Making the choice to call the Aster Springs Ohio admissions team, do an assessment, and accept their recommendation was not easy. I was scared and thought there was no hope. My wonderful admissions resource, Renessa, was so helpful in guiding me every step of the way by answering all my questions, challenging my ED’s fears about treatment, and encouraging me. I would not have been able to make this choice without her advocacy and support. When you walk through the doors, you are met with some of the kindest people you will ever come across in this field, and sometimes they even come out to the parking lot to help you not have to walk through the doors alone. They all genuinely care about this work and will do everything they can to help you on your journey. The staff is phenomenal from maintenance, RCS’s, Nurses, the Clinical staff and Dietitians to Leadership. While in treatment, you build great rapport with your treatment team, especially the more honest you are with them, but you also connect so much with all the staff in the building. To work at Aster Springs Ohio is to care about the patients by challenging the eating disorders and supporting the person every step of the way. They truly all care so much and all have their own reasons for being in this work. I absolutely gained my life back by choosing to come to Aster Springs Ohio, and I would make the same choice every time. The work of fighting your eating disorder and choosing recovery continues when you walk out of the doors, but you move forward with all the skills, tools, and support learned during your stay in addition to joining the alumni community. If you are struggling, reach out and share your concerns with the admissions staff. I know it made all the difference for me in being able to take steps towards choosing recovery consistently. If you are at Aster Springs, you will not have to struggle with anything alone. Instead of fighting your eating disorder in isolation and secrets, you will be met with a safe space for honesty, support, and healing.

I went to the Emergency at Flower Hospital after getting dizzy and breaking my fall at home. I’m 70 and never had such an episode.
The staff from my arrival to discharge were amazing. Marie in ER was fantastic and witnessed a dizzy episode I was experiencing. She immediately notified the Nurse Practitioner and the additional Test.
The first Doctor I met in the ER got me some more warm blankets and made a good wrap around my legs and feet.
After consulting with another doctor my daughter agreed with the doctor that I should be admitted.
I went to room 717 for overnight observation.
Oh my the staff just continued their friendly, professional and efficient way of caring for me. I’m like do they have cameras watching them.
They took their time introduced themselves and their positions. They explained how test results would be given to the house doctor who would consult with a neurologist.
It’s about 3:30 and I can’t remember the one nurse’s name but she has 2 children. My daughter was saying something about my 5&6 yr old grand children, she shared with my daughter about her kids to make my daughter feel comfortable. She the explained it was important for me to eat and gave her instructions on how to order from the menu.
It’s room service style just like a hotel, oh my.
I ordered grill chicken Alfredo with onions and mushrooms. A side salad, 2 oatmeal raisin cookies and a fruit cup. It came in about 35 min.and was delicious and the salad was so fresh. I’m not one to call the nurse often but when did they responded and always said that’s what we’re here for.
Discharged went smoothly everything was explained by house doctor and nurse.
I was told I would be discharged around 11am.
I asked if I could eat breakfast and was told most definitely, we would never send you home hungry.
I realize Flower is a smaller hospital but the and efficiency of the entire staff and service can compete with any other hospital big or small. I would like to humbly thank everyone with my care and discharge.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed.
I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through.
I’m currently working with Bruce, and he’s been great — professional, understanding, and consistent.
Thank you to everyone at Unison. Your dedication and compassion truly changed my life. I appreciate each and every one of you.

The Fact team is a joke. Both of my case managers don't answer phones, return calls and cancel appointments at the very last second. A couple of times, I've called because they were late and they had no clue about an appointment. Everyone complains they're overbooked and understaffed. Until today I haven't had any contact with both of my case managers for over 30 days. I couldn't get the help I needed on a Saturday because no one would answer their phone all week. No empathy whatsoever and have the nerve to take up social work.

I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the care I received at the veteran clinic yesterday. 05/27/25 I had accidentally left my effexor in another city and hadn’t taken it in three days (please don’t EVER do this!), I was a complete wreck, both physically and emotionally. I rushed to the clinic in a bad state, and even though they were clearly understaffed, everyone treated me with such compassion and urgency.
I especially want to thank the pharmacy tech working at the desk by the windows. I was crying, struggling, and deep in withdrawal symptoms, but she never once made me feel judged or invalidated. she was kind, patient, and truly went above and beyond to help me get what I needed. her empathy meant everything to me in that moment.
I also want to shout out the woman who helped with registration. she was calm, efficient, and kind, which really helped ease some of my anxiety.
I left that clinic feeling heard, cared for, and supported. thank you so much to the team for taking care of us!!!!

