About Zinnia Health Lake Okeechobee

Their facilities include a gym and several relaxing outdoor spaces. The bedrooms are comfortable and come with a smart TV and PlayStation 4 for residents to unwind with after a long day of treatment. Nature walks and outdoor activities add some healthy relaxation.

Their treatment programs consist of three main pillars of care: detox, rehabilitation, and aftercare.

The detox stage typically lasts for 10-14 days for drug use and 5-7 days for alcohol use, but this can vary from person to person. This process focuses on removing substances from the body and teaching your body how to function without substances. Medications like methadone and naltrexone may be used to manage withdrawal symptoms and keep your body stable as it adjusts to a lack of substances.

During rehabilitation, treatment focuses on developing new life skills to stay sober. Whether in an outpatient or inpatient program, you’ll attend individual and group therapy sessions to develop these skills and get to the root of mental health concerns that contribute to substance use. They also offer experiential therapy modalities, like yoga, art therapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy.

During aftercare planning, the team will work with you to outline actionable steps that help you stay sober. They’ll help connect you to alumni support groups and sober housing if needed.

Something I liked about Zinnia Health is that they help people seek out treatment for their loved ones. They provide tailored support for anyone affected by a loved one’s substance use, including intervention services and support through the admission process.

Don’t trust Barbara if she’s still there. Not a good psychiatrist and can’t treat mental health issues. Bipolar 1 or 2 is unfortunately not a mental health disorder you can diagnose and medicate within 2 hours of meeting a person. Highly unprofessional and very traumatizing on top of what had already brought me there in the first place. Seems like the place had high enough turnover that if somebody like ME was a problem person she’s probably been chewed up and spit out by this point. Disappointing. Liked the therapist though even though she was a psychiatrist defender and was just trying to save the company’s heiny. I ultimately received nothing from the mental health professionals here; the peers also in recovery around you are what encourage you to do your healing. For the $80,000 they charge your insurance to come here, they just play you meditation youtube videos and make you do kindergarten activities all day. Don’t go if you’re not recovering from addiction - carelessly placed there for mental health issues knowing I was not in recovery for addiction and too vulnerable to know I could say no. They also make it extremely difficult to say no, so they’re honestly a little gaslighty. Red flag. I’d say don’t go if there are any individualized problems you have that could put you in danger, they will not consider those issues.

Accepted Insurance

Zinnia Health Lake Okeechobee works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities. This program provides half-day treatment (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15 am to 12:30 pm).

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

1/25/25 **I would love to talk to someone from the facility, please have someone call me, I can’t get anyone on the phone* I have mixed feelings about my stay here. I had some great moments of healing that felt tarnished by moments of bad experiences that could have been prevented. The facility is not as it appeared online. There’s a reason this is such a big deal, when someone packs up and leaves their whole life behind to do something as vulnerable as this and they walk in to a situation that is not what was promised/advertised, it’s terrifying. Arriving somewhere that’s not as advertised can make one think, is it just these things that were embellished or is everything not what was promised. An honest representation goes a long way. The zinnia health representatives on the phone are brokers, they make a commission for each person they place there. They are willing to move mountains to get someone there and in turn, say things that simply aren’t true. The majority have never been to these places and have no idea what goes on there or what is actually offered. If they said what this facility is really like, it would include: this is an older facility, it’s not as bright and shiny as the website portrays, there’s no yoga unless you decide to do on your own, most of the meditation is a YouTube breathing video, there are no wildlife trail walks taken, it’s in the middle of sugarcane fields that often rain ash, there are flying cockroaches everywhere (they’re native to the area, they spray for them but you can’t get rid of all of them in that climate) depending on the room one may fall victim to bad plumbing resulting in the room smelling like hot garbage. The pictures are not an actual representation of the grounds and are photoshopped. I didn’t come for a luxury retreat, I came to get my head right. It would be beneficial to advertise appropriately. Having said all that, they have some of the most amazing trauma therapy and by keeping the facility small with less admissions it makes personal treatment and attention a priority. There is an onsite doctor that is really good at what she does and clearly cares about the patients. Some of the staff is amazing and really care about their patients and others have what feels like zero empathy and are there to collect a check. I tried to contact zinnia to discuss some personal matters regarding my stay and I was hung up on more than once because I mentioned writing an honest review, once I said that, no one would talk to me. I was hung up on by more than one person and they refused to give names so I couldn’t report the hang ups. After calling back a final time the line rang for a very long time before someone picked up and told me that no one would be able to talk to me.

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your candid and detailed feedback. We deeply appreciate you taking the time to express both the positives and challenges of your experience, as this helps us improve our services and ensure future guests have the best possible experience.

We are so glad to hear that you found moments of healing during your stay and benefited from the trauma therapy and personalized attention. It’s heartening to know that the onsite doctor and certain members of our team made a positive impact during your journey.

However, we sincerely apologize for the aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations, particularly those related to the facility’s representation, communication, and the concerns you raised about follow-up interactions. We understand how vital it is to trust the environment and feel supported, especially when making such a significant and vulnerable decision to seek care. Your concerns about transparency in advertising, facility conditions, and the empathy of some staff members are being taken very seriously.

We are also very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced when trying to reach out to us after your stay. This is not the level of professionalism or responsiveness we strive for, and we will be reviewing these incidents internally to ensure this does not happen again.

Your feedback about maintaining honest representations and improving both facility conditions and communication will be shared with our leadership team. If you’re open to discussing your experience further, please contact us directly. We value your perspective and would like the opportunity to address your concerns more thoroughly.

Thank you again for your honesty, and we wish you continued success on your healing journey.
