I lived in this sober house I was.there for 2 years and was able to get a firm grip on my alcoholism. I was able to go to school and get a degree from Northern Essex community college. I highly recommend the Elms. I gave me the time to work on my recovery.Thank God for this program.
Over the years I have dealt with several injuries that have required multiple surgeries, physical therapy, and specialized medical equipment in order to heal. Last year both of my shattered hips were replaced, which went fine until a staph infection necessitated the removal of my right replacement hip. After my hospital stay I was admitted into Maplewood Rehab with a laundry list of specialized medical needs that needed to be tended to daily in order for me to recover. I was admitted unable to walk due to the missing hip. I had a wound vac attached to my right side that required specialized training and constant attention. I have a PICC line to receive IV antibiotics 3x/day. All of these needs were addressed with competence, kindness, and adherence to protocol. The staff here is professional, kind, and invested in my healing despite the extra workload that my care requires. Nurse Ladonna and nurse Jessica are angels for examples. PT Dawn and OT Jessica have helped me to get stronger, and relearn the life skills needed to go home to my family. CNA Rhonda and her colleagues take care of me like I'm family. The culinary staff takes pride in their work. The spicy chicken and the pizza are two of my favorites.
Angels, the whole lot of them.
If you or a loved one need skilled nursing rehab after a grievous injury, the staff at this facility will take excellent care of you. Additionally, the staff here have a very good rapport with my wife, as well as my team of doctors in Boston.
And this broken down old EMT is grateful.

UPDATE: Yesterday I was able to finally go home to my family. This has been a three month ordeal, but at least I am strong enough now to heal at home until my next surgery. I am home today because the staff at Maplewood Rehab made it their mission to help me get stronger.
As I said before, angels.

This place took great care of me. The help is wonderful here and I recommend it for rehab. Jessica is a fenominal nurse. All therapy staff are also fenominal.
The experience is based off the individuals character for sure. If youre prone to trouble, good luck. If youre easy, follow rules, aren’t disrespectful, its more than a vacation. Life long memories were made for sure. Even considering applying now that its been a decade.
