About Spokane Treatment Center

Spokane Treatment Center provides low cost and confidential medication assisted treatment for adults affected by opioid use disorder in Spokane, Washington. They help the underserved members of the community by making quality and accessible treatment available. They coordinate care with other local medical and clinical providers to ensure holistic healing.

This facility is part of the Oregon Recovery & Treatment Center. Spokane is a major urban city in Washington. This facility is located right at the center of this city. You can look out for Audubon Park when visiting. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the facility if you’re into outdoor recreation. The historic Riverfront Park is 5 miles away.

Medication assisted treatment uses meds approved by the FDA alongside counseling to facilitate “whole person” healing. They may prescribe Methadone, Suboxone or Subutex depending on your unique needs. The meds help curb physiological cravings, normalize your brain chemistry and reduce withdrawal symptoms. This is backed up with counseling to help you address the emotional issues fueling your opioid use. Emphasis is on building strong coping skills and preventing relapse.

One unique thing about this facility is that they offers polysubstance abuse counseling. Polysubstance use involves using at least three addictive substances over 12 months. You might use multiple substances in a short time to boost the effects of one drug and get a stronger high. The effect of this can be more disruptive than when you use single substances.

While they treat you specifically for opioid use, you’ll receive polysubstance counseling if you abuse multiple substances. This counseling helps you understand how different substances interact, manage combined withdrawal and avoid triggers for using again. They also offer specialized relapse prevention programs to encourage you to stay in treatment and build coping skills.

Assessment is a core component of the recovery program here. Their assessment services encompass physical exams, lab work and drug testing. A physical exam helps the team check your overall health and spot any issues linked to “using.” This allows them to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Lab work and drug testing are ongoing processes. The lab work includes routine tests for syphilis, TB, pregnancy and ECG. They can refer you to local community health centers to receive medical treatment for any medical condition. Drug testing is randomly conducted to monitor treatment progress. It usually involves checking urine or using a breathalyzer for substances.

The facility also offers prescriptions and education for Naloxone. Naloxone is a med used to prevent an opioid overdose.

This place absolutely does not care about their patients and is 100% in this to make profit and benefit off of some of our society's most vulnerable population. I have been assisting someone in their road to recovery who has been going to this clinic faithfully for well over a year now. This person has been over a few bumps, but has been working everyday to grow and do better than the last. My friend has been very excited and proud of themselves and their progression in anticipation of being cut down to coming in 1 less day per week. This was going to be HUGE for him as he does not currently have a vehicle and is relying on medical transport to take him to his appointment over an hour away (one way) and has on multiple occasions had to wait for his return ride for over an hour in the cold while Spokane Treatment Center tells him that he can't wait inside and has to stand outside in the elements while shady individuals constantly make their way by attempting to conversate and inquire about illicit things, which, then they also have reprimanded my friend for being in the line of fire of. This has made it extremely difficult with employment as well, as he is not guaranteed to be able to be at work by a certain time on the days he has to go in and wait. Due to my friend also recovering, and currently being in remission from years of grand mal seizures, he also suffers from memory issues and happen to misplace his medication at home this past week. He called STC worrying that he might have left his medication there at the clinic and although he found his medication after a thorough search at home, they are now punishing him by not only taking away his opportunity to come in one less day a week, but they are now going to make him come in every single day in order to be dosed and maintain his sobriety. This is going to be absolutely devastating to my friend's ability for upcoming work this spring and is also extremely hard for a recovering person to be subjected to countless people coming up to them and trying to conversate about illicit things, which he is now going to be in the line of every single day instead of a couple days a week. How is this possibly beneficial for someone who's trying to stay away from that lifestyle and people and recover from years of substance abuse?

Accepted Insurance

Spokane Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab enables clients who are exiting detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse to focus on their recovery in a highly structured and supportive environment. Inpatient rehabs provide intensive clinical supervision and high-level treatment. Clients remain at the facility through the length of their program and typically receive multiple addiction counseling and education sessions per day. Holistic therapies, such as yoga, message, and meditation, may be used to relieve stress and ease discomfort.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Accreditations

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Established in 1992 by congress, SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on American's communities.

At the beginning all was perfect but most of the staff has changed, and there is no real help. If you are seriously interested in a clinic designed to get sobriety, then you are looking in the wrong place. Here the change would be impossible.

I made the very big mistake of writing a review that was not at all fair, I will not go into why but the very day I wrote it I was asked to go back for a chat and everything I was upset about was addressed and handled with grace and kindness, the staff really is amazing and they do care for their clients and really will go out of their way to work with people if we just tell them what issues we might have. I am grateful to all of you at Spokane Treatment Center, thank you for everything you do.

I started at STC a little over a year ago, I had been going to a different place here locally and I was super frustrated, from when I walked in the first day,I saw a counselor, had my medical stuff done, seen the Dr. and dosed, they were thorough and professional as well as kind. The longest I have ever waited to dose is 20 minutes. I love the staff, they keep it very clean and you don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to see your counselor, the Dr.or anything!!!You just ask the front desk and ìf there available you can see them, you don't need to make appointments for everything. I love STC and if you're looking to get that monkey off your bacķ,I strongly suggest that you give the Professional, kind, and knowledgeable staff at STC.

The staff treat you like you’re a human being and not an attic. They help you anyway they can and the dosing nurse are so sweet and they truly care about your recovery. I pay cash for my treatment and it is easy to afford it. It doesn’t coast an arm and a leg. So if you’re looking for an awesome place to start your treatment this is the one place.

I absolutely respect my counselors opinions. I must say that first because my counsellor is one of the most tentative counsellors to me she knows me well and she is such a good listener . Some times I may be having a bad day and then I find out I have to see her . And I'm like Holly crap she's going to know something wrong with me . And as soon as I see her it's not more than 5 min into conversations and I'm crying letting my tears out. She's very understanding and professional. Thanks to those who care you've helped me care agin.

They absolutely do NOT have their patients best in mind. I have been clean for 4 years. They tried to punish me for a false positive ua for alcohol that happened 2 months prior and wanted to take away my weekly carries I worked so hard for. I left there fast then you can blink. They didn't care. They knew they messed up but didn't care. My counselor Erica that cared "sooo much" about me said she'd call to check on me and it's been 3 weeks without a single word. They're only in it for the money that they can make off of people while they're at rock bottom. I would HIGHLY recommend ANYWHERE else but spokane treatment center. Oh and they have an older woman working the front windows. It is NOT emily... the older woman with an accent is extremely rude and nasty. When I tried to bring it to anyone attention they brushed it off and said she wasn't trying to be that way. She is a nasty nasty rude person and STC would rather keep a clearly toxic employee then do right by their patients. The way this place is run is not in line with the morals and goals they "claim" to have. I highly recommend the other two methadone facilities in spokane and NOT stc. They do NOT truly care about patients there.
