I admitted to this program reluctant and broken, not knowing if treatment could help me live a life of fulfillment and freedom from addiction. Jaywalker taught me that community and connection could free me from the desperate cycle of addiction that I felt trapped in. The program focuses on a community based approach to recovery. During the program, I went on activity expeditions, played golf on beautiful courses in the area, competed in pickleball tournaments, and hiked a 14er. The Jaywalker Counselors and Staff are there with you and by your side 24/7 to work with you in all facets of your life. The friends I’ve made at Jaywalker are friends I’ll have the rest of my life. I am an interventionist and consultant who helps families find appropriate treatment options for their loved ones. All of the clients I have placed at Jaywalker have had an excellent experience and have grown significantly throughout their time there. Their treatment approach is clinically sophisticated, and also acknowledges that treatment is only a small piece of the puzzle in regards to a lifetime of recovery. That is why they focus so much attention on community integration, which research indicates is what really results in long term change.
Carbondale offers a rich recovery community, and Jaywalker is very much at the heart of that community. If your loved one is in need of great clinical work, meaningful experiences in recovery, and a strong and supportive community. Jaywalker would be an excellent option.

I was a victim of a crime and they had more than a month to get my input. They did not contact me until 4:45 the day before trial the next morning. Their report the next morning included extensive pages of quoting from the defendant in this domestic violence case and it only said that they took my info. Into consideration. Note that this is a domestic violence case in which there was a witness, and the police officers took photographs because I was bleeding from the assault. Because of PIC not taking my information into consideration before their report, the case was dismissed and the perpetrator got off without any consequences. Complete failure of Partners in Change resulted in an abuser getting charges dismissed and myself, the victim being abused again. Do NOT use this company.

These people are just another part of the system that is a business, forcing innocent people to take plea deals to stay in the system and have to pay fees and charges.
My probation officer recommended these people because they will see me the fastest but honestly it's not worth the risk. If it wasn't for the prosecutor actually knowing I was innocent based off the facts I would have had to risk a trial.
The interviewer lied to me, saying she agreed with me and my side of what happened reflected the facts and still gave me a negative report.
Do not put your fate in these people's hands.

It has helped my interior life substantially already. I want to mention two qualities that stand out.
The first was what has helped me the most. I have worked thus far with Alexa Brown who is doing a phenomenal job taking me seriously. I struggle with the impression that the people around me do not, on even the most fundamental level, have any respect for me, and, as I unravel myself in order to heal the parts of myself about which I'm most ashamed, Alexa's unwavering validation has been invaluable. I could not have asked for a person with whom it is easier to speak.
The second was the ease by which I have been able to access therapy. I found it surprising that I could manage to fit anything at all into my schedule, given how much I've struggled to access other forms of healthcare since moving to New Mexico. Many thanks to the staff at New Mexico Solutions for making the process easy.

This is for the adjacent behavioral health:
First therapist was awful but moved away so I guess you won't have to worry about him but they didn't sign me up for another so I was dropped.
Second time I tried again a couple years later but I answered the chart honestly and was deemed "high risk" so I was escorted to the nearby ER and left there and dropped entirely AGAIN. No further appointments, nothing.
I can't trust therapists anymore if this is what they do, like what was the point of signing up, answering the chart and never hearing from them again? I did everything right and this is what I'm met with, it's a joke. So avoid this place and find another if you can.
For the hospital itself, they drew blood that caused swelling in my hand and arm because they couldn't successfully draw blood from my hand first which hurt. Never had that happen before, it freaked me out and caused pain for 3 days. Good thing I asked that they draw blood from my non-dominant hand.
The social worker from this place recommended a psych ward called Haven in ABQ but that place was awful, I was more traumatized as a result from that place. Also if you're flown out, you're on your own in getting back.
The gynecology section is okay though, however I wish they were more modern like having an endometrial ablation procedure.
Also the walk-in clinic is okay, when I had to request medication they went on prescribing that. Some of it is limited though on what they can give.

He helped me come a long way. The front desk are only people too and are actually really nice. I’m going back and forth between the 4 and 5 star because of the intake process because it’s so annoying 😭😂 Fill out 2 packets then make an apt to answer questions (takes about 30-45min) then you make an apt with a therapist. This place is special. I'm glad to be part of the U-turn family! My life has been significantly impacted by the program and relationships at U-turn. While I was there, God showed me the power of humility. He also showed me that even though I SAID I wanted to follow Him and walk in obedience, I would have a LOT of surrendering to do (and still do!) before I was no longer lord of my life. At U-turn, I learned what it means to ABIDE, to truly trust God to meet my needs and to stay at His cross. It was NOT easy, but nothing worthwhile ever comes easily. U-turn helps you get the things that really matter- maturity, sobriety, restoration, new life- fruits of the obedient and faithful follower. I graduated my 1st phase, and while I was there for 2 months i saw and met a lot of men that wanted to change, wanted restoration-but they wanted it on THEIR terms. That's not how God works, He plays second chair to nobody. We have to come to Him on His terms, and we have to live according to His will, not ours and that definitely includes discipleship and spiritual growth. Because of U-turn I gladly seek and follow His plan for me. I no longer live to fulfill my flesh or empty desires, life has been so good and sobriety is just one of the benefits of my new life.
If you're considering this program for yourself or for a loved one, then trust and believe God has you (or them) right where you're supposed to be and that nothing happens "by chance". For one reason or another, U-turn is before you-so I'll finish with this:U-TURN WORKS.😀 Lives are changed and miracles happen everyday at U-turn. God moves through the program, in and around the lives of the residents and you'll literally feel His presence the moment you walk through the ranch's front door. It's a place full of hard work and God's grace. At the ranch they have a belief, that "PRAYER CHANGES THINGS". If you're considering U-turn for yourself or a family member, I encourage you to pray and ask what God wants you to do. If you're honestly seeking Him, He'll leave no doubt in your mind what He desires. Be blessed!
U-turn, thank you for the foundation you've helped me lay. I thank God for allowing me to become a member the family! 😎 God bless you and all the people He brings to the ministry.