My son was transferred here from Central Ave. The building is in desperate need for repairs/upgrades. There's a very damp moldy stench in the building. Waiting area needs to be bigger, seems the entire family of the patients come to appointments. My son's new therapist was nice with him. Interacted with him. Which is more than I can say other places have offered my son. Upon leaving you walk into a parking lot of chaos. Children outside with I'm unsure if they're parents or counselor/therapists. There's so much yelling and cussing, things being thrown. In other words, it was very ghetto.
Loved the therapist but the ambience was way off and doesn't provide a healthy or safe environment for younger children, in my opinion.

You know, I've been seeing Jim for about fifteen years now. I've often said that finding a good therapist is a bit like finding a romantic partner: It's topsy, it's turvy and one like or another you're probably going to get screwed. But Jim has kept me grounded in that time and most importantly away from killing myself (always a risk). I'm sure I do not always agree with him on material or political matters, but that's part of what makes the relationship special.
Jim has kept me from some dark places. You won't always like what he has to say, but you'll always need to hear it. I credit him with keeping me alive and what else can you say of a man?

Social workers are great, therapists are great, nurse practitioners are great, this review is more for HEGIRA in general but their psych doctors are all disrespectful.will talk down to you, judge you from the very beginning, at least that's my experience with each new doctor I see and location I go to. They see I am prescribed Suboxone (have been for 5 plus years) and try to take me off of my psych meds I've been on for five years or longer.yes, one is a controlled substance but ive heard so many reasons why they won't or can't continue me on my medicine that I know works because I've been told multiple times completely different stories.it took years to find the right cocktail that works for me.only by the prescribing doctors do I ever have anything to complain about.i don't usually leave reviews for anything unless it's something I love or it's a genuine problem.i know plenty of people who are prescribed incredibly unnecessary amounts of drugs, or people with the same or similar combination I am on and don't have the problem i am having. opioid crisis I get it but not everyone taking them is abusing them.is the only way I'm going to get the same meds I've always been on by going to a shrink where I have to pay? I've seen plenty of doctors who weren't psych doctors but would still give me my psych meds with my Suboxone, yes things are different now more strict, but over the last two and a half years of trying to find a shrink to get my stuff from the right doctor , I haven't had a psych prescribe my psych meds to me In almost three years. My PCP and my Suboxone doctor help me by writing them as long as I show them I am trying to get in somewhere. So if it's perfectly fine for the doctors who really shouldn't be giving benzos scripts to me (psych meds were originally started from actual psychiatrist in the beginning) why in the EFF will absolutely no one help me?!?

I've been going to next step clubhouse for 20 years the first 18 years was great until we got a new coordinator in Oct 2016 she was firing people for no reason and how she got a job at another clubhouse is beyond recognition it's probably her boss who she is good friends with and got her a good recommendation with is the aos supervisor she didn't care about the members and charging them for transportation which Medicaid pays for and that is considered Medicare fraud and the new coordinator is friends with her i think that is totally wrong beware

I asked that not come near me again and request was granted. Then there was the one nurse, female, she hated being at work. She complained a few times coming into my room! She was a great nurse. I think she just had to many shifts working back to back!!! She stopped complaining after we prayed for her and giving her hugs😭 and love ♥️!!!

