All of the team here truly care - there wasn’t a day Diana at the front didn’t have a smile and cheerful spirit about her. I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future.

This is a private facility with homelike amenities. Midwest Recovery us | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I have done the program twice at mrc. The aftercare they have is one of a kind. The staff is amazing. There are far too many to list individually. It is truly the staff in the facilities that have kept me sober. The one huge thing I disagree with though is upper management. They have definitely become more about money than the patients. They only accept bcbs for insurance, so unless you have a lot of money, don't bother coming here. There is no breakfast to speak of. I am currently in MRC’s Phase 2 program I have been through the 30 days in residential and 60 days in Phase 1 a structured sober living with peer support. The nurses and peer support were fantastic at detox always there is you need anything. Or just a shoulder to cry on.
At phase 1 Tyler and Jermaine were awesome people to be around the peer support there. You could talk to them about anything and they drove us to meetings all around the metro. I am now living in one of the two phase 2 houses. I have a great job, that I love. Making rent every month and still saving at the same time because rent is so affordable. All in all I would recommend anyone to MRC including Tiger Woods

I am currently in MRCs phase 2 sober living, and i can honestly say that MRC saved my life. They introduced me to a community of people that i can connect with, that will help me stay sober long after i leave MRC! Most of the staff is in recovery themselves so they understand where we have been in early sobriety; as well as the kind of love and compassion that we need! They have choices of: a 30 day detox program and a 45 day mental health program to start. As well as continued treatment with sober living options to reintegrate back into society as a sober person! I love MRC they changed my life for the better!

Finally getting around to sharing but I'm extremely grateful for this place. I'm coming up on 2 years clean from opiates. It was my first ever time in treatment and it stuck.
Very well. They set you up to be successful afterwards with doctors appointments and IOP so even though I haven't had much contact with GB themselves since, I've still was able to maintain treatment.
Food was AMAZING. I had my own 1-bdr apartment with a kitchenette. The therapy was constant so it kept you busy. All the people were nice and they really seemed to care about what they were doing and being there. The pool table and cereal bar were great amenities too.
My only complaint is that I left with a vitamin D deficiency, but it was wintertime in KS so we just couldn't do many outings.

I don’t know what we would have done without Crossroads. Our teenage son started using in middle school - abusing his prescription ADHD meds, overdosing on cold medicine, stealing our credit cards to purchase gummies through the mail, and spending every free moment, trying to figure out how to get high again. We found Crossroads through a recommendation from an addiction therapist, and we will be forever grateful. We didn’t want to traumatize him with a scary hospital stay or an institution that broke him down - our son already had such low self-esteem and low motivation. We wanted something to build him up and teach him how to live in the real world without needing to be high. The connections and friendships he developed at Crossroads on the very first day continue to be the key to his sobriety. He is never alone, and thanks to the weekly parent meetings, neither are we. Our anxiety has been replaced with hope because we are an active part of his success. We get weekly check ins and weekly meetings so we can support him at home when he’s not with kids and counselors from the program. The twinkle has returned to our son’s eyes because he’s been loved and supported from day one. He has friends and a sponsor and an entire safety net to catch him if he ever falls. Crossroads gives everyone a positive path forward that they call “enthusiastic sobriety”! The counselors and staff all know what they’re doing because they’ve been through this too. If you’re searching for a treatment plan for your son or daughter, consider the loving arms and daily hugs from Crossroads!

yes i 100% can see how some of these reviews can be true, (but it’s REALLY not that bad.) most of the 1-3 stars are just people who love to complain.
if your nice and don’t have any aggressive reports you’ll most likely go upstairs (you’d go there for self harm, suicide attempts, thoughts of suicide or eating disorders.)
downstairs is for more aggressive people who in their report have homicidal thoughts, or actually going through with them (or just being actually INSANE.)
while i was there, there was this one nurse who was absolutely amazing, she made my visit (5 days) so much better. helped me get a restraining order on my father, good mood, just amazing.
the staff upstairs are nice, funny, and helpful, there was only a couple of complaints i had there, which was going to bed at 8:30pm and waking up at 7:00am, there was this one kid who made EVERY girl at our group uncomfortable, but we reported him and got him removed.
the food there was somewhat good (it’s a hospital what can you expect), and if you didn’t like it you could request a box lunch (school field trip type food) and i’d say the whole time i was there i had a lot of people supporting me to actually work on my mental health, and i really feel like it helped lmao.
don’t let these reviews scare you.

