I became my brother's guardian upon the death of our mother. I transferred his care to Firelands in Sandusky County. He has day treatment appointments 3 times per week. I had such a great experience at FRC. Shout outs to therapist Brittany and group facilitators Doug and Kellie! I felt safe and at home here. I could tell everyone working here actually cared and invested in my recovery from mental illness. I am grateful for the conversations and support I received at FRC. The meals and snacks were amazing as well. When, after 2 days of being at FRC, I had to go to the ER, they sent a tech to accompany me so I wasn’t alone. That meant a lot. I appreciate everyone here so much and I highly recommend coming here to work on your recovery.

Updating my review to 4 stars instead of 2.I have been going here for 5 years. Sad to see Dr. Bentley leave. He was awesome. This place is way better in every way than the Marion center. The pharmacy here is great. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is one of the nurses is somewhat rude and confrontational at times. She should leave her opinions to the doctors and not try to give out medical/medication advice. The other nurse is very nice.

From the beginning, the staff come across as compassionate and attentive, treating clients with respect rather than judgement. What stands out most about RIO is how much emphasis they place on both accountability and understanding. The programs feel thoughtfully designed, offering a balance between clinical and support classes. Staff members are present and willing to listen, and that consistency can make a real difference during difficult moments in recovery. Overall, it’s a place that feels committed to helping people rebuild their lives in a steady, realistic way through a blend of privileges and accountability. Only negative I would add is that rules can be inconsistent and seem to appear on a daily basis, Other than that I loved RIO.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed. I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through. From the staff at every level, the physician, the nurses, the technical staff, the recreational therapists, the chefs, the office personel, the cleaning and house keeping staff, I won't mention names on the internet but you know exactly who you are. This place is complete. You're treated with what I consider the three C's of any people centered service facility. Care, Compassion, and Concern. It's all genuine. If you are at a low point and need a pick-me-up, if you are seeking to have an entire crew treat and meet you exactly where you are, if you need a stress free environment or 1 on 1 attention with spirited individuals who truly have an unbelievable passion and patience and grace for what they do, look no further. This isn't where dreams are necessarily made, but they are most certainly realized. You have to take care of you and be right with yourself before you can take care of anybody else. I wish I could be a part of this team but they are a select cohesive group with a gifted calling. Don't be ashamed. Don't be afraid. Mental health and substance abuse are real things. Take the time and invest in yourself and you'll get it back ten fold with this crew. Fall down seven times, stand up eight 💪🏼 🙌 👏 ❤️
