About 10 Acre Ranch

10 Acre Ranch is a private substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment facility for adults located in Riverside, California. This is a pet friendly facility, as they realize that your pet can bring you comfort during your recovery process.

10 Acre Ranch is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the California State Department of Healthcare Services.

This facility offers the full continuum of treatment starting with detox, if needed. When you call to get started, an intake specialist will evaluate you to see if detox is needed before your treatment therapy begins. If so, you’ll be monitored by a medical doctor, nurse, and support staff. The length of time that you spend in the detox stage depends on the substance that you are detoxing from and the needs that you have.

After detox, you will begin recovery. During this stage, no medication is administered, as the center wants you to become more physically active and change your lifestyle to be conducive to that of a substance free life. Inpatient rehab can last between 30 days up to 90 or more days, depending on your needs and insurance.

They offer different styles of treatment and therapy, but they incorporate the 12 Steps model and a social model, believing that you and your peers can help each other through the recovery process. They believe that the spirituality of the 12 Step program helps you to open your heart and your mind to healing and better living.

This center claims to have enjoyed 96% success rate of clients who get sober and continue living a sober life for years to come.

The 10 Acres Ranch staff made it a extremely easy process to get admitted really quickly. The staff were very knowledgeable and had excellent past experience. The food was great with Chef Mike on grounds. Dienna and Alejandra always went out of their way and stepped up anytime I needed help with Court and Work. It was also very nice to have two outings per week and LA Fitness gym daily. Sobriety has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I would give 10 acre ranch five stars, and I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking to change their life.

Accepted Insurance

10 Acre Ranch works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I had a wonderful, eye-opening experience here. The facility is beautiful and very comfortable. All meals are delicious and there is a variety of snacks and drinks. I went on a variety of outings such as hiking, manicure and pedicure, bowling, and going to the beach. The staff is amazing and a total delight to be around. They all have uplifting messages and my path was tailored to my personal my recovery. I’ve also made lifelong friendships. Upon leaving, I have the most confidence I’ve ever had in my recovery! I look forward to living my life in sobriety and I accredit this facility for giving me the tools, confidence and motivation to do so! I definitely recommend coming here for anyone who is serious about recovery!

My drug career was 26 years long and with the help of 10 acre and staff and my recovery brothers and sisters, I am now free from my addictions. Staff was amazing, they offered support and mentally + emotionally. They helped me step outside of my comfort zone and slowly I started to discover who I am. By the grace of God, I found 10 Acres. I would recommend the program for those who struggle with their addiction (just like I did). Thank you to all staff for supporting and pushing me to be my best self even when the storm seemed it will never pass. Thank you and God bless.

If you’re looking for a rehab facility that will really mess with your life, 10 Acre Ranchy is the place for you! Let me walk you through my experience: First, they decided to play a game of “Let’s Falsify Your Medical Records!” I was diagnosed with an addiction to nearly every drug under the sun. I’ve heard of all of them, sure but I didn’t use all of them. According to their paperwork, I was basically a walking pharmacy. Guess they thought that would make things more interesting for my insurance company. Next, they told me I couldn’t make phone calls during detox. Later, I found out I was actually allowed one call, according to a document I had signed while severely impaired but no one ever informed me. To make matters worse, they extended my detox by two extra days for no clear reason and didn’t notify my girlfriend, who had already planned a visit. No one told her it was canceled. When she tried calling, she got someone who said he worked remotely, had never even been to the facility, and only handled admissions — he had no clue what was happening at the rehab itself. Apparently, there was no real customer support system in place, which I’m not even sure is legal. At the very least, they could’ve let me make the one allowed call to inform her that visitation was canceled due to the extended detox. Then came the gonorrhea plot twist — not once, but twice. Mind you, my long-term girlfriend tested negative both times. I’ve never cheated, never tested positive for anything — hell, I’ve been more monogamous than a Disney princess with abandonment issues. But according to the rehab’s ringleader, Dienna — I magically manifested gonorrhea in a place where I had zero sexual contact. What is this, immaculate infection? They sent me to the ER for gonorrhea treatment. The second time around, I asked the staff to show me the test results three times. Shockingly, no one could find them. But hey, who needs proof when you can just ship someone off to the ER for fun, right? I was mentally impaired enough at the time to go along with it, but later I refused the antibiotics Dienna (the director) tried to force on me. Even sketchier — the second diagnosis and corresponding ER visit didn’t appear in my medical records until I called the lab directly and told them I suspected something fishy. Then the next day, they magically “found” it. Weird, right? I went to another ER the day after I was discharged to get retested for STDs — and surprise, I never had gonorrhea. This fake diagnosis almost cost me everything. My girlfriend was looking at me like I’d just raw-dogged a demon, and I’m sitting there trying to explain that it wasn’t infidelity — it was institutional gaslighting with a side of clap cosplay. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if I “caught” gonorrhea just by being around Dienna — the same director who seemed more interested in screwing with the patients than running a professional facility. Maybe I didn’t need antibiotics… just a restraining order from the management. So what was Dienna’s endgame? Break up my relationship? Gaslight me into submission? It felt less like recovery and more like I accidentally wandered into a One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest reboot where Nurse Ratched moonlights as an STD fairy with a god complex. And the cherry on top? I was promised I wouldn’t have to pay a copay, which was the main reason why I chose to go to this rehab, only to get a surprise bill for nearly $1000. They must’ve used the same honesty policy as their medical records. Then there was Gary, the therapist, who seemed more interested in hearing himself talk than actually listening to anyone else. During the sessions, he constantly talked over me and dismissed my input. It felt less like therapy and more like a monologue. To sum it up: bad therapy, false diagnoses, poor communication, surprise billing, and the program director who seems more interested in drama than recovery. Avoid this place unless you’re into emotional chaos and fictional STDs.
