I also recently have been lucky enough to meet the director here named amy. This woman is a godsend!! I live about 30 minutes from CTC and my insurance had cancelled my medical rides temporarily waiting on paperwork that could not be filled out in time and amy reached out to me and has ordered me uber rides to the clinic and back home twice now while waiting for this situation to be fixed. Also went out of her way to find a solution for my paperwork just to make sure that i would be able to keep coming to the clinic and stay healthy. From the security guard outside, the women at the front dest, nursing staff, to the farthest hidden counselors office In the back of CTC Ive only ever come across people that genuinely want to help you as much as possible and are always happy / polite / encouraging. They provide ample counseling and psychiatric support. The counselors, psychiatrists and assistants always return my calls promptly, are willing to talk in depth whenever there is an issue or question, create custom therapy approaches, and try to solve special medication needs like swallowing difficulties. Regarding another review saying that support is not given unless you are in a DBT group, this has not been the case with us. --------------------------- So far for my teen its only issue is timing: It takes a while to get set up with a team. However, mental health providers are in VERY short supply everywhere these days especially since COVID, so I tend to believe that is inevitable. Now that the team is in place (a therapist, a DBT therapist and a psychiatric NP), my teen is very happy with all of them, which is great. In fact my teen didn't even want to move on from the temporary therapist who was great. And the very first medication recommendations made by the psychiatrist were exactly what was needed. Caleb 1 week ago UPDATE 2 YEARS LATER: I just need to express how amazing MHC continues to be for our teen, who has a wide range of mental health issues. They provide ample counseling and psychiatric support. The counselors, psychiatrists and assistants always return my calls promptly, are willing to talk in depth whenever there is an issue or question, create custom therapy approaches, and try to solve special medication needs like swallowing difficulties. Regarding another review saying that support is not given unless you are in a DBT group, this has not been the case with us. --------------------------- So far for my teen its only issue is timing: It takes a while to get set up with a team. However, mental health providers are in VERY short supply everywhere these days especially since COVID, so I tend to believe that is inevitable. Now that the team is in place (a therapist, a DBT therapist and a psychiatric NP), my teen is very happy with all of them, which is great. In fact my teen didn't even want to move on from the temporary therapist who was great. And the very first medication recommendations made by the psychiatrist were exactly what was needed. The staff are nice, the food is good, the living situation does require patience but overall it is good. You will be accepted into a community and your case manager will help you out with resources. Halcyon Caskey 1 year ago I cannot say enough good about Aware Recovery Care going back to February 2023. My first involvement was with their In-Home Detox team consisting of RN Jenn Aguire and nurses Tabitha and Krystal who came to my home for at least seven straight days to get me detoxed. This was critical to me as at the time I was unwilling to enter in residence detox having had a negative experience in the past. I credit them with saving my life. Their kind and compassionate care showed me that there was indeed some hope for me going forward. Following detox Aware counselors Sam Hayes and Amber Gelinas continued home visits working very closely with me in keeping me on the road to sobriety. I also received monthly assessments by an RN and a session with a Psychiatrist. After six months my insurance lapsed but thankfully I was eligible to enter their Alumni Program consisting of multiple Zoom meetings during the week with Aware professionals. In addition they also host various events in different locations with other Alumni of the program. You always feel that Aware is right there with you every step of the way. I could carry on much longer but let me finish by saying that I consider the Aware professionals I have dealt with to be more than just counselors but as friends as well. I am welcome back in the lives of my children and most importantly my Grandchildren. On November 24 I will be collecting my Nine Month sobriety chip at my AA Home Group.
