It’s a detox not day camp. If you are truly being sick and tired of being sick and tired and you want help getting clean and sober I would suggest going to Farnum. This place definitely saved my life. If you are looking for a place that will help in your recovery then please reach out to them. I didn’t get it right the first time so I’ve been there twice over the course of 5 years but both times I’ve been there all of the staff were all very helpful and caring. Primary care is ok, but the specialty care is amazing, especially the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) division. I couldn't be happier with them. They are super responsive, understanding, and caring. Dental is top-notch, too. Manchester may be small in terms of hospitals, considering the VA, but they have big hearts to serve their veterans. Ive moved and had to switch clinics multiple times over that period and can easily say that they all have their positives and negatives to them. I’ve found that most of the negatives only feel that way because as addicts we are typically resistant to big changes in the way we have to live whether it be getting up early in the day, Keeping required counseling appointments or group attendance where it should be (100% me. Sorry ctc 😅), or not being able to infinately increase our dose at an unchecked speed. I can 100% say that Manchester CTC has an amazing staff. My favorite of any clinic I’ve been a patient to. I havent met anybody here that would not move mountains to help us whenever humanly possible. My case worker kim spent months with me last year helping me to find and sign up for an impatient program that fit my specific needs and never once got impatient or frustrated when I pushed it out further and further to avoid going. I also recently have been lucky enough to meet the director here named amy. This woman is a godsend!! I live about 30 minutes from CTC and my insurance had cancelled my medical rides temporarily waiting on paperwork that could not be filled out in time and amy reached out to me and has ordered me uber rides to the clinic and back home twice now while waiting for this situation to be fixed. Also went out of her way to find a solution for my paperwork just to make sure that i would be able to keep coming to the clinic and stay healthy. From the security guard outside, the women at the front dest, nursing staff, to the farthest hidden counselors office In the back of CTC Ive only ever come across people that genuinely want to help you as much as possible and are always happy / polite / encouraging. However, mental health providers are in VERY short supply everywhere these days especially since COVID, so I tend to believe that is inevitable. Now that the team is in place (a therapist, a DBT therapist and a psychiatric NP), my teen is very happy with all of them, which is great. Halcyon Caskey 1 year ago I cannot say enough good about Aware Recovery Care going back to February 2023. My first involvement was with their In-Home Detox team consisting of RN Jenn Aguire and nurses Tabitha and Krystal who came to my home for at least seven straight days to get me detoxed. This was critical to me as at the time I was unwilling to enter in residence detox having had a negative experience in the past. I credit them with saving my life. Their kind and compassionate care showed me that there was indeed some hope for me going forward. Following detox Aware counselors Sam Hayes and Amber Gelinas continued home visits working very closely with me in keeping me on the road to sobriety. I also received monthly assessments by an RN and a session with a Psychiatrist. After six months my insurance lapsed but thankfully I was eligible to enter their Alumni Program consisting of multiple Zoom meetings during the week with Aware professionals. In addition they also host various events in different locations with other Alumni of the program. You always feel that Aware is right there with you every step of the way. I could carry on much longer but let me finish by saying that I consider the Aware professionals I have dealt with to be more than just counselors but as friends as well. I am welcome back in the lives of my children and most importantly my Grandchildren. On November 24 I will be collecting my Nine Month sobriety chip at my AA Home Group. Julia Hennessy 7 months ago Based on my personal experience, I would 100% recommend GateHouse to anyone struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. I've been struggling with substance abuse for many years with bouts of sobriety in between. I've seen my fair share of treatment center. None, in my opinion, compare to GateHouse. 1. The clinical team is top notch and go above and beyond to help educate clients and teach them new coping skills to ensure their success in recovery. Hunter (my clinician) met with me weekly and was a rock for me during times of uncertainty. She listens without judgement, shares based on experience and offers suggestions on new ways to improve my mental health. 2. Josh (Clinical Director) is a prime example of his profession. He has successfully helped my fiance and I work through past traumas, stemmed from our use, in weekly one-on-one Couple's Therapy sessions. There have been times where I've met with Josh when I was unsure of something and he's eager to be helpful. He leaves the door to his office wide open for clients. That says so much and I have a lot of respect for him and what he does for this community. 3. The curriculum is outstanding. It's informative, educational and absolutely attainable if put to use. Clinicians facilitate these groups, breaking the information down so that everyone has an understanding of what is being taught. I always leave Brittney and Geno's groups with a different, more positive perspective and new skills to practice in my daily affairs to better myself as a woman in recovery. 4. GateHouse Case Managers advocate for their clients and take time with each one in setting up aftercare plans and relapse prevention plans. They truly care for the success of their clients. Marcus (my Case Worker) has helped me attain appointments that better served my health. He has educated me on sober living and my options all while encouraging me to make choices that will be best for me. He's an amazing person and I'm grateful I was assigned to him upon my arrival at GateHouse. 5. During my stay at GateHouse, Couple's Therapy Group was formed, held once a week and facilitated by Geno. This group was crucial for my fiance and I and our road to healing. It was a safe space to connect with other couples who have gone through similar situations as us and gain new perspectives. Geno taught us new coping skills, constructive and healthy ways to communicate with one another, boundaries and how to ease ourselves back into our children's lives in the most caring and loving way. GateHouse's decision to incorporate this group into their program has benefited my fiance, myself and many more clients. 6. The BHT Staff are the absolute best that I've ever encountered. They too are working their own programs in recovery and have a personal understanding of what clients are experiencing. It's much easier for me, as an alcoholic, to listen to a fellow alcoholic rather than someone who doesn't have personal experience with substance abuse. Every staff member has their own amazing, unique qualities that make them an absolute asset to GateHouse. There's not one of them that isn't helpful, personable, and (most importantly to me) willing to hold you accountable in a loving, caring way so that you have the opportunity to better yourself. Personally, I believe they deserve a raise. They offer so much more to GateHouse other than their job duties. They have the ability to connect with clients based on their experiences inside and other side of work. Each one is a walking symbol of Hope and that the program does work, if you work it.
