I graduated from Aster Springs over three months ago, but I’m just doing this now. ASOH is a lovely place. The staff is beyond lovely. The biggest shout out to all of the RCS. They are absolutely amazing. They work so hard to make sure we're all doing okay. They're very accepting of constructive criticism. I do think that coming here saved my life and paved a path for the future. Six months ago, I didn't think recovery was possible, I thought everyone was faking it, but now, I can confidently say that recovery is possible. ❤️pp graphite Here's something I wrote on my last night in res: Treatment has been one of the best things for me. Three months ago, I was a shell of a human. I don't recognize the person she was. And I don't want to. She was miserable and just didn't know it yet. I was the girl who argued this was fun. But when I went to treatment, a whole new world opened up for me. I had the chance to be seen by people who not only understood me, but understood how to help. I had the chance to learn, to grow, and to make mistakes. For the longest time, I was in and out of behaviors, trying to fight the process. But one day, I stopped fighting it. So what if I eat food? So what if I don't look like I want? Who cares? You only live this life once, why spend it flirting with death? That's the type of shit I hated hearing, but now? These are things I can not only say, but believe. I never wanted to get better. I never wanted to come here, but I did. I did and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Everyone thinks residential is some scary place where they force food down your throat and all the clients stab each other in the back whenever they can, but it doesn't have to be that way. I learned how to make friends. I made the strongest connections with the sweetest people who hurt just as deeply as I did. We talked, we joked, we laughed, we held each other accountable, and we cried when they left. Your support system is so important. If you can't do it for yourself yet, do it for those in the milieu. Listen to the staff, listen to your therapists. They gave me my life back. When I look back now, I don't understand myself. I don't understand the girl who wanted nothing more than to shrink. That's not living. I wasn't living. I was dying. I just didn't want to admit it, even at my sickest. I don't know why I thought that was the only way life could be. Life is so much more than that when food isn't the enemy or when food isn't your only way of communication. I never thought I could do it. I never thought I could get better. I never thought I'd leave the cycle. But I did. I'm not done recovering. I still have a long way to go. Maybe I will never stop recovering. But that doesn't sound so scary anymore. It really doesn't. I'll always have thoughts, but now I know what it's like to have something good in life. There's more to life than suffering. And that's beautiful. I never thought I'd get the point that I'm at today. But I did. I have made so many friends, learned so many things, and had so many amazing experiences. So, I'm sitting here, the night before I leave residential, crying. Not crying because I'm sad or upset, but crying because I'll miss this place. The experiences, both good and bad, my friends who I will miss dearly, and the staff that coached me and comforted me. While leaving may be scary and I'm leaving so much behind, the biggest thing I'm leaving behind is my eating disorder. And that's powerful. Seeing myself three months ago, I did the impossible. I'm leaving Residential. And while there are many mixed emotions, the most important, I'm feeling hopeful. I'm feeling confident that everything will be okay, and food really isn't as bad as it might seem. So take it from me, or don't. That's your choice. But you know what else is your choice? Recovery. And recovery IS possible. For anyone, whether you believe it or not. I didn't believe I could recover, I wasn't even sure if. I wanted to. But look at where I am now. I'm doing the impossible, because maybe "impossible" isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

There is one person that I personally am rating 5 stars because ever since I got there she has been very nice, has more manners than royalty, and a lot of others feel the same. She donated food clothes and helped me out when I was in need. Don't take kindness for weakness though if you pull up with bad energy? Brightveiw has been such a blessing for me. They do things a little different there….but, IT WORKS!!!! It is totally a no judgement zone where they don’t make a person feel bad for anything. The entire staff will welcome you with open arms. I know I’m in the right place when the staff are genuinely happy to be at work. I love the whole team, but one smile in particular really made me feel unafraid and at peace on my first day there (and everyday since then) and that’s Jeremy!!! He is so kind and welcoming. He is the first person you see when you come in and the last one to wish you well on the way out. I am so thankful for this place!!

