So disappointed in you as a health care facility not doing breast check exams anymore! Was so shocked when I had my mammogram that a breast exam was discontinued. Prevention is so key to women's health. So disappointed in you bvhs.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Absolutely worst hospital and patient care I’ve ever experienced. I took my boyfriend here at about 7pm because he was extremely pale, had a high fever and most concerning had bumps in his left arm and it was so painful and stiff he could not move it. Upon arrival it took almost two hours for him to get a bed. He was literally laying on their benches progressively getting worse, with his arm now swelling up and developing a rash. The only reason they even took us back is because I told them he’s getting worse and needs to be seen now. When we finally got back there, they put him on a bed in the hallway. He was literally being treated in the hallway. Surrounded by other nurses and patients with absolutely zero privacy. We saw the nurse one time who informed us she would do what she can to help, she never came back, and we saw absolutely nobody else for 3 more hours. During this time he began convulsing and throwing up. I talked to the nurses 3 different times and his mother had to call the hospital in order for a doctor to actually come see him. When she did, she tried to chalk up his symptoms to a common flu or covid and had no interest in performing any lab tests. I went back and told them they needed to do something so we could figure out what he had. Finally, after another hour, a nurse came and performed lab tests and FINALLY hooked him up to an IV. When the results came back the ONLY information they had was that he had some kind of infection!!! THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT KIND!! They just prescribed him some generic antibiotic intended to combat general infections and sent us home 6 hours later at 1:30am. And all this happened in the hallway. He never got a room although we saw two rooms clearly empty. The service is ridiculous and we are never coming back here. And I warn all of you to never go there either.

I came in through the ED department sometime end of January this year sick with what I assumed to be a URI. I was completely wrong and found out it was Flu A and pneumonia. Later, we found out I had pneumonia MRSA. I'm an LPN and had been picking up numerous shifts thorough agency in different areas. I was about to be discharged home by the NP, but a wonderful nurse that was working with me advocated for me. Thankful for her because I could not maintain my o2 levels and going home would not have been a wise decision. I was extremely sick that day and I am thankful for the care I received.

A couple of weeks ago, I experienced an anaphylactic allergic reaction to peanuts. I have a known allergy (anaphylaxis) and had a cross-contamination event which caused very immediate throat, nasal, and periorbital face swelling. I was able to take Benadryl quickly which seemed to slow the reaction, but over the following 30 minutes my reaction was progressively worsening, necessitating a trip to this ER for epinephrine / monitoring. I arrived around 1am with an obvious active anaphylactic reaction (evident facial swelling and audible wheezing/coughing). I also told them upon my presentation that I was having an anaphylactic reaction to a known allergen with the exact timeline and specific request for epinephrine. I work in healthcare and am very familiar with guidelines around anaphylaxis. Though there is no “clear-cut” timeframe for administering epi, as soon as anaphylaxis is identified, epinephrine should be administered. Again, I presented at 1am and did not receive epi / any other treatment for ONE HOUR. They did take me back to a room rather quickly and put me on a monitor, but I was left sitting in the room with my reaction progressively worsening for 60 minutes until any treatment was administered. That is INSANE. Thankfully, my reaction was progressing slowly, likely due to it being cross-contamination rather than ingesting a peanut, as well as my taking Benadryl prior to arrival to the ER. Otherwise, I absolutely could have died under their care. Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening condition that is known to progress suddenly whether that is 1 minute, 1 hour, or 3 hours after the allergy onset. That is why epi administration is recommended immediately upon recognition of anaphylaxis. To wait an hour is incredibly delayed and inadequate care. Though I cannot change my care, I did make it out alive. I have discussed this with patient advocacy and hope my situation is relayed to the ER staff so that they can improve their education and care for future patients.

My father had surgery there last week. I came in from out of state and was extremely impressed with the experience. From the surgeon moving things up to get his surgery done ASAP to the care he received after surgery. I want to thank Amie, RN on the 6th floor for staying over after her shift to allow my father to have a familiar face as he had some issues after surgery and had to have more tests and be moved to the ICU. Also, Brandy and Bri, RNs in the ICU for listening and taking his situation serious and advocating along with me when he needed an additionalprocedure. He even had a nurse Julie from the 5th floor the week before who stopped in to see him in ICU. We were not expecting any setbacks but you never know what to expect with surgeries. I am very thankful for all the wonderful workers who provided excellent care to my father. Bless you all. I will not forget you.

I wanted to thank all the Dr's, nurses, and techs from the 5th floor. The Dr's from the ER ( with the exception of 1 dr from there that refused to listen to me. ) Everyone was just so understanding, helped me get myself better, ( as long as I stay away from spicy foods aka Taco Pizza! ) those that helped me get admitted Thursday will know what i mean. They all were the kindest, best bedside manner and helpful that I could ever ask for. If I could remember all of your names I most definitely would put your names down. Thank you again for helping me and understanding.

I suggest avoiding this hosipital and it's sister, Bluffton Hospital if you can. We've been to both when in need and we are usually treated like a joke.
