About Damascus Road Recovery
Located in Covington, Georgia, Damascus Road Recovery is a long-term addiction recovery program that helps individuals with drug and alcohol addictions. They make it very clear from the beginning that they’re a Christian, faith-based recovery program and expect participation from their clients in that regard. If you’re okay with that, they certainly have a lot to offer to you.
Overcomers Outreach
Let’s start with their spirituality program called Overcomers Outreach. From what I’ve gathered, this is sort of like a bridge between 12 Step programs and Christian communities. Here, you can get education about chemicals and addiction, as well as receiving some much-needed fellowship during your recovery.
How to Cope
When it comes to handling drugs and alcohol, they offer a pharmacology service that teaches you the effects and consequences of psychoactive chemicals on the mind and body. You’d benefit from individual therapy and group counseling sessions. They even offer relapse prevention in order to teach you how to cope in recovery without having to use any mood-altering drugs. You could also learn how to identify triggers.
Denial Management

I like that they also offer opportunities for recreation and work activity. You’ll be required to participate in a regimented schedule that includes both work and recreational activities. By doing this, you can adapt to daily schedules and learn how to interact with the people around you, helping you become an asset to society.
They also offer 12 Step meetings and family help such as family counseling. There’s also rehabilitation training, financial management, and you’re required to attend church.

Outpatient Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night.