I have been coming to BrightView for around 6 months after going to pinnacle for 6 years. It is a wonderful place. All the staff have been awesome and treat the patients as humans not as just another addict. From the front desk to nurses to the counselors to the Drs. A lot of the staff have been there a few years which that right there tells you its a good place bc thats rare in this line of work. I do telehealth for counseling which I love . Carrie has been one of the best counselors I have ever had or seen. She's at #2 in my own chart. I hope to start taking the steps to wean off and this is first time I've ever felt confident about doing it despite the pain as I know there are ways to deal with it now. I'm so happy I switched to here.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed. I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through. Arrowhead cared for me when I was unable to care for myself. From the time I walked through the door to the time I left, they cared. They bend over backwards to move us to a healthy mindset to succeed. It's not uncommon for The Admistrators to come out of their offices and walk through Unit and talk to us and ask how can they help us on our journey and address our needs. What can they do to improve? I know this personally because one day this lady dressed in sparkling white was walking through the Unit with a clipboard. I asked "Sooo are you the Good Witch of the East?". She smiled (and that particular day I needed that smile) and replied "Actually I'm the CEO". I was like "So you're in charge?" I did a walk in for severe pain in my leg without any appointment! From the check in desk, to my primary doctors,. Nurse, physical therapist gentleman, and x ray staff all were absolutely incredible and kind!!! Wait was short and treatment was absolutely wonderful!! I've been an addict for 20 years. I have tried quitting on my own, jails, multiple rehabs and IOPs and have honestly never had the peace that I have found here.I've been at Racing for recovery for a little less than a week and in this time I feel more alive, more accepted, and more appreciated than I have in years maybe even my entire life. For the first Time in forever I feel seen and I feel heard. I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody. I have even changed my diet to go along with the holistic approach that Todd Crandall has set forth and I already have more energy than meth ever gave me and I'm clear headed. like I'm happy I'm genuinely happy, and I walk outside I see the sunshine and I dance in the street listening to music and smiling. do you know how long it's been since I genuinely smiled from my soul? I couldn't be happier. If you are tired... like genuinely tired of where your life is at right now, the uncertainties, the loneliness, hunger, constantly looking over your shoulder, nobody trusting you, not knowing where you're going to lay your head... If you're tired of feeling unwanted and you're eaten up with guilt and shame, I fully recommend this place. They really have so much to offer and you don't have to worry about being in a lockdown facility where they just cram the same so-called treatment down everybody's throat for "one size fits all" that comes from a handbook.. everyone in this community is so accepting and they genuinely care. they get to know you on an individual basis and they really listen to what you have to say. this is a beautiful place with beautiful people who've walked in your shoes. I get it I really really do as I said I've been an addict for over 20 years and I've never been happier and I am right now. Here you can find yourself and you can learn to love yourself and have a chance to rebuild a better life for you and your family. Please don't lose hope, give them a call, I promise you won't regret it.

I am a UT nursing student and we had the pleasure of coming to this facility for a clinical experience. I found it to be very helpful as a student because we always tell our patients that one of the best interventions and ways to cope include support groups and peer support. Most of the time you don’t get that experience unless you are in need of it so it was very helpful to attend a group and to actually see how helpful it can be to those who need it. Everyone in the group was supportive of each other and overall it was a very nice experience. The facility is great and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend racing for recovery!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars — Updated September 21, 2026 I originally wrote a very negative review of Harbor Behavioral Health based on my experiences going back to around 2004–2005, when I first became connected with Harbor through my high school. At the time, I was extremely frustrated with the services I received, the frequent changes in caseworkers, and some of my experiences with staff and providers. Over the years, I went through many different caseworkers and had experiences that made me feel like my needs were not always being properly understood or supported. However, after reflecting on my experiences over the years, I want to update my review and acknowledge the positive changes and support I have received from Harbor Behavioral Health. I have had some good experiences with therapists and psychologists throughout the years, and I appreciate the professionals who have taken the time to work with me and support me. Harbor has also helped me with several important things outside of therapy, including assistance with getting an apartment, transportation through medical cabs to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, and other basic necessities. Most importantly, I am thankful for the housing support I have received. After dealing with an infestation crisis at my previous apartment and experiencing homelessness until August 2025, Harbor Behavioral Health has helped me work toward getting stable housing again and finding another apartment. That support has meant a lot to me because maintaining stable housing is extremely important. I also recently started working with a new caseworker, and I am hopeful about continuing to work together and addressing my current housing and other needs. Looking back, I recognize that my earlier review reflected a very difficult period in my life. My experiences with Harbor have not always been perfect, but I also don't want my old review to overlook the people and services that have genuinely helped me. As of September 21, 2026, I am updating my review to 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have decided to take down my previous negative comments and give credit to Harbor Behavioral Health for the assistance and support I have received over the years, especially with therapy, psychological services, transportation, basic necessities, and housing. Thank you to the Harbor staff and providers who have helped me along the way. I appreciate the support I've received and hope to continue moving forward in a positive direction.That version keeps your history intact without pretending the old problems never happened, while making it clear that your current experience is substantially more positive.

I have been going to Harbor behavioral health for psychiatric care and I even started out going there for therapy. It has been the most life-changing and wonderful/painful/tear filled/confusing, but ultimately hopeful experience I have ever had. They are changing my life. Sarah Bailey was my psychiatrist right after my psychosis and she was with me for the past two years. She helped me learn to walk and was there for me every time I had a crisis. She and Nikki were my cheerleaders through the toughest time in my life. Alexya Romo was the counselor that I found there and she is still my counselor to this day. If it wasn’t for these people, I don’t think I’d be where I am today. And yeah, I can’t speak for everyone but the team I got were all-stars. Fast forward to today: a woman named Mallory took Nikki’s place and she is very responsive, kind, and caring. I don’t know her well but I know she cares about her job. My new psychiatrist is Angela and we are still learning about each other and I think she is doing a good job listening to me and connecting with me. I think she has healthy and strong boundaries as a practitioner. Which makes me think she is trustworthy and that is a great place to start. Thanks guys.

My experience going there to get help was god sent. The staff, from the operations supervisor, to the aids, nurses, snd counselors were so kind and helpful to everyone in there. They always showed up in difficult times and were a listening ear. I highly recommend it to anything to through drug or alcohol addiction. Thank you for help. ❤️🙏🏽
