I attend semeron in Gary Indiana. I've been going there for some years now. It took a long time to really get serious about getting clean. The good thing was they allowed me to make those mistakes with compassion and didn't kick me out for not being clean right away. They allowed me to make that decision for myself. My counselor Diane is so wonderful! She's my counselor and my brothers as well , we both attend. She's so caring and really goes out of her way to be compassionate and really makes an effort to meet you "where you are" , which is rare in a person. She deserves the most credit for any success I've enjoyed . She's a miracle worker . And then there's the nursing staff . They really make the place function . They dispense the medication and evaluate you at the window to make sure everythings is ok with you. Again , great people . They do a lot of the heavy lifting. They deal with a lot and still remain friendly and professional . Regina is the boss. LoL. She runs and sort of coordinates everything that happens at semeron. There isn't anyone who could be better this job. If you let her know you have an issue she's on it . Fast. She's super dedicated to making this experience as easy and beneficial to everyone as possible. If you have a question or a problem or any issue really , she's the one to see. She's the brains of the operation, and she's really really good at it . Even the security is helpful and friendly . They are good at keeping away any riff raff or stopping fights or anything like that. But that isn't a major issue at this place . It's a very professional, very clean , compassionate and it saved my life and my brothers too. I love their groups and classes too. I think that's been another reason I'm clean too. They have so many different forms of rehabilitation and avenues of treatment to choose from, it's easy to find something you'll like . It's a great place that is literally the reason why hundreds of people are alive today. They don't get enough credit.

This is the best clinic and the best option for medicated assisted treatment in Gary. There are a few counselors who have been there for quite some time that actually care about their clients. (I.e. Bruce, mike cody, ) this Clinic is not ghetto and they do their best to stop the shenanigans. If you need the help and you truly want the help and you want to use medicated assisted therapy this is the best place to go in Gary. They have a brand new building and have plenty of dosing windows. The only time you will experience a wait is at 5:00 a.m. opening when everyone is trying to get to "work" they will give you takehome doses if you work the program and continually have clean urine screens. It is what YOU make it. The nurse practitioner Michelle vorice is absolutely amazing and a caring great doctor. She has helped me more than anyone. Bruce does a great job as well but is strict because he has so many clients and responsibilities. All in all it is what you make it and you can succeed and so maintenance here.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Persons who require high-level support but who do not wish to leave their homes or communities may enroll in an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Clients typically commit to a minimum of nine treatment hours across three therapeutic sessions per week, but many programs offer up to 20 hours of care weekly. Most intensive outpatient rehabs provide a combination of psychotherapy, recovery education, and holistic care. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is widely available for those in alcohol or opioid recovery.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

For long-term recovery from drug addiction, drug rehab in Indiana is often key. This treatment gives individuals who are struggling with a substance use disorder the tools to manage their disorder and achieve long-term sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I think that the use of methadone here is inappropriate, they just dosage you and don't realize how strong this medication is. I dislike the way they treat their patients.

I have been coming to semoran new seasons treatment center for over 6 years and never in any of those 6 years have I ever have my HIPAA violated or have been treated like the staff is better than me, until today. Diane, someone who is supposed to be a 'trusted' counselor, is someone who instead is a power hungry and unsympathetic human. As I'm being called to the window she tried to block me from going to dose and also made some ignorant comments, then went on to tell my counselor to CONTROL HER PATIENTS! Basically because I didn't let her bully me like she does every one else...oh and Diane didn't like that. Even after knowing what a disgusting person she really is after hearing how she talks to and about people, as I am sitting outside where the group was going on (literally before this had even happened) but after I saw how she acted towards me in a hallway full of people, oh and tried to deny my dose. Like what a miserable human. She obviously doesn't like when people stick up for themselves. She was just dragging addicts in that group and it was nauseating. Even after all this happened in the hallway and patients from that group are saying how this counselor acts like she is better than the patients. I sure don't want anyone or anything like that around me and my sobriety! Being in that type of position and treating people in recovery like that is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself, Diane. Literally the ONLY negative thing I have to say about Semoran. Like I said i have been in the program since August 2019 and I have had a very positive experience with everyone else. Regina is so kind and supportive but also very no nonsense. Michelle, the nurse practitioner has a heart of gold and the best sense of humor, she will always have a smile on her face. Dawn is my counselor and she's amazing, she has worked very hard with me and I have came so far in my recovery. I can always depend on her to be honest with me. Steve, you aren't my counselor but you have helped me through a lot too and i am very grateful for you. This program was the best thing that has ever happened to me. You have to be ready to commit yourself to sobriety and really be done for it to truly work for you. And there are some wonderful counselors to help you. Bruce, Makeba, Vic, just to name a few. Even negative things you can try to take away and make something positive from it. This may have started off as sounding like a negative review, but you can't let one rotten apple ruin the bunch. 🙏🏻