I was treated here back in 2017-2018. I couldn’t be happier with their residential program. Their acute care was not the greatest, they were very dismissive but within a few of weeks I was moved to a residential unit for long-term care. For acute (short-term) care, I’d avoid sending any loved ones here. The staff lacked the capacity and training to handle the patients working through crisis.
Their residential program was outstanding and finally where I felt heard and listened to. There was a stark difference in how the staff handled different situations and crisis on the residential side to the acute care staff. They had an in-house school that I attended and earned credits towards my education. There were appropriate peer boundaries set in place and an appropriate amount of freedom for us to express ourselves without hindering our progress in our treatment plan. I left the residential program with a lot of progress in my own mental health. If it weren’t for my stay here I don’t believe I would’ve made it to where I am today and I am forever grateful for those here that made sure I hit my milestones.

Harrisonville, MO | Compass Health Network, located in Harrisonville, Missouri is a non-profit alcohol and drug rehab that offers treatment for a variety of substance abuse addictions including alcoholism, co-occurring mental health disorders, and opiate addiction. They offer flexible outpatient addiction therapy allowing patients to live at home while receiving regul | Treatments Programs Payment Options | An Outstanding Therapist Within an Imperfect System: A Nuanced Review
First, the things Compass Health gets clearly right: the building is genuinely impressive. It is clean, well maintained, and welcoming in a way many behavioral health facilities are not. The waiting area is bright and organized, and there is a dedicated children's area with a wide variety of clean toys and interactive activities that would put most parents at ease. The space for children is clearly well thought out, and the whole facility projects a sense that the environment provided to patients genuinely matters. Whoever manages the upkeep here is doing an excellent job.
The most important part of my experience, though, is my therapist. Kaliesha Walker-Thompson is, without exaggeration, one of the finest therapists I have worked with across decades of mental health treatment. I had my first in-person session with her today after many previous telehealth appointments, and I left feeling genuinely lighter and calmer. She is warm, perceptive, and deeply skilled, and she creates a space where difficult topics feel safe to explore. She balances compassionate listening with practical therapeutic direction in a way that is both rare and extremely valuable. I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you are assigned to her, or can request her, I strongly encourage you to do so.
I am giving Compass Health as an organization four stars instead of five because of some system level policies that work against individualized care. One example of one of these policies is a rigid organizational stance against benzodiazepines applied as a blanket rule instead of a true case by case clinical evaluation. For patients who have been stable for nearly two decades with carefully monitored medications under a knowledgeable PCP, a one size fits all policy is not individualized medicine. Individual patient histories deserve individual clinical consideration, not a sweeping institutional rule.
Another concern is the requirement to establish very formal, specifically worded treatment goals at the very first session, before you and your therapist have had more than a session together. You are expected to fill in a template about your problem, the exact treatment method, and a time frame, even though you have barely begun to share your history or build rapport. That process feels driven more by paperwork than by the natural development of a therapeutic relationship, and it puts the administrative cart before the clinical horse.
There are also structural rules such as strict time restrictions, even when they believe something else would serve the patient better. A therapist who believes a patient needs just a little extra time after surfacing a traumatic memory should be empowered to provide that, especially when there is no one scheduled immediately afterward, instead of being constrained by policy strictly limiting session times.
In my experience, the quality of providers here can be very hit or miss. Sometimes you are matched with an excellent therapist, and sometimes you end up with someone who is not a good fit. There does not seem to be a strong process for matching clients with providers based on compatibility, so you may need to advocate for yourself and request a change until you find someone you truly connect with. When you do find the right person, as I have with Kaliesha, the care can be outstanding.
The bottom line: the facility is clean, safe, and welcoming, and therapists like Kaliesha Walker-Thompson are absolutely exceptional. My experience with her today was fantastic, and I felt heard, respected, and genuinely helped. Her EMDR sessions are extremely helpful, and she is well-trained in EMDR. I am giving four stars because of organizational policies and structures, not because of any problem with my therapist or this visit. I would highly recommend Kaliesha to anyone receiving care at Compass Health Network.

The front desk was very helpful and nice. You have to have the understanding that your first visit can take up to 2 hours. Nice people and comfortable waiting room.

Pathways gave me the tools I needed to be able to recover and not only that, also to not fall again. They are very good at what they do and without them I don't know where would I be.
