About Sigma Counseling Services, Inc

Sigma Counseling Services is an outpatient clinic located on the outskirts of Dallas in Carrollton, Texas. You can find a range of outpatient substance use and mental health services at their clinic. They serve adults as well as youth. They work with people who are involved with child protective services and the legal system.

They have several substance use programs that you can take part in, depending on what is right for you. There’s an intensive outpatient program where you would participate in groups a few times a week. In these groups. you would be learning about addiction and practicing new skills. Their supportive outpatient program is similar, but you spend less time on it each week. It’s suitable for people who are stepping down from the intensive program. There is a relapse prevention program where you meet individually with a counselor to come up with and enact a relapse prevention plan. There are also life skills classes you can take.

Their wide range of program offerings is a plus for anyone who might have more complex mental health needs in addition to their substance use. They have services for people with intellectual disabilities and they offer psychological testing. They have parenting and anger management classes.

There are many health insurance providers that they work with, including Texas Medicaid. If you have no health insurance and have a low income, they have access to state funds that will pay for your addiction treatment with them if you qualify.

Counselors are awesome but there is a problem scheduling. I schedule one time with my counselor and the office lady completely txts me a different time the day before, I m pretty organized and rely on my own schedule to follow so I usually don t do anything but send a confirmation msg the day before even when I don t get a request for one. They are trying now to charge me $70 dollars due to missing an appointment that was moved from 5pm to 10am. Since I didn t notice this on the confirmation txt. I would highly recommend anyone double check their schedules and the txt they send them because half of the time the time you agreed on will be changed and they will try to charge you for their systems mistake. The front office lady also told me she waists her time sending the confirmation txts and she doesn t have to, if you ask me she has to because obviously the appointments you agreed on aren t even correctly in the system. I ll just have to wait a day before to be moved around in the schedule and not be able to plan around it. Very frustrating.

Accepted Insurance

Sigma Counseling Services, Inc works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

The right life skills training will help you build the skills you need for recovery. You'll learn how to solve problems, improve your social life, enhance your mental health, and make good decisions. This is a key component of drug rehab programs in Texas.

Daniel, the owner of this establishment, is very out of touch and it was very obvious to me he was diagnosing me to get more money and sessions out of me. A lot of what I can in for wasn’t even discussed before I was being told to increase session frequency. Do not recommend this office.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Good evening,
As a professional counselor, I am ethically bound to provide a good faith and impartial recommendation based on the individual facts of each situation. It is not uncommon for a counselor and patient to disagree on the end recommendation, however I put a great deal of thought and consideration with each recommendation I make backed by many years of professional counseling experience. It is clear the different perspective ended up making you a certain way. It is never my intent to make any client undergo additional counseling they do not need.

Do not go to this place for drug elevation. Went there court ordered and I had 1 previous issue for drugs aka marijuana when I was 20 for I am 38 and got a dwi. Haven’t smoked in almost 6 years or drank for 2 years. They saw me for less then 10min and asked me less then 15 questions he was confused into why I was there. But then turned around and told my probation officer that he recommended I take IOP Program. Which they have for almost 4000. I am 100% sure he did that because they wanted me to take IOP classes so they can make that money. I want 100% do not recommend anybody go over here. You will get screwed over 100% sure..

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Hello,
I looked into our records and can confirm we have never recommended IOP in the report we provided to you PO. I'm unsure where the confusion came from but hope you are doing well.

The lady who schedules appointments is a scammer and will take your money even if you have to cancel an apt

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Good evening,
We make very clear of our cancellation policies from the very beginning. It is standard process of any healthcare related business to have a policy regarding last moment cancellations. In addition we make frequent reminder notices to remind each client of their appointment time and to provide prior notice should they need to reschedule. When we set an appointment with a client, we are making a commitment to set aside that time and ensure the counselor is available for you exclusively.
