But dealing with Kolmac from the people who walk you through the process on the phone in the beginning, to the counselors (shout out to Lisa and Katelynn) in group and individual sessions, everyone was absolutely wonderful. All the folks I met in group were the best and in large part due the people I met there I completed the program in such a better place mentally and spiritually I still can’t come up with the words of appreciation to thank them enough! They are great at creating a treatment plan to meet every individual person, and the medication certainly makes it easy to quit drinking. My facilitator, Lisa Stalnaker, is the absolute best. She is so caring and attentive to each and every patient, and really makes the meetings enjoyable, fun, and engaging. I can't say enough great things about her. I highly recommend Kolmac to anyone struggling with addiction. Before starting DBT I had the such a difficult time managing my emotions. I was reactive and frustrated easily but I decided to make a commitment to myself and do 6 months of the program. I noticed such a difference in my behaviour that I signed up for an additional 6 months and finished today. 1 year of DBT has changed my life and I’m not the same person I was before. The building was beautiful and serene, every employee I came in contact with was supportive, non-judgmental, super friendly. There are some people who work a job to sustain themselves and some people who work a job because that's what they were created to do and the people here in my experience all fell into the latter category. Soul Of America 5 months ago My mom got great care at this facility! Some of these reviews were very scary but we experienced more kind and caring communication from the nursing management team. The wound care was exceptional! They have a wide variety of specialist so that mom didn’t have to leave the facility for every little thing. Mom is a picky eater so of course we would bring her snacks or a meal when we visited. But the dietician worked with her preferences and as the days went on and mom learned the facility and they learned her things just kept clicking in place. Then after the wonderful and very patient therapist worked with mom for about four weeks she was able to come home right in time for the holiday! The administrator and his team are wonderful! We can’t thank Autumn Lake Ruxton enough! We have mom back home with us where she is suppose to be! I was skeptical, annoyed, and fully prepared to hate the whole experience. Instead, I ended up meeting some of the realest people I've talked to in years. The funniest part is that a bunch of people from completely different backgrounds somehow ended up in the same place having the deepest conversations imaginable one minute and arguing about the thermostat the next. Recovery is a weird universe. The staff treated me with respect, and Nicole was especially awesome. She actually listened instead of talking at people. A lot of folks there felt the same way. You can tell when somebody genuinely cares and when they're just reading from a script. I also met some great people along the way. People who made me laugh, people who challenged my thinking, and people who reminded me that everybody is carrying something heavy, whether they show it or not. The food was solid, the facility was comfortable, and I got way more out of the experience than I expected. I came in rolling my eyes and left with people I still keep in touch with. No place is perfect, but Tranquility Woods gave me time to think, reset, and meet some genuinely good human beings. I met with my Therapist 4 times a week. I had a weekly massage, acupuncture, great food and met friends for life. It was a emotional rollercoaster, but I was able to start healing from my trauma. She maintained a healthy and safe environment for us to all lean into the process at our own pace and found ways to relate to everyone regardless of situation. My medical/medication management was also all handled via telehealth. I felt heard when discussing my apprehension to some medications and was made to feel like the process to improve my health and the decisions being made around it were collaborative. Katelyn was my individual counselor and assisted me with developing my treatment plan. She is an absolute sweetheart and though early in her career was able to provide guidance and encouragement that felt beyond her years. She was very kind and easy to talk to. Natalie in Pre-op got me ready to go and answered all of my questions. Dr Su and Danny, CRNA were very funny and reassuring to me and put me at ease prior to entering the OR. Dr Zalatimo and Mario spoke with me several times before the surgery as well. Everyone went out of their way to help my husband and I feel comfortable with the surgery process. My nurse in the post-op area, Lori, was so kind and helpful to my husband and I. The transporters, the X-ray techs, the ER techs were all friendly and efficient. I had a great experience at Sinai Hospital, and I would refer anyone who needs a Neurosurgeon to Dr Zalatimo!
