About Mt Rogers ASAP

You’ll find Mt Rogers ASAP in Marion, Virginia. Since 1972, they’ve grown from a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration pilot program to a premier impaired driver program. Adults and adolescents can access proven interventions to get to the root of impaired driving and make permanent changes.

You can complete their programs to meet mandated DMV requirements to reinstate your license. Whether this is your first offense or you have several, you can access courses to meet your unique needs. They provide offender evaluations, suspended driving intervention interviews and intensive education.

A Second Chance for Youth

What stands out most to me is their Young Offender Program. This specialized track offers interventions for youth who’ve committed alcohol offenses unrelated to driving, such as underage alcohol possession. Young people can participate in this program to potentially dismiss or reduce their charges. I think this is great because it gives adolescents the chance to reflect on their behaviors and make changes to avoid further legal consequences.

Addiction Education

Another great feature I noticed was their treatment education. This four week program helps you recognize and explore your behaviors. Deciding to seek addiction treatment can be challenging. I think this program is a great tool to discover whether your substance use has become a problem and find the necessary care to start recovery. They also strive to help you reduce future alcohol or drug-related offenses.

DUI Ignition Interlocks

I also think it’s beneficial that they provide ignition interlocks. People convicted of driving under the influence may have a mandated requirement for this device. With an ignition interlock, you’ll have to blow into a breathalyzer to start your car. I like that they are one of the only programs integrating this device with intervention services.

PAM WILLIAMS is a very rude individual....I originally reached out in September of 2024 and spoke to Pam over the phone. She was very demeaning and treated me as if I was less of a human being. She mentioned I needed to fill out paperwork and email it to her.Fast forward to February of 2025- I was finally able to send back the paperwork. Pam sent me the document I needed, but I needed a cover letter from her stating she was the one who actually sent it. I had to follow up with her three times about the cover letter. My final attempt I asked if I needed to call her supervisor since she was ignoring me. She sent back a nasty email with capital words- basically yelling at me. Attached is the conversation for everyone's reference.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who are in early recovery, leaving detox, or experiencing a crisis often require the intensive treatment of an inpatient rehab facility. Clients in inpatient care receive robust clinical supervision, housing, and meals, allowing them to focus exclusively on their recovery while they stabilize. The primary treatment modalities used in most inpatient centers include extensive addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many drug rehabs also offer holistic therapies, such as music, art, fitness, and experiential therapies.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients participating in a rehab aftercare program receive comprehensive and customized support as they leave high-intensity treatment, reintegrate into their community, and focus on maintaining their sobriety. These programs offer a wide variety of services to align with the client's unique and evolving needs, often including medical, mental health, and social service program referrals. Clients typically develop their drug rehab aftercare plan in conjunction with their case manager and care team.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enroll in drug rehab in Virginia, a treatment plan is designed by professional staff in order to help you overcome drug addiction and modify addictive behaviors. This may include evidence-based treatments, group and individual therapy, and relapse prevention.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I has a great experience with them. This is a small facility and pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you have to understand that it may be tough to get through on the phone. Once I was able to talk to someone it was a great transaction. They answered all of my questions and was extremely friendly about everything. I appreciate their help since I was not from that area. Thank you.

where is the class in galax so pose to be they don't give an address

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
The classes in Galax are listed on class letters with a full address when they are sent to the referrals that are enrolled. This is for the safety and confidentiality of referrals.

The Director is not very understanding of out of state clients

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
The state of Virginia gives the ASAP the guidelines that are strictly adhered to. This makes it fair for all referrals that are in the program. There can not be a separate set of rules for each individual.

They never answered the phone it's always busy I've tried for days. I've called over a hundred times and not a single person's ever answered. $400 for a DUI class outrageous. Tennessee $125 California $90. Out of state resident $300 transfer fee outrageous you should be ashamed. Two lines? I've called 452 over the course of 3 months with zero results. Never rings. Busy. 452 times

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Mt Rogers ASAP does not set the cost of the VASAP Program fee. That is in the Code of Virginia. We have (2) lines and yes they stay busy. We do have clients email us to call them and that is completed immediately.

This place is a joke! They could careless about the people they deal with. They give me multiple dates and confused everyone including their self. And then talk you down like it’s your fault. Extremely Poor customer service! They won’t answer the phone at the time and date they give you, I started calling at 9am and called multiple times and they finally answered at 9:33am and said I was to late but had no comment on why the phones wasn’t answered. Warning if you can use any other office I would. This place is pitiful!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Since we do not have this person enrolled in our system which is a court referral service I can not answer to his post.
