inpatient iconInpatient

The Gate House residential programs are licensed, community-based treatment facilities designed to offer extended time in treatment to individuals who have completed a primary detoxification/rehabilitation stay. They strive to address the bio-psychosocial effects of addiction, and help men and women re-enter the community as productive members of society. The average length of stay is three to six months, and in that time residents can expect to work with the treatment team to address barriers to recovery, while practicing life skills and connecting with local 12-step groups. All counseling and treatment groups are facilitated by professional and credentialed members of the treatment team. Within a safe, supportive, home-like environment, residents are able to focus on and resolve their individual core issues and factors contributing to addiction and relapse.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Research has shown that the longer a newly recovering person remains engaged in treatment and in a supportive, structured, recovery-oriented environment, the better their chances at long-term abstinence. As a result, The Gate House has helped to develop, and manages, gender-separate recovery residences in Lancaster County. Residents may stay for up to one year, while working toward independent living. Residents participate in weekly house meetings and perform household chores as part of a community living environment, and learn to navigate the challenges of early recovery with the help of live-in peer support.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Comprehensive discharge planning includes relapse prevention and continuing care. Post-treatment support includes transitional housing, weekly aftercare group, and an active alumni association.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient services provide the structure, education, and support necessary in early recovery, while remaining in one’s home or transitioning to a new geographic area after treatment. Their experienced counselors will walk clients through the journey of recovery using evidenced-based practices and client-responsive groups. Up to 10 hours of weekly treatment, including family involvement on a weekly basis as appropriate. Structured sessions that emphasize a clean and sober lifestyle, and how to make recovery a priority.
