Extensive Treatment Options For Addiction

The facility offers multiple addiction recovery services to ensure that you get the treatment that fits your specific needs. Durango Integrated Healthcare has staff members who can coordinate your care to make sure you get what you need to support your healing. Some of the resources they can assist with accessing include housing applications, transportation and food assistance applications.

Durango provides various outdoor activities you can enjoy when you’re outside of your treatment sessions. Some fun options you can consider include river rafting at Whitewater Park or going for a vigorous hike at Fanto Park.

Never thought I would have to post this but the basic necessity of answering a phone call is not the highest priority of this company. I have been calling since Monday trying to get these people of the phone they do not answer and you are unable to leave a voicemail due to the mailbox being full. Many of us do not have the time to go into the office to beg for the front desk to get someone out in the lobby to help with a basic request. Where is the front desk supervisor or is there even one? So upsetting that I cannot rely on my doctors office to answer the phone.

I wasn't gunna leave a review but after my husband called I thought I would. First of all in late May early June I was deathly sick I called axis didn't answer or even have the nerve to call me back. Then wanted to say I was addicted to pain pills ummm what??? You just can't put something like on a person's chart thats not true how dare you. So I went somewhere else that do help you and actually call you back. Then just a couple of weeks ago my husband tried to call and get in about his hip do you think they called or answered the phone nope not at all. Shame on you guys if your gunna have this kind of reputation then you shouldn't even be in business. There are reason why people like us call. Because we need help and you guys have let my family and I down. I will never ever go back to this place even if they were the last place. I understand being short staff but a phone call would have been nice. If I could leave a 0 star I would you don't even deserve 1 star.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.

The right diet balances your body's dopamine levels, which are the natural "happy drugs" of the brain. Nutrition therapy helps you learn the best foods to eat to achieve and maintain this balance, which supports long term addiction recovery.

Nicotine replacement therapy treats your physical symptoms of withdrawal so you can better focus on breaking down any mental or emotional addiction you have to smoking. Options include nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges, as well as prescription inhalers and sprays.

I used to have the best doctor, psychiatrist and dentist here for almost a decade but have a different opinion now days. They have taken my rights away to choose my health care providers, taken away life saving medication and will not return phone calls when i advacate for my own health. Due to a medical surgery at the base of my tail-bone that completely disabled me in the most intense pain ive ever experienced, i was mis-labeled insane or on drugs by the staff here and was harassed by their satellite officethe crisis center. For those medical “professionals” who were not able to distinguish pain and suffering from drug abuse, shame on you… you broke your treaty becoming in becoming a doctor (do no harm) You harmed me greatly Ashland and the staff of the crisis center. You should not be practicing medicine… period. Their association with the axis crisis center and their in-human treatment of the mentally ill and their disregard for constitution rights should be a major red flag for anyone paying attention to what this institution is doing to our community. They’re taking people away. Ill always have a good and kind thought for my primary care providers, you where always very caring, thoughtful and professional with me, thank you

Nice, helpful, I was seen quickly, and they have an awesome juice/sandwich bar downstairs. The view is amazing and there is tons of parking. Best parking in Durango really. I have received kind care so far and the location is outstanding.

I’ve thought about leaving this review a few times but i gave the benefit of the doubt until seeing it’s a pattern. Unfortunately every single time I interact with staff here, they are cold/rude. I’ve witnessed how they talk to other patients and I’ve experienced it myself. I feel bad the team is overworked and understaffed which is a huge stressor on moral. That said, it is not an excuse to treat patients (sick people coming to you for help) as an annoyance. I’ve been on the receiving end of passive aggressive and cold responses. I’ve often felt like they’re looking for reasons to say no rather than providing resources for help. Even if no is the answer, there is a way to deliver the news with compassion. Is there a law that medical office staff must treat people with empathy? No. Is it something I search for in a healthcare provider? Absolutely yes.

In my experience, the level of service provided has been, quite frankly, a waste of both time and resources. The providers I have encountered have shown a lack of engagement, professionalism, and follow-through, leaving me feeling dismissed and unsupported. Rather than receiving the help I needed, I found myself navigating unnecessary hurdles, unanswered questions, and a startling absence of proactive or meaningful care. It is incredibly disheartening that an organization entrusted with the critical responsibility of community health can operate with such inefficiency and apparent disinterest in patient outcomes. Whether due to understaffing, disorganization, or simple lack of accountability, the overall experience reflects poorly on what should be a trusted and reliable healthcare resource. I urge Axis Health System to seriously evaluate the quality of its services and the effectiveness of its providers. The community deserves access to care that is not only available but competent, compassionate, and truly helpful. You guys TRULY SUCK at your job , sincerely Michelle Diaz Company

I’m a patient here and the doctors are awesome. The pharmacy is also great. The glaring problem with Axis is the front desk. They almost never pick up. And if you leave a message they might return your call 5 days later or never at all. How can a building servicing people with mental health issues be this bad at answering the phone? You guys need to find a way to do better here.

Response from the owner

The service here is pretty frustrating. I’ve been a patient here for 3 years and the service has gone unchanged. When you call the office I have never once had anyone pick up. You leave a message and wait 2-3 days before someone calls you back. And if you miss the call it’s a constant game of phone tag. I’ve gotten to the point where I just have to drive up there every single month to request my RX Refill. And then have to drive up there again to pick it up. I keep going back because Mindy Jordeth is absolutely fabulous- she listens to all of my health concerns and makes things happen. Unfortunately she will be leaving the clinic, so I will be leaving too.

Response from the owner
We're so sorry to hear this. If you would like to provide additional information, please call our grievance coordinator at 970.335.2445.
