The one lady that works the desk gaslights patients and the last doctor I had was condescending and wouldn t listen to anything I had to say about my mental health. He even stopped meds I was on the first meeting I had with him, and only meeting, because he felt like they weren t working. Like how is he supposed to know it s the first appointment with him. My mental health has gone down the gutter so bad since I switched to him and he took away needed meds. Not to mention when I asked about possibly being on the spectrum of autism he literally told me word for word, your job wouldn t be promoting you to a shift manager if you had autism. He s literally an ableist working with people with disabilities due to mental health. It s disgusting 10/10 wouldn t recommend coming back or advising people to come here for their health needs. You won t actually get any help from this place just more trauma and your health will decline. I really hope this place gets investigated

I m giving this place a 1 star review, however my doctor Sara Bailey gets 5 stars! She is the only Dr that has helped me and actually shows she cares. I m so sad to hear that Harbor will not be having her work there anymore. This is going to cause a negative impact on YOUR FACILITY. Not only will you guys be losing patients but most importantly you will be losing a doctor who truly cares about her patients and her job. I m extremely disappointed with how harbor has handled things and I don t recommend this place at all, but I do recommend her! She s the best person that I ve encountered. I will be following her to her next workplace. This place doesn t stand a chance with out her. Thank you Dr. Sara Bailey for showing me compassion, kindness, and empathy when working with me. I m so grateful to have found someone like you!! Your work doesn t go unnoticed! Harbor good luck because you re going to need it!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Uses The Matrix Model for relapse prevention skills group therapy, providing up to 20 weeks of 2-hour, weekly group therapy sessions, providing the client with practical education about how to strengthen and maintain sobriety, and continue to build sober social connections which support a totally abstinent lifestyle. Group therapy is supported by weekly individual case management. This group is appropriate for a client who has already established at least several months of abstinent sobriety, and has already received and embraced education about addiction and has begun to establish a personal program of recovery.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Uses The Matrix Model for early recovery skills group therapy, providing up to 18 3-hour, 3x/week group therapy sessions educating the client on recognizing the symptoms and triggers for addiction, establishing a solid program of recovery, avoiding triggers, and integrating socially with others in recovery, to establish a totally abstinent lifestyle. Group therapy is supported by weekly individual case management.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

AOD treatment starts with an assessment to determine the person’s individual treatment needs. Services are provided based on the person’s treatment needs and according to the individual treatment plan created together by the client and staff. Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. The YES Program includes both job placement and retention activities. Job development activities include: job readiness and job-seeking skills classes, job development and job placement. Retention activities include not only follow-along to intervene as needed with the employer and youth, but also life skills classes (eg, parenting skills, anger management, pregnancy prevention, and budgeting) and case management services to address non-work needs of participants such as transportation, child care, and other supports.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a short-term treatment typically provided in 12 to 18 sessions of 60 to 90 minutes, depending on treatment needs. The intervention is typically provided in our office, but it has been used in community and in-home settings.

My psych provider left and didn’t send my meds in. The nurse scheduled me telehealth with someone new since that’s what I’ve always done and the day of they called to cancel me because I need to be in person. This was a couple hours before my appointment while I’m at work and can’t leave. No provider will send the meds in until seeing me even though I’ve been on them for over a year. Absolutely WILD they won’t fill until I can be seen because of THEIR several mistakes.

I personally don’t like this facility. I work in healthcare and I know things come up. However, when I am waiting 15-20 minutes not once but twice for a telehealth appointment (with no communication as to whether or not they’re going to join) that’s just unprofessional. Something else that’s unprofessional is talking in a condescending and passive aggressive manner when “apologizing”. Patients rely on you to get the medicine and treatment they direly need. It’s quite aggravating to receive 5+ appointment reminder calls throughout the week only to have to wait an unreasonable amount of time on MULTIPLE occasions.

Worst place ever for mental health care. Doctors can't keep appointments and they keep you waiting when they do show, 15 to 20 mins late. They want you to be held accountable, practically punish you when you can't keep appointments but they don't expect the same treatment in return. All this place is, is an insurance payday scam. They don't care about anyone but themselves.
