Additionally they offer crisis intervention services a | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Quick shoutout to the staff here.
I have sat in that waiting room far more times than I imagined i would. I have seen people come in with a crisis and just say that they needed help. The front desk person starts to make calls to see who they can get up front to help them.
They care. They are also not gods. They are human. And I am guessing on this but I have a feeling it is a rather high stress job.
My family has been helped more times than I can count this last year. I mean - ha - I feel like our family should be poster children for them.
Tricia is a wonderful, lovely therapist. I cried when my daughter was dropped from Medicaid and was no longer eligible for the program. We did end up with Promedica where she ended up getting a great doctor.
Lacey, Jonelle and a few others who have come and gone have been instrumental in helping my older daughter get services as a disabled adult.
The people who work here - I mean - to say they care is putting it mildly. They go above and beyond in unseen ways to care for the people who walk through their doors.
With that being said - resources are not unlimited. And as decisions have to get made - they care. I've seen it multiple times.
If you are having a crisis - yes you can call them.
If you are having a crisis - yes you can go in during hours.
They will do their best.

ASOH is a lovely place. The staff is beyond lovely. The biggest shout out to all of the RCS. They are absolutely amazing. They work so hard to make sure we're all doing okay. They're very accepting of constructive criticism. I do think that coming here saved my life and paved a path for the future. Six months ago, I didn't think recovery was possible, I thought everyone was faking it, but now, I can confidently say that recovery is possible.

Here's something I wrote on my last night in res:
Treatment has been one of the best things for me. Three months ago, I was a shell of a human. I don't recognize the person she was. And I don't want to. She was miserable and just didn't know it yet. I was the girl who argued this was fun. But when I went to treatment, a whole new world opened up for me. I had the chance to be seen by people who not only understood me, but understood how to help. I had the chance to learn, to grow, and to make mistakes. For the longest time, I was in and out of behaviors, trying to fight the process. But one day, I stopped fighting it. So what if I eat food? So what if I don't look like I want? Who cares? You only live this life once, why spend it flirting with death? That's the type of shit I hated hearing, but now? These are things I can not only say, but believe.
I never wanted to get better. I never wanted to come here, but I did. I did and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Everyone thinks residential is some scary place where they force food down your throat and all the clients stab each other in the back whenever they can, but it doesn't have to be that way. I learned how to make friends. I made the strongest connections with the sweetest people who hurt just as deeply as I did. We talked, we joked, we laughed, we held each other accountable, and we cried when they left. Your support system is so important. If you can't do it for yourself yet, do it for those in the milieu.
Listen to the staff, listen to your therapists. They gave me my life back. When I look back now, I don't understand myself. I don't understand the girl who wanted nothing more than to shrink. That's not living. I wasn't living. I was dying. I just didn't want to admit it, even at my sickest. I don't know why I thought that was the only way life could be. Life is so much more than that when food isn't the enemy or when food isn't your only way of communication. I never thought I could do it. I never thought I could get better. I never thought I'd leave the cycle. But I did.
I'm not done recovering. I still have a long way to go. Maybe I will never stop recovering. But that doesn't sound so scary anymore. It really doesn't. I'll always have thoughts, but now I know what it's like to have something good in life. There's more to life than suffering. And that's beautiful. I never thought I'd get the point that I'm at today. But I did.
I have made so many friends, learned so many things, and had so many amazing experiences.
So, I'm sitting here, the night before I leave residential, crying. Not crying because I'm sad or upset, but crying because I'll miss this place. The experiences, both good and bad, my friends who I will miss dearly, and the staff that coached me and comforted me. While leaving may be scary and I'm leaving so much behind, the biggest thing I'm leaving behind is my eating disorder. And that's powerful. Seeing myself three months ago, I did the impossible. I'm leaving Residential. And while there are many mixed emotions, the most important, I'm feeling hopeful. I'm feeling confident that everything will be okay, and food really isn't as bad as it might seem. So take it from me, or don't. That's your choice. But you know what else is your choice? Recovery. And recovery IS possible. For anyone, whether you believe it or not. I didn't believe I could recover, I wasn't even sure if. I wanted to. But look at where I am now. I'm doing the impossible, because maybe "impossible" isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I cannot express how much this place has done for me in the past few months. Aster Springs Ohio, doesn't just heal you externally, but also deep down internally. The facility itself is so welcoming. There are comfy chairs, sofas, and beds that make you feel right at home. And when you feel homesick, your treatment team and the staff will try anything to make you feel better. There are connection calls you can make at night, and every week there's some kind of outing, such as the library or the movies. When I first came, my expectations were extremely low, but for my first residential program, I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike some other programs, Aster Springs focuses on community and branching out to others for guidance, instead of the primary focus of restoration. I will say this: the food here is very tasty. I recommend the hot pastrami sandwich as well as one of the DCS's homemade pizzas. I love how in Aster Springs, everyone has a say in what they want, and you will never be unacknowledged. All of the DCS staff and RCS staff are very pleasant to talk to, especially when you are feeling low one day and your treatment team isn't available. Another thing I love about Aster Springs is the diversity of treatment from adolescents to adults. As an adolescent client, I felt like the treatment was guided towards teens, and the adult treatment was guided towards adults. I admit, hyping yourself up to go to residential isn't the easiest thing, but Aster Springs is so worth it. Recovery is so worth it. I am grateful for how they make you focus on recovery, and not numbers, by covering up labels and things like that. Whoever needs a supportive, caring, inclusive, specialized, and talented community to support their recovery, Aster Springs Ohio, is the way to go. Shoutout to Dietitian Trish and Therapist Kam for being the best treatment team ever, and helping me when things got rough. And thanks to all the DCS staff, especially you, Elena, for making such preferred food and making me smile. Thanks to Kelsey for hosting the most amazing groups, and thanks to Abbey and all the nursing staff for making sure that we're all comfortable during this process. Lastly, thank you to the entire Aster Springs staff for healing the part of me I didn't know was possible, and I would definitely recommend this facility! (past patient #thatpower)