Dearborn, Michigan | Apex Behavioral Health Dearborn PLLC is located in Dearborn, Michigan. It’s a medical facility that provides behavioral healthcare to adults and adolescents who are struggling with their mental wellness. They also provide services if you have a co-occurring drug, alcohol or substance use disorder. There are other specialized programs for various | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’ve been using this office for a year now. I see two providers (psychiatrist, therapist)
Ramesh is a wonderful psychiatrist! I met her back in 2018, but only left because I got a therapist in a different office, where their policy was that I had to have their psychiatrist if I went to their therapist. I did not like the psychiatrist after Ramesh, I wanted to go back to her. I then moved states, where I had to change psychiatrists 3 times and went extended periods of time without one due to frustration. None of them worked for me. When I moved back to Michigan I was happy to come back to Ramesh, and was even happier that she remembered me after 5 years!
The therapist I started seeing in the office is Moray, him and I clicked immediately and it makes going to therapy both fun and actually fruitful. He has a 50:50 listening/feedback style and he’s very realistic, not sugar coating anything, not taking or giving bs. Sometimes the things he says does hit pretty hard, but I personally need that, and it’s always been for the best. Because of this I can make the changes I need to with more clarity and sometimes even prevent problems I was going to create by trying to fix other problems.
The office staff at the desk are very polite, I’ve never had any issues with them or getting ahold of them on the phone. I have however had issues with whoever deals with the medications. I was having a really big issue a while back with my sleep medication, so I called the office and explained, they directed me to the man that was dealing with the medications, I explained my issue.. he didn’t listen. In fact, when I tried to re-explain my problem as it was apparent he misheard me, he snapped at me, angrily telling me not to interrupt him and asked if I wanted my sleep meds or not. We ended up giving back and forth attitude over the phone for a bit, which is probably why my problem wasn’t fixed that day.
The office itself is always very clean, and so is the building it’s located in. The office itself doesn’t have a bathroom for guests, but the building has bathrooms near the elevators. Unrelated but I don’t know who is doing this, but every time I go into the women’s bathroom on the first floor it smells like the aftermath of 77 White Castle sliders, Taco Bell burritos, and grande Starbucks lattes. Whoever is doing that, for the love of all that is holy please bring febreze in your purse. It would save lives. Specifically mine.
So after careful consideration, the verdict is 4/5 stars, only taking one away because of the rude and unhelpful guy in medications.

Update: Psychiatrist has been great, and I have had zero issues since my initial review with front desk staff. I have recommended Apex to friends and would continue to do so, my experience has not had any of the negatives shared in other reviews. The front desk staffing has improved, everyone has been 100% courteous and professional. Truly no complaints.
I will update my review as my treatment continues, but it has so far been mostly positive. There must have been a change in front office since some of these reviews, as I never encountered any rudeness from the front desk staff. I will say that they are understaffed at the front desk leading to some extended wait times and potential for mistakes. Psychologist I have seen is fantastic, and they scheduled me to see a psychiatrist in less than a month, which sounds long but for the industry is actually quite soon.

Southgate, Michigan | New Oakland Family Centers is a healthcare network with several locations throughout the state of Michigan, including the Southgate Center located in Southgate, Michigan. They provide mental health treatment and services to children, adolescents and adults in the Downriver area. Their motto is The Right Care at The Right Time. They have three diff | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I had off & on experiences throughout my multiple times here. A few staff every now & then bugged me, and I had some uncomfortable circumstances with other clients but overall– the PHP program helped quite a bit. Mrs. Nichelle, Mr. Chase, and Mrs. Flo were overall my favorite staff. They were kind, very very understanding and overall did their best too help people at their crisis points, even when times got heavy. They made sure everyone was accommodated too, and comfortable. I cannot recall the amount of times I've came back or needed a few minutes, and they didn't get upset or seem disappointed– but more or so gentle, and understanding. As for outpatient therapy, Ashley has been by far the best out of all 3 therapists I've had!! She's been nothing but understanding, and sympathetic towards my experiences. Psychiatry is iffy though, there's not much I know how too word about it.

Also giving 1 star cause 0 isn't an option.
If your life's at risk PLEASE don't come here. You won't be properly evaluated, you won't get any mental health support, you will be neglected and deemined. The psychiatrist there (Dr. Ahmed Janjua) told me that what I did was a felony (suicide attempt), that I was being punished for what I did, how I was a bad mom and that he could held me up to 90 days if he wanted to and if I desagree with his decision, there was a court there and he could take me. I was truly terrified I would never get to go home, it was a very qtraumatic experience. I filed too many complaints about this and they only say "I know, I'm sorry" but they're great at Charging you almost like "I know you just tried to kill yourself, I know we neglected you, but here is your over 1,600 dlls bill for you to pay". This place should be shut down.

If you or your loved one's life is at risk, please remove them from this facility. They do not provide mental health support. They sedate their patients, do not properly evaluate patient health after a suicide attempt and lock them in a room without resources to better their mental state. They give anti-pshycosis meds without a diagnosis and then discharge suicidal patients in less than 72 hours only to have them arrested for acts done by mental illness patients. This facility is severely neglectful and should not be in practice.
