I recently was at Findlay recovery a couple weeks ago and it was a very mixed experience for me and many others I was with and have heard from. While the groups and group leaders are good and friendly and knowledgeable and a few of the techs the same, it feels very half and half. You will have to seek out people who actually care about you as a person and is willing to listen to your problems. Because the other half of the staff will mean mug you, be disrespectful, show no care for you as a person or mental health and addiction struggles, and seem and state that the job is only a job to them not a calling or something they are passionate about. There is very little pro-social activities and the scheduled ones are not even facilitated but if they have a meeting they’ll expect you to be there or be only in your rooms when they say it’s a choice. You might have a therapist who will invalidate your needs and feelings and a case manager who constantly looks at you the wrong way and will make you prove yourself if you choose to go to a program outside of their buddy buddy insurance system that they profit off of. I heard that this place was number 2 in the nation but compared to a place like Robert Alexander center and impact wellness it doesn’t even compare in support and compassion. They seem to hire just because they need the staff not because the staff member is passionate or caring towards clients. Staff also target and ultimately choose to kick out clients based off mental health situations and needs so it is not a true dual diagnosis center cause they cannot seem to accommodate to even stable people with mental health struggles. Not trying to warn anyone off but if you come here you will have to fight for yourself more than in other places. If you do choose to bring up valid concerns to directors in my experience they will tell you to not focus on other things and problems and to focus on yourself which is just a big therapeutic slap in the face. While I was there no real problems were addressed and things from what I’ve heard have got worse. If you come here it is a good place for recovery and there are good people but there are many better choices from my experience. Sobriety date 7/10/25.

FRC saved my life. It's the best recovery center in ohio and the surrounding states. The staff is excellent. Very caring. The alumni group is a must. It's the best support I've had since I left 2 years ago. We do regular events multiple times a year. If you or someone you love needs help, this is the place.

Accepted Insurance

Findlay Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities. This program provides half-day treatment (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15 am to 12:30 pm).

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. At Linden Oaks the IOP consists of daily therapy, including group, individual and family.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Linden Oak's Addiction Services unit is a separate area within Linden Oaks Hospital that offers treatment for those undergoing withdrawal as they stop the cycle of addiction. Patients are detoxified under the care of a psychiatrist, and their staff has specialized training to provide the medication, monitoring and support needed during the withdrawal process.

12-step icon12-Step

Many treatment centers base their recovery models on the 12 step programming standard, which combines intensive peer support with spiritual, psychological, and emotional growth. Participants in 12 step recovery programs are expected to regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, peer-led, and open to the public. They are also required to select a sponsor to guide them through the recovery journey. These programs deploy spiritual principles to foster participants' self-understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Designed for individuals with moderate to severe addictions, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides a more intensive form of outpatient therapy. PHP treatment can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option after being discharged from a hospital or residential program. A partial hospitalization program typically requires a minimum of 20 hours weekly for an average of 90 days. Depending on your care plan, PHPs can include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services.

Treatments

An alcohol use disorder (AUD), also commonly called alcoholism, can range from mild to severe. It involves compulsive consumption of alcohol and maladaptive patterns of drinking that lead to negative physical, social, and relational consequences. Diverse treatment programs are available for people with AUD. Mutual-support groups, medications, and behavioral treatments are provided through alcohol rehab in Ohio. If co-occurring disorders are present, it is important to receive treatment for both disorders.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Ohio's substance abuse treatment programs can support individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use. Typically available on an outpatient or inpatient basis, these programs employ evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and holistic approaches to provide effective addiction treatment. This comprehensive approach ensures long-term sobriety, improved mental health, and coping skills to overcome risk of relapse.

In Ohio, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer outpatient, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and intensive outpatient options. Treatment usually includes a thorough mental health assessment, tailored treatment plan, various types of therapy, and education to equip you with the tools to achieve and maintain your sobriety.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction treatment gives you a safe space to discuss your emotional, mental, and physical challenges. Your therapist will guide and support you as you collaborate to develop personalized strategies to manage your stress and navigate the challenges of your recovery.

Participants of group therapy sessions typically learn coping skills, communication techniques, and relapse prevention strategies. This unique set of skills helps you to navigate the challenges you find in the community and supports your long term sobriety.

Family therapy offers a group time to collectively make an effort to understand and combat the issues and challenges associated with addiction. Therapists work with family members to establish healthy boundaries between each other and their loved one who is addicted, improve emotional support systems, and work together toward a sustained long term recovery.

Some couples therapy in Ohio is designed as short term treatment to address a specific problem in the relationship, such as anxiety, depression, or addiction. Other couples therapy may focus on general strengthening of the relationship by improving interactions.

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Edited see below: I’m the loved one of someone currently at Findlay Recovery Center, and I’m writing this out of deep concern—not to bash the staff, but to share a real experience that’s been painful and alarming. From the start, communication has been tightly controlled. My loved one has expressed fear about speaking openly on the phone, which raises red flags for me as someone who wants him to heal in a safe and open environment. Calls are not just limited, they are monitored, and if the staff doesn’t “approve” of what’s said, they reportedly cut off contact altogether. Now I’m no longer hearing from him at all. I’ve received no updates and I fear he’s being punished for simply trying to stay in contact with someone who cares about his recovery. This lack of transparency and over-control feels more like isolation than treatment. I’ve also read reports that clients are made to write 5-star reviews in front of staff, which makes me question the reliability of the overwhelmingly positive testimonials here. Real recovery doesn’t require silencing people or filtering communication. If you are considering sending someone you love here, I urge you to ask hard questions about their policies on contact, client rights, and transparency. I will be requesting wellness checks going forward to ensure my loved one is safe—because this center has not made that easy to confirm. Edited to add: Since posting this review, I was contacted by the facility—but I firmly believe this only happened because I spoke out publicly. It should not take a public review to receive basic updates on the wellbeing of a loved one in treatment. Do not send your loved one here. I’m going to echo what another review said by adding that if your loved one has a higher level of mental health needs this is not the place. Instead of admitting they are ill equipped to deal with the level of care needed they will punish the resident and the loved one.
