What really sets this recovery center apart is the staff. They don’t make you feel like just another client. They make you feel like you’re one of their friends. Every conversation felt real, and it was obvious they truly cared about my well-being, both inside and outside of treatment.
The staff created an environment where I felt comfortable opening up without fear of being judged. They were always there to listen, offer encouragement, and celebrate every step of progress, no matter how small. Their compassion, patience, and sense of humor made some of the hardest days much easier to get through.
Recovery has never been easy, but having people who genuinely believe in you makes all the difference. The friendships and support I found here gave me hope when I needed it most. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated like a person—not just a patient I can’t recommend this recovery center enough. The staff go above and beyond every single day, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything they did for me. I will never take my time here for granted.

Been here twice if I'm honest. I can't recommend NFA enough. Sober since 6/10/25, the program works if you actually WANT to get better. The staff are nice, the food is good, the living situation does require patience but overall it is good. You will be accepted into a community and your case manager will help you out with resources. As long as you follow the rules (which isn't hard at all) you will get along fine here and even then you really have to go out of your way to get kicked out.

Place has amazing people here and is run very well. Still has room to improve for 1 on 1 counseling. Most counseling is done in a group so your personal endeavors and info is aired out most of the time. However this place will proved a place to heal and detox extremely comfortably if needed. Despite RCA’s shortcomings, they kickstarted my sobriety and were a great first step in my recovery. If you’re in good health and don’t need special accommodations, then this place is what you make of it. The admission process and acceptance to their facility was really quick, so my advice is to prepare as much as possible. Bring your own SEALED OTC medicine and SEALED hygiene and cosmetic products. You’ll meet with a doctor on the 2nd or 3rd day and can ask him to put these medicines in your patient med chart so that the nurses can disperse them to you. Try not to get hurt. You won’t get to go to a hospital unless you’re suicidal or OD’ing. My toe fracture can attest. But with that being said, I’m still grateful for the time I spent here and for the counselors that were once in our shoes and are now recovered, they are great. Medical team and their procedures and protocols could use a revamping.

Derry, NH | Providing adult residential treatment, the Granite House from Granite Recovery Centers is located in Derry, New Hampshire. You must be 18 years old or older to participate. Their programs focus on evidence based treatment methods. Medicaid is accepted. The Granite House’s Drug & Alcohol Rehab is located on Manor Parkway in Derry, New Hampshir | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I'm over 5 years sober now and I've been working in the Substance Use Disorder field for over 3 years now. I'm actually creating an updated resource sheet, which is why I ended up on here haha. But I figured while Im here, I should post a review about my own experience.
I went to Granite House back around 2020. My experience was great, I definitely had some ups and downs however the downs were 100% self induced. Although the staff and the group of people I was within were all incredible- I just wasn't ready yet at that time. I went to about half a dozen treatment programs throughout my addiction, but to this day I tell people "if you have medicaid and you're looking to go to rehab in NH - Granite House the best place to go." It is my first choice for referral out of all the treatment centers in the state!
Its obviously been a while since I was there, 7 years or so, but I have had clients tell me about their recent experiences and they all say the same thing " Its like a big family. " I couldn't agree more!
Thank you Granite House for your continued dedication to those who are in need of a safe, caring and trustworthy treatment center during their most vulnerable days. New Hampshire has lost a lot of good, helpful, and solid places over the past several years but to see you still standing and providing people with treatment is truly deeply appreciated!!!
* If you're reading this - and are trying to figure out if this is the right choice... as someone who statistically was not supposed to and never should have made it out... my advice is ;
Ask yourself what do you have to loose by trying? By showing up and giving yourself the chance? Compared to ... if you stay..? And don't even give it a try? We do recover - It takes time and its not easy - but nothing in life worth having, ever comes easy! You are more than worth it, so take the chance 🫶

I’m two and a half years clean thanks to this place. To keep it short, I left detox and went to another facility that was extremely strict about AA and pushed it in a way that didn’t work for me. When I expressed that, it became an issue, so I chose to leave.. leaving was difficulty the other facility made me walk miles and miles before allowing myself a cell phone and left my stranded in the middle of nowhere. I got the courage after leaving to find another facility and CHOOSE NOT TO GO BACK TO THE LIFESTYLE I ONCE HAD.
Finding Mayflower made all the difference. I appreciated that they allowed a more balanced, normal routine outside of meetings—you could relax, watch TV, do crafts, play basketball, and still focus on recovery. They also offered a different approach to sobriety that felt more supportive and personalized.
What really stood out was the medical staff—they were always there when I needed them and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. This was my first time getting sober, and I’ve stayed sober ever since because of this place.. great food as well. I’m so thankful for this place because without them I don’t know where I would be today. If one place isn’t a fit for you in recovery please find the next place and do not give up!

