About Exult Healthcar

Known for one of the oldest historic downtowns in the state, McKinney, Texas is also home to Exult Healthcare. Adults of all ages and adolescents can participate in intensive outpatient treatment for substance use disorders and dual diagnoses. They accept many insurance providers including Optum, Cigna, TRICARE, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Medicare.

With the goal of helping you reach your maximum potential, they provide comprehensive care with proven therapeutic interventions and ongoing support from mental health experts. You can live at home and care for other responsibilities while attending their program. They use a whole-person approach, offering an overall assessment to determine your recovery goals.

You can participate in several holistic and proven therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy, animal-assisted therapy, art therapy, anger management, medication assisted treatment and more. These approaches can help you learn more about the underlying factors in addiction and develop coping skills to address them.

What stands out most to me is their small group sizes. You’ll participate in groups with three to twelve peers. Smaller groups mean more room for personalized care and building solid connections. You won’t only benefit from tailored attention to achieve your recovery goals. You’ll also have a tight-knit environment to open up and connect with peers on similar paths.

Another amazing feature that caught my eye was their holistic approaches. They offer free mindfulness activities and yoga for all clients in their program. These approaches can help you heal your mind, body, and soul while exploring new relaxation and stress relief methods. You can then use these new practices after treatment to promote long-term recovery.

I really feel like the TMS helped me. I was prepared to make the copay at each visit but they rarely charged the copay on the date of service. The charges were inconsistent with the dates and made it impossible for me to double check each individual visit. Half way through I received a bill in the mail. I asked my TMS provider about it and she said I was paid up but that insurance stuff can take a bit to unravel (I work in medical, I know that is true) so I should ignore the bill. I finish treatment, a month later I get a bill. I was told to ignore the first one so I ignore the second one. 2 months after my last visit I check my account to find 7 charges totalling $165. No phone call, no text, no email, but they think they can just treat me like an ATM when ever they feel like it.

As a licensed professional counselor with 30 years in practice, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) is the biggest game changer I have ever encountered. Dr. Barghava s Clinic offers the insurance-covered protocol but also offers the rapid protocol that, to my knowledge, is not widely available yet, for those who choose to private pay. Virtually zero side effects (other than the inconvenience of scheduling 36 sessions) and rapid results - I highly recommend. VERY highly recommend.

Exult Healthcar works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I had the privilege of completing a month-long rotation at Exult Healthcare with Dr. Bhargava as a 4th year medical student going into psychiatry myself, and it was truly one of the most enriching experiences of my medical education. Dr. Bhargava is a remarkable physician and mentor with an unmatched depth of knowledge and true compassion for her patients. The rest of the entire team at Exult also embodies a patient-centered, integrative approach to mental health care. I was consistently impressed by the collaborative environment and the emphasis on treating the whole person when observing IOP, TMS, and Spravato sessions. Whether you’re a patient seeking high-quality care or a student looking for meaningful clinical experience, Exult Healthcare is truly exceptional.

Dr. Bhargava and her team are exceptional. Their genuine care and compassion for their patients are evident the moment you walk into their office. It's clear that they prioritize the well-being of those they serve. Sherhonda and Ngomeni are incredibly skilled at connecting with patients, demonstrating deep empathy and understanding. Sherhonda, in particular, is a truly gifted therapist. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, and treats every client with the utmost respect. I'm incredibly grateful for the outstanding care provided by this wonderful team.

I'm a VA patient, which means my coverage is 100%, I never pay to be seen. They said they wouldn't charge me. They have tried to charge me for being seen 3 times over the last year. Luckily, the card they have on file is an old card. Which means they are being paid by the VA and trying to steal my money, too. Do not come here!

Good therapist overshadowing by horrific billing department that is still taking $$ from my bank account despite not being a patient for months. The billing department will not return calls and will not send me a receipt. They Reported me to collections and still took the $$ from my account anyway. ***Update*** they have now taken a second large amount from my account and I haven’t been there in over a year!!! Contacted BBB and Exult did not respond to their request for information.
