I realize that each of us have our own unique experience. But I will say for the VA that if you go to the trouble of filing a complaint in Dayton about any questionable or just bad treatment, that they take your complaint very seriously. They also hold the department or agency at the center of the complaint responsible. In regards to my complaint not only did the VA call me directly but a representative of the department concerning the complaint asked me to come into meet with them so they could hear directly what changes I was wanting or needing. Sometimes we lose people, and when that happens these words dont mean much. Its the worse experience of our life. None of us ever want it and we all dread it. In those cases there isnt any words that help. But for current situations outside of those circumstances like mine, my experience has been positive. Ive found 1 or 2 Drs that need to go back to bed-side manner school. One of them the class about fraternization and compassion and another about the privacy rights of secretly recording visits without the patients knowledge or consent. My VA office is in Lima Ohio. The facility is spotless and my appointments are always prompt and on time. Never have I waited uncomfortable periods of time and most times Ive barely set down before their calling my name after checking in. I will say hgowever it was a mistake to remove the kiosks. I realize that older veterans may have troube with technology but those kiosks can be designed with ease of use in mind for EVERYONE. 4 STARS for LIMA VA

Been a client here for years. The providers and staff have always treated me with respect and worked patiently and pleasantly to iron out any problems. Dr. Soder and Dr. Brickner especially have been great to work with, affable and kind with appropriate focus on and genuine concern for a clients mental health and well-being. I'm sorry for all the people who've had such poor experiences as I have found this to be one of the best facilities of it's kind with wonderful people.

I struggle with severe OCD and intrusive thoughts. My very caring psychiatrist, Angela Soder, is right by my side and helps me fight my battle with OCD day in and day out. I'd be so lost without her. Without her, I sometimes wonder if I would of given up and lost my battle some time ago. I like how she NEVER suggests the ER for my unless of course, I was serious with a plan and/or intent to hurt myself or others, which so far hasn't happened yet. Instead, she schedules me in for an appointment so we can talk about it. Any other psych provider I talk to doesn't even attempt to help me. They just say something along the lines of "You need to go to the ER and probably be admitted" how is locking me up with my thoughts supposed to help? She understands my thoughts are just thoughts and I just need someone to talk to when I feel a certain way. She understands that admitting me into the hospital isn't the answer, and will only make me feel worse. Anyway, I give Angela Soder 5 stars! She is awesome! Again, I'd be so lost without her! Brittany and Brandy at this office are also amazing! They're supportive and also don't suggest the ER when I call and talk to them.

The Ohio Recovery Center is truly a remarkable and welcoming place. I travel to various recovery centers giving presentations, and this one stood out for its warmth and kindness. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home, which I deeply appreciated. A special shoutout to Ashley Staley, the treatment advocate and alumni liaison, who greeted me with open arms and introduced me to the incredible team there. Her hospitality and genuine passion for helping others were inspiring. Kudos to the entire staff at the Ohio Recovery Center for creating such a positive and supportive environment. It's clear they truly care about the people they serve, and I was honored to experience it firsthand. Highly recommend!

Mercy Health is a small hospital and for years never heard much positive. Well I have had 2 weeks of amazing care for my mom who has been there. She is doing rehab in the swing bed unit. Each and every person that has taken care of her, has went out of their way to make moms stay there better. Even when she was a bit difficult to work with. Stubborn you may say. This hospital has not been given the credit they deserve. I just wanted to share my experience and to say thank you to each and every staff member who has helped mom! I need to also add how clean this place is!!!!