This place was amazing, Rita was my psychology nurse practitioner, and was extremely thorough, understanding, and helpful, she gave me a plan for care, and gave me back up plans if what we decided upon together for the original plan did not work out for me. I walked in slightly skeptical because of my one and only interaction with psychology before this, and left feeling so relieved, and feel excited to follow up with her, and am confident my mental health will only improve as long as I stick with our plan. Midwest saved me if not for Midwest and the staff and specific people like Josh Jason my case manager David Jess Autumn Gabe Ms Trish Dale Wendell the nurse Kansas and the therapist Tim i would have done detox and left and went right back to using but the above people I specifically mentioned gave me hope to know they all was where I had been and just seeing how happy and how there life is was Soo motivating and they all took the time out to not just talk but have conversations with me they really care and I cannot be more greatful for each and every one of them they are not the only reason I am where I am today but they all play a huge part in my sobriety I will never forget them and I couldn't be more Greatful that God placed them in my life without them I do not think I would have made it.... I hope they all are aware how much they ALL mean to alot of us that came thru the program.... I can never repay them or Midwest for what they have given me.... They guided me through all the emotions taught me the tools I needed to get myself back.... They all hold a very special place in my heart I love each and every one of them .... Maumee, OH | Arrowhead Behavioral Health, located in Maumee, Ohio, offers a team of dedicated professionals who specialize in the treatment of both mental health and substance use disorders. This is a unique facility that offers personalized care with treatment plans adapted to each patient's spiritual, physical and psychological needs. Arrowhead treats addicti | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Arrowhead cared for me when I was unable to care for myself. From the time I walked through the door to the time I left, they cared. They bend over backwards to move us to a healthy mindset to succeed. It's not uncommon for The Admistrators to come out of their offices and walk through Unit and talk to us and ask how can they help us on our journey and address our needs. What can they do to improve? I know this personally because one day this lady dressed in sparkling white was walking through the Unit with a clipboard. I asked "Sooo are you the Good Witch of the East?". She smiled (and that particular day I needed that smile) and replied "Actually I'm the CEO". I was like "So you're in charge?" She continued to smile as she nodded her head. I asked if we can go on a field trip. She laughed and said not now, but after you're discharged you can anywhere you want. Then she asked if I had a couple of minutes and we sat and had a conversation. She immediately started taking notes. How was I being treated, did I have additional needs they could accommodate and questions along that line. We talked for 20 - 30 minutes. Why would a CEO talk to ME for that long?...because she and her staff really do care. I have no doubt that should ANYBODY findself themself in a situation where they realize they need some help, Arrowhead is where you wanna start. They've got your 6.

The staff were phenomenal. They were empathetic.
Knowing what patients have gone through in life did not affect their professionalism or their morals. I truly appreciated that. I would recommend this hospital to any and everyone. I pray they get an adolescent wing.
There were groups that motivated us to think outside the box. Mindful exercise to open our mind, heart and spirit
There were spiritual groups to help us grow inside, look to/for a higher power. My higher power is God. They knew that and they were accommodating with it all. There were groups to help grow in patience and giving ourselves grace...We are human not computers but we are able to reset, step back,
start again...the next minute, next day. One day at a time. It's ok🥹
.P.S. Austin, you're great, no matter what. I'll also be praying for you to receive a bonus $$ real soon🤜🏾 and make sure you send me half of it😊 (inside joke)
