Miami County Recovery Council (now known as TCN Behavioral Health) is an addiction treatment center located in Troy, Ohio. The center also provides important community services, including case management, mental health services, and referrals.

Addiction services include mental health assessments and counseling, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab, outpatient programs, detox, and sober living.

Mental Health Assessment & Counseling
Assessments evaluate mental health status and severity of addiction and inform an individualized treatment plan This plan may include counseling to help patients achieve and sustain recovery.

Inpatient Detox
Withdrawal management services at TCN Behavioral Health allow individuals to safely and comfortably detox from drugs and alcohol. Following detox, patients may be referred to an addiction treatment program.

Addiction Treatment
Available to adults aged 18 and older, inpatient treatment begins with an assessment and creation of an individualized treatment plan. Miami County Recovery Council uses evidence-based practices to treat addiction and mental health conditions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, counseling, recovery support groups, and relapse prevention.

Outpatient Programs
This program is for individuals who need addiction treatment but do not need 24-hour medical assistance. Outpatient treatment is available during the day and evenings. Treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducational groups to enhance coping skills, encourage relapse prevention, and offer recovery meetings.

Sober Living
Sober living is a structured recovery residence for people in early recovery who have completed treatment but are not ready to return home. Residents are required to attend regular recovery meetings and comply with house rules, which may include random drug screening.

Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.

Medical detox involves clearing your body of drugs and/or alcohol under the 24/7 care of licensed medical professionals. If you’ve become dependent on alcohol or drugs (like benzodiazepines or opioids), quitting abruptly can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects. The purpose of medically assisted detox is to keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be provided if necessary to mitigate any withdrawal symptoms.

When you leave the structured setting of rehab, returning home can trigger relapse due to the abrupt change in environment. Men’s and women’s sober living homes act as transitional spaces to continue developing tools for recovery before fully re-entering society. It gives you time to adjust to the demands of life, in a setting that is free from substances.

I went there for court ordered assessment for ovi. I have never had a problem with drugs in my life. They use a digital pad to have me sign documents and I had to trust what they were saying was on them when told to sign. They refused multiple times to give me a copy of the ... read more