Woburn Wellness has played an instrumental role in my recovery journey, and I cannot speak highly enough about the care and support I received throughout my time there.
From my very first interaction, the entire team demonstrated genuine compassion and professionalism. Jeff and Juan in Admissions made what could have been an overwhelming process feel manageable, providing guidance and encouragement from the very beginning. Jasmine took the time to understand my individual circumstances and developed a treatment plan tailored specifically to my needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
During my time in the PHP program, I had the privilege of working with Lara, an exceptional clinician whose knowledge, compassion, and dedication had a profound impact on my recovery. The program itself is engaging, interactive, and thoughtfully designed. Rather than simply presenting information, the staff fosters meaningful discussions and provides practical tools and coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life.
I am also grateful for the outstanding support provided by the entire team, including Zhenya, Noah, Kayla, Macy, Julia, Cecilia, Tony, Thespina, and Annemarie. Every staff member contributed to creating a welcoming, supportive, and recovery-focused environment.
A special thank you to Caroline for organizing the outstanding Super Saturdays. These events quickly became one of the highlights of my week. The combination of Reiki sessions provided by Lighthouse Holistic Healing and peaceful nature walks and hikes offered an invaluable opportunity to recharge both mentally and physically while reinforcing the importance of self-care in recovery.
What truly distinguishes Woburn Wellness is its commitment to treating each individual as a unique person with unique needs. The personalized care, knowledgeable staff, and genuine investment in each client’s success create an environment where lasting recovery is possible.
I wholeheartedly recommend Woburn Wellness to anyone seeking treatment for substance use or mental health challenges. Thanks to the unwavering support, guidance, and dedication of the entire team, I am proud to say that I am sober today. I will always be grateful for the role Woburn Wellness has played in helping me build a healthier and more fulfilling future.

When I decided that 48 years was enough of living in a bottle and a spoon, I began to research what exactly I needed to do to get to a stage where I could put my life on hold, hire enough of the right people to handle my affairs while I was away. After accomplishing that, I boarded a plane to Boston 04-19-26 and arrived at Hillside detox and recovery program safely where I was treated like royalty. After 30 days, they convinced me to further my experience, knowledge, and skills for a successful life of soberiety by going to Woburn Wellness. Honestly, it is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
At Woburn, I attended the daily groups. At first I didn't understand how the groups could possibly help me go home to a wife that drinks, and remain sober. But the longer I not only attended, but actively participate in the program, the stronger I felt about my soberiety.
I was also blessed to stay at the Sober House in Stoneham. The accommodations at these 2 blessings were nothing like the 10 star treatment I got used to at Hillside. But they were perfect for this stage in my journey because they were realistic for life in the real world.
[ ] Jasmine was my go to for everything. She treated me like royalty. I'm not going to try and play favoritism with the staff at Woburn Wellness because they all are my favorites. I love and miss each of them. From Ray the Driver, for always getting me to put on my positive attitude, every morning, to Violet who made sure my meds were filled, to Jaun, my Rockstar, Sean, the Big dog who was also full of wisdom (and a little bit of bs.🤣). My Southern Belle, Laura, who is my Clinician, (she is vital to my soberiety by keeping me thinking, and giving me ideas, even now that I'm home). Caroline who always is high on happy pills, and we have a bonded agreement that we shook on, and It's something that I take very serious, and very rarely offer it, is special in her own ways. Noah is a beast, but a gentle giant that best not get anymore bad haircuts. Zhenya is the sweetest lady until you merge into a subject she doesn't approve of. But even her reprimands are done gently yet stern. I could go on praising the staff but I would be remiss if I don't talk about the group. Obviously I can't mention names or discussions we had. But I consider each one of them extremely lucky to be part of Woburn, especially myself. The staff and group members will always hold a very special place in my heart.
[ ] Should I relapse, it would be solely for the purpose of going back to Hillside, then Woburn and the sober house, to spend time with my extended family. God bless each member of staff, the group members, everyone at Hillside and everyone at Stoneham Sober house. If you're serious about getting Clean and sober, then I strongly recommend you start at Hillside and then go to Woburn. You will leave a completely new person. I know I did. May Christ Jesus support you in you Soberiety and bless you with this program

Great place to get sober. They had the best staff helping me to receive comprehensive care. I ended up staying with them 7months, I found it that helpful. Definitely not my first program, but they stand out from the rest. Perfect place for aftercare for people who have detoxed or done residential treatment. They work well with various sober living houses. They are also very flexible with the different levels of care that they offer.