I went here for a year at a young age of 12. The Marsh Foundation help me in so so many areas in my life. I was 7-8 grade, and I chose to repeat the 8th grade here and get caught up in school. I was at least 3 years behind in almost every subject. My school back home just kept passing me. Best thing I could have done for myself. I learned table educate, better in school, worked in the fields potatoes, tomatoes, worked in the Cannery too. Miss Lupe, and Miss Helene I remember. Great, Godly women. Getting our allowance and walk up town with our money we earned. Stop & Shop I always went there. Now seeing it through adult eyes, I appreciate it a lot more. Thank you, Theresa Taschler

ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital - Coping Center is an inpatient psychiatric treatment center in Defiance, Ohio. After going through one of the scariest experiences of my entire life, and waiting in what felt like a limbo-esque ER, I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for Coping Center. The staff immediately were warm and welcoming, ready to help me work through what I was struggling with, even at my arrival time of 10:30pm. As someone who was nervous looking at other reviews and the lack of information about the schedule on the website, hopefully I can clear up some concerns. 1. There is a daily schedule, lasting from roughly 7/9am to 8pm. It is often subject to change, and you are encouraged to attend group sessions, but not required. (The first day I slept mostly, but I'm glad I started to attend them on my 2nd day because it helped more than I thought it would) 2. You can call anyone from 6am to 10pm, and can even set it up so that certain people can call YOU. There is also visitation from 4 to 5 EVERY DAY, but it can only be one person who is 18 or older. 3. Yes, your phone will be taken away. They will let you write down numbers before they do. Honestly, aside from the logistical concerns of patients having phones, it was kind of nice to totally detach from the stressors of the online world and social media for a few days. 4. The accommodations are great, especially for a hospital, but be prepared to sleep a bit uncomfortable. Bring some clothes going in, or try and get people to drop them off shortly after arrival. You'll have to wear scrubs at first, but 24 hours in you can change into streetwear. Make sure none of it has strings, or they will need to cut it off. 5. The food is better than what I was expecting, but don't be looking for a gourmet experience. Order as much food as you can every meal, as you never know when you might be craving a snack. 6. All of the staff were absolutely incredible, but huge shoutouts to Sam, Chey, Alyssia (?), and Dr. Mercado for being extremely personable and ready to help anyone through whatever they were working through. 7. Go in hoping not for a cure or immediate treatment, but ready to look inward and take the time to learn what you need. I know that for people struggling with mental illness, such as myself, it can sometimes be hard to see that you need help, or be willing to accept it. I could have shut everything out and hunkered down, but then I wouldn't have had change and gotten the chance to see my cat again so soon! 8. Read, read, read! Yes, I am a former book lover who has gotten back into it, but reading truly saved me during my time here. Yes the groups were great, the people were kind, and the TV was enticing, but while you read, you make notes of what is happening in the literature and often get to think about your OWN story. Though I am glad to be home, I will in the weirdest way miss the comforting and routine structure of the Coping Center. I hope to be able to give back some day!

*PLEASE READ!!* I struggled with addiction and mental health for the last 10 years. In and out of rehab, hospitals, a never ending struggle. The coping center is THE FIRST place that actually made a difference. The doctor, the therapists, the nurses, everyone- were BEYOND supportive and knowledgeable of their jobs. Frankly, I’m shocked at some of the low reviews on here…if anything- I’d say it CLEARLY comes from disgruntled patients who weren’t ready to change or take genuine responsibility for themselves. Let’s not forget, the patients here have to be willing to change, if they aren’t willing, then no place will help them. Excuses won’t allow you to heal properly. How do I know this? Because I did it for the last decade of my life. Complaining about them “not releasing you”- is their way to love and protect you if you can’t do it yourself yet. Personally, I think is tragic people want to discredit this place- because I know it can help so many people like me. This is an individual journey, and a REAL CHANCE to learn how to love & put yourself first. This place gives you that opportunity!!! I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. If you need help, or someone you love needs help- save yourself time and send them here! It was a blessing, and I can’t brag enough! Thank you to everyone at the coping center for changing my life, and finally giving me the chance to live life the way I deserve to, and the chance to love my family the way they deserve to be loved!!!

My child and I met with Logan for nearly a year regarding her anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder. He was the perfect match for us…easy to talk to, responsive, helpful. We were finally able to successfully navigate cognitive behavioral therapy because Logan allowed my daughter to manage her exposures in her own time…it was exactly what she needed. I am also extremely grateful that Logan was open to us digging into her physiological health in order to uncover imbalances that were heightening her anxiety response. She is doing so well that our sessions have come to a close, but I can honestly say we will miss spending time with Logan each week. Thank you!
