I had an anxiety attack which was bad. Went to IRMC hospital. ER was empty. I was taken down a long darker hallway in a room that led to the bare and small room. Cold. No care had been give. I lay there waiting and 40 minutes later my husband and I decided we needed to leave. Why? I needed emergency care! Where was everyone? What if I had another episode? No sympathy at all from anyone. Nobody felt they needed to check on me??? And a tiny box bare bathroom. It was depressing enough let alone these rooms! And dirty. If there are silverfish in a hospital wash room, getting out that’s disgusting. I’ll never go there again. I’m l spreading my story so others know what to expect there. Complete lack of care. Probably won’t change.

I want to share my experience to the ER of the Indiana regional medical Center. From the beginning when I was entering The ER I was having trouble getting my brother to the door. A staff person rushed out with a wheelchair to help us both in. The triage nurses were both very professional and kind and dealing with me and my brother. When we were taken back to the examination room, the ER nurse was very compassionate towards my brother. He answered all his questions took extreme care and provided excellent treatment. We never felt rushed and made sure my brother was comfortable and understood what needed to be done. The physician assistant was also very compassionate and kind, and answered all our questions and provided the proper treatment. The ER doctor also was very thorough and took his time and answered our questions. I wish again I could thank them all individually. Everyone in the ER were incredible. They showed true dedication to their field and are the best.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Pennsylvania can be helpful to individuals who are experiencing substance use disorder and various mental health conditions. It helps you identify damaging thought and behavior patterns and replace them with healthy ones.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Pennsylvania is an evidence based technique that involves group therapy, individual therapy, and phone coaching. Group sessions focus on learning behavioral skills. Individual therapy gives you the opportunity to apply what you're learning to your personal situations. Phone coaching allows you to call your therapist during the week for help with challenging situations.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing in Pennsylvania gives you the opportunity to share your perspective and explore your ideas and motivation for change. Your therapist will walk you through the four steps of engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning to empower you to make any desired changes in your life.

It is important to process the impact that traumatic experiences have had on your life. During trauma therapy, you and an experienced therapist confront these experiences and the emotional impact it is had. This helps to reduce your symptoms of stress and anxiety and improve your overall mental health and well being.

Couples therapy in Pennsylvania is typically short term treatment that focuses on building skills that lead to positive long term relationship changes. Sessions with the therapist may occur both jointly and individually.

Family therapy teaches individual family members in Pennsylvania the benefits of collectively combating addiction. Therapists help individual members establish healthy boundaries between themselves and their loved one who is struggling with addiction. This helps improve emotional support systems and creates a bond so families work together to sustain long term recovery.

Life skills are the mental and social skills that are necessary to navigate day to day life. Addiction diminishes or eliminates these skills, so they must be relearned and practiced during drug rehab treatment in Pennsylvania.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Incorporating recreational therapy into drug and alcohol addiction programs in Pennsylvania helps you rebuild your life and maintain sobriety by discovering new interests and developing healthy coping mechanisms. Recreational activities can include painting, team sports, and hiking to promote physical and mental health.

We were seen by Dr.Nihar Ghate best podologist you could ever imagine, because he has found the root cause of my mom’s fifth toe nail and did all necessary things to cure it after 10 years of ongoing treatment. At this hospital my mom gone though MRI, X-Ray and biopsy, and the results were quick, and personnel very responsive and attentive!

If you are looking to wait hours on end for service, and when you finally get in the put you in a waiting room to get medical attention. Also wait until you get the bill. They are gonna bill you for everything your worth. This hospital is despicable. The staff here is pretty good. Other than that steer clear of this place at all costs.

I took my adult son to the IRMC ER early.Saturday afternoon. He was in intense pain from a herniated disc. It was obvious he was in a bad situation. We were checked in and told to wait for a nurse to take his vitals. He was in so much pain he could not sit on their hard chairs. I asked a nurse if they could give him a bed. The head nurse came into the waiting room with quite an attitude telling me there is a hospital in Latrobe and Punxsutawney if we were not satisfied with IRMC. I assured her I had no issues other than to make a comfortable place for my son. She told us someone would be with us soon. Several patients came into the ER after we had arrived and were taken before us. I found a hydraulic chair in the former play area. My son found it to be the most comfortable chair in the ER. Once again, the head nurse approached us saying my son could not sit on the chair because he was causing a safety hazard. I informed her it was the only seat that took pressure off my son's spine. Again, we waited until the ER was empty. I approached the desk reminding them my son was in so much pain that his body was spasming. I asked if he could lie on the floor. They indignantly.said No! After 4 hours of this ordeal, they called my son's name and took us in the back to see a.doctor. Another two hours passed with me visiting the nurse's station twice asking for immediate help. Finally, at 7:40 pm, we decided to leave. This hospital has the least amount of empathy and compassion I have ever witnessed. My son was suffering in the midst of medical professionals who chose not to help alleviate his pain. Even the nurses were nonexistent in bringing him any comfort while he waited. This was an extremely troubling encounter with IRMC and their cold, aloof staff.

What a low-grade hospital, which doesn’t surprise me seeing the university it sits right beside. I went to the emergency room last night at 12:30 for a possible blood clot and sat in a waiting room for three hours and never saw a doctor. We finally left and drove to Westmoreland Hospital and I had an IV in my arm and test results within an hour and a half. Why anyone would ever choose this hole as their main provider is beyond me. You’re better off bleeding out in an attempt to get closer to Pittsburgh. And before they put any stupid replies up, there was not one person in the waiting room when we went in or left. Westmoreland Hospital had multiple patients and were still that effective in getting immediate care for such a serious condition. You may want to send some folks down there to learn how to do your jobs right!!!

Er overnight Staff was amazing this is not about them. But to put me in the ICU while uninsured and I was already fine is absurd just to draw blood 3 times and make me stay overnight with nothing hooked up to me is a waste of a bed and time and going to cost me well over $3k for what giving a diabetic insulin?

This hospital has really stepped up in care. Only had issue one time (2020) the last three years. Great staff, blunt, and caring. I thank this hospital for my son being born (threatened miscarriage). There are still some good and bad but thankfully a lot more good than bad.