Every nurse is very kind and understanding. If you're willing to put in the work, the results will follow. I thank, Miss Regina, for managing such a wonderful and caring center. I've been attending Semeron ,"New Seasons" for nearly 20 years , BY MY CHOICE! The daily appearance you have to make is what is working for me . However after meeting certain criteria like clean drug test and regular attendance, you will qualify for take home meds so you don't have to show up daily and the better you do the more responsibility they will grant you . But for me it's a scheduled routine that has added stability to my life and forces me to engage with the staff and my counselor, whom I believe is more caring about my treatment than my actual mom ! My counselor is Diane . She is the most caring and genuine person I may have ever met. If I'm honest , she , really is the only reason I'm clean . I would be more upset if I relapsed because it would disappoint her . I've never felt that way about any counselors I've had . Don't get me wrong they were all great people that cared , but Diane is a step beyond . She is separate and feels more like a trusted friend than a counselor , lol . The staff is wonderful, polite and genuinely care about their clients . The negative comments you read are usually from people who , and I'm not speaking badly about them , want to dose and go . I get that . Maybe you work early or have kids that need to go to school . But this place will work with you if you just ask . They've bent over backwards to accommodate for my schedule and always have. You have to understand, this place is required by law to complete certain obligations for your and their protection. Let me be clear , without this place and it's staff , I WOULD BE DEAD !! Another issue I see from people is the crowd . Very rarely will there be a crowd , usually only on holidays or something. My average wait time is 5 minutes. Hardly ever do you wait more than 10 . Again you must consider that so many people need this help . When I joined I was on the edge of being desperate. I had lost my income and car . I had nothing but heroin withdrawal and it was killing me. Can you remember being so sick you can't breathe and the relief you got knowing you have been accepted into this place . If they hadn't taken me , I TRUELY think I wouldn't be here now . And that's why we must remember, all these people are desperate and want help . I realize sometimes the line might get long and you want to get to whatever you have to do but so does everyone else and the times you will have to wait for a long line are far and few in-between. I rarely wait longer than 5 minutes . It's usually in and out and if they are stopping you , then it's because you didn't follow through with your responsibility. Most things they need from you take 5 minutes at the most and don't blame Semeron, blame the government who forces these things . So again , this is a life saving place . Of course you will have obligations..... What did you think . They can't do it all for you . Regina , I'm bad at spelling names , is the director of the facility . She is wonderful and will move heaven and earth to make this work for you . JUST ASK !!!! She is absolutely GREAT at what she does . Don't hesitate to ask her . She will get it done . 10 out of 10 of you ask me , and that's just because I can't put an 11 . Lol. Great place .

I been coming to this place for almost a month now and the has been an issue EVERY SINGLE TIME I go into dose...... I've had 2 days only that I was able to go in, sign in, n dose, there's always an issue wit the nurses dosing clients n issues getting dosed bcuz of paperwork the counselors fail to give u to sign and there's ALWAYS an issue here.....I WOULD NOT EVER REFER ANYONE TO THIS NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE EAXH N EVERY DAY. If u wanna jump thru hoops for a couple hours each n every day u dose then this is the place for u, but if ur looking to wake up n go get dosed this is not that place. I wud giv ANYTHING to go bac to the clinics in Illinois jus to avoid the consistent issues that last a couple hrs at times, what happened to getting dosed n going home??

First of all I'd like to say what did they do to the actual methadone that they give us because I've been there for 10 years going on 11 years and the medicine used to work now I don't know what they have done to it but it has changed it doesn't hold you no matter how high you raise your dose you will still feel the same it has nothing to do with how long I've been there I can tell the difference just by looking at it before it was more like a thicker syrup like substance you literally had to use water to get it out of your cup and now you don't need it at all it pours right out like water I've noticed this for the last couple years they need to go back to the original medicine that they had instead of trying to cut corners and make more money. Oh and please don't tell me you apologize for any inconveniences I might have had and to talk to my counselors because they can't do nothing about it.

The program director at the Gary Indiana off the Dunes Highway facility I can say she truly does care about helping you she dialed every number she could find she talked to everybody she could call and sat on that phone for an hour and a half and finally succeeded when I went here to guest dose and it was all because my clinic would not answer the phone so they could verify