Peabody, MA | Community Health Care offers outpatient treatment for individuals dealing with opiate addiction. Merrimack River Medical Services is located at Peabody, Massachusetts Community Health Care is dedicated to improving the quality of life of their clients by providing efficient and effective treatment. They offer an environment that promotes dignity and | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I absolutely love Andy and all of the wonderful ladies at the front desk they are all so kind and helpful to me as well as understanding; always willing to listen if there is ever a problem, they will do their best to help straighten it out. Never had an issue with them. This clinic is way faster and better ran than Chelsea- worlds better. There are usually all three windows open and they are pretty consistent and quick. I am terrible and honestly don’t even know the nurses at the windows names (I’m sorry) but the lady that’s usually at window 1 (shorter blonde hair, always has awesome nails) she is so kind! There is another window where the nurse also worked in Chelsea-she’s also terrific.
There are some things or people I don’t necessarily love but it’s okay.
I really appreciate the new director for taking the time out to meet me and talk with me in private one on one and speak of my concerns and come up with solutions. I feel seen and heard and I appreciate that. Thank you

Normally I have no issues at this place but this particular nurse seems to find fun or something bcuz treats me like I'm in a juvenile in a institution. But your not gonna play with me like that or in any fashion. So better things escalate. I just walk out. I'm afraid of my reaction plus the fact that it's a loose loose situation for either way it goes. This i understand. So I always play it smart. I promised myself I won't ever get arrested ever again. So I'm always a head of these little games these like play with us and our intelligence.
But overall, it really isn't that bed besides a few screwed up staff members.
Peace and Blessings...

A truly amazing place staffed with kind, caring, wonderful, professional, fun, generous, thoughtful, and highly-skilled staff (I could go on) who are experts in ED recovery. My therapist at Laurel Hill is by far the best therapist I have ever had — I learned so much from her and am still in awe of how she challenged me and ED narratives. The clinical director treats clients like family and invests her time and energy into each and every one of us — she spent her Christmas holiday with clients baking cookies, enjoying holiday kareoke, and other festivities that she planned for us… it was a special holiday, filled with so much love and support. The nursing staff are SO cool and kind. The RCs are absolutely the best.. I don’t know how they do such a specialized and demanding job and do it SO well, all while getting to become so close with the clients.
I would 100% recommend this place to anyone struggling with an eating disorder. I had lost hope when I entered treatment, and now I look forward to the day when I can say I am fully recovered, because thanks to the LH team, I know that day will come.

The nurses are Top Knots and unusually helpful and resourceful. The counselors that exist are all fair and kind, but constant short staffing and management issues cause a great place to only get a good rating. This is a for-profit clinic, so the higher up the management chain one goes, the further away an addict in recovery is from recovery. Unfortunately this company owns most of the clinics in the area, so one does not have a choice. This is also not unusual. There is no handicapped accessible entrance. You can go in the back way, around the back of the hospital, but you still have to walk a very good distance to the front door, and once inside it's very small so a person with mobility issues is going to struggle. I don't suggest anyone with mobility issues goes to this Clinic. He Corrections Officers in the back of the hospital, they have an entrance for the prisoners there. There is constant clashing with the handicapped clients and the Corrections Officers because there's no real protocol for handicapped patients. But overall this is a good place. Small, and they don't put up with any of the usual nonsense that goes on.( There are very few drug deals if at all that will go on here!). The security guard is top-notch as well and is very fair but firm. If you are not looking for Recovery, I suggest you go somewhere else because you won't last long here. I've had some personal issues with the take-home protocol as well as the short staffing resulting in treatment plans not being effectively instituted, but again this is management and has nothing to do with the day to day staff.

I can't say enough good things about elevate and the people who make it what it is. From the moment I started, I was treated with genuine kindness, respect, and compassion. The level of care here goes far beyond simply checking boxes—they truly invest in each person's growth, recovery, and well-being.
A special thank you to Steph Elena, Cindy, and Anthony. Each of them has made a meaningful difference in my journey in their own way. Their patience, encouragement, and ability to listen without judgment have helped me through some incredibly difficult moments. They create a safe, supportive environment where it's possible to be honest, learn new coping skills, and make real progress.
If you're looking for a mental health program where you'll be seen as a person rather than just another client, I wholeheartedly recommend this team. I'm truly grateful for everything they've done for me.
