Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Yes I was a patient, they don't count weekends or holidays to collect more insurance money. Small food portions and dirty looks if you asked for more. Had a social worker who didn't help with my job or even try to give a return to work notice. This is a for profit company and money seemed to be the bigger picture then mental health. Techs and nurses were nice though!

It is Scarey and uncomfortable at first but give it a chance. Uncomfortable doesn't always mean bad. I learned alot about myself. They push you to be a better version of you. They teach you coping skills that you will take with you for the rest of your life.

Admitted here for behavioral health care for a little over a week. Some staff did a great job and were legitimately caring, others not so much. Specifically the "weekend doctor" , Dr. Singh. He saw me for all of 45 seconds and then quickly rushed away. Did not care at all what we all had to say. It appears he did this to most of the patients on the same unit as me. This was disappointing.

This place is a hell hole!! Soaking peoples insurance!! Social workers don’t see people within a short time frame, some wait longer than 72 hours to see anyone, when you could be able to sign yourself out by then if you are not there by court order!!! Not sure about the doctors they say one thing and don’t follow through. This place should be investigated!! But I do want to add that Donna at the front desk is an angel, makes you feel very at ease and really makes you feel good! Thank you Donna!!!

Rasheema- Clinic Director, and staff helped me get through the toughest time. My 17 year old was experiencing some stress from life and had to be admitted in. Throughout his stay I was kept informed about his health conditions and the progress he was making. From the intake until now I have been able to get through this tough times with a people who care. Thanks everyone!

This place is hell on earth. Don't ever come here! I came here by accident and didn't want to be there. Before signing all the paperwork the staff told me I had no options to leave and I would be there for at least a week to which I replied that I didn't have the money to pay for it and my cheap insurance would hardly cover all the expenses. They've lied to me that my insurance would pay for everything and I believed them! After a week in this prison with garbage food and no care for the patients I RECEIVED A BILL FOR $1100+. What is wrong with you? People come to you in a very bad life situation and then you deliberately try to make their life even worse??? I still don't have the money to pay for these fraudulent services. And I will go to court with this case because your staff assured me that I don't have to pay. Your billing numbers have not answered for weeks and I do not call back. This is a depraved and scam place that kills people for personal gain!

Literally a horrible traumatic experience. No one should have to go to this place. I went in for self harm related problems and was put on 4-A which if you didn’t know us a detox unit for people getting clean from drugs. I didn’t belong on that floor at all. The things I saw there and experienced were horrible. I want to keep it short but a few examples might be, When a girl broke her ankle and was not given any treatment for my entire weeks stay there When a tech decided to hound me for being wrong about a schedule thing while I was actively having a panic attack and sobbing When a NURSE gave me my weekly shot (prescribed weekly injections) completely wrong, using the wrong needle and quote “not understanding why I was so anxious” when I literally have diagnosed anxiety and she was about to stick me with the thickest needle ever and wouldn’t listen when I told her that it was wrong. I hope this place goes out of business and please if you actually care about someone, don’t send them here. It’s hell.

This place is a complete joke. My brother is a patient here, and the way they treat both him and his family is disgusting. Communication is non-existent. He had THREE allergic reactions to a medication, his throat was closing, and he was on the floor gasping for air. The staff barely reacted and told him to just get up. That’s not just careless—it’s dangerous. The social worker, Brianna, is especially terrible. She told us yesterday that she would get back to us about a possible release date—and then avoided my brother all day. She talked to everyone expect him. His wife called and texted multiple times trying to get an update, and Brianna just ignored everything. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. This facility clearly doesn’t care about their patients or their families. It’s scary to think people are left in their care. Do better.

I had to get readmitted at a different hospital to fix the mistakes Lake Behavioral did to my medications just days after being discharged from Lake Behavioral. This place needs to be shut down.
