About Pecan Haven Addiction Recovery Center

Pecan Haven Addiction Recovery Center offers recovery services for adult men and women in Monroe, Louisiana. The facility is staffed with various medical professionals, including registered nurses, mental health technicians and a certified addiction specialist. Residential treatment and medication assisted treatment (MAT) are a few of the services offered at Pecan Haven.

A Structured Routine for Recovery

Clients in the residential program receive 40 hours of individual and group therapy sessions a week. Most of these sessions occur in the morning, and in the afternoon you’ll have personal time to do your assignments and attend recovery meetings.

The campus features some fun amenities such as fishing, basketball and sand volleyball. You’ll be able to enjoy these activities in your free time and during the weekends. It’s a helpful way for clients to destress and learn how to enjoy life without using substances.

When you complete the program and start choosing to find activities in Monroe that you can enjoy, one option you might like is visiting the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge. You can enjoy the relaxing nature scenery and spend time bird watching.

Medication Assisted Treatment in Monroe

Recovery can seem unattainable for clients due to physical cravings and withdrawal symptoms. This facility offers FDA approved medications such as Vivitrol, Suboxone and long acting injectable buprenorphine to manage these symptoms and make recovery easier.

The medical team will determine the medication option most suitable for you based on your medical and substance use history. With reduced physical and psychological discomfort, you’ll be able to focus on learning coping skills and relapse prevention strategies that your counselor will discuss with you.

I would not suggest this place if you are in a relationship. My husband is a Alcoholic and wanted help. The whole time he was there I spoke 1 time to him. I spoke with his counselor and explained to him that I wished to be involved with my husband sobriety, he said yes we can have family sessions. I asked when would I be able to visit he said there is NO VISITATION, only at the one time of family sessions. I spent weeks calling to check on my husband and got nothing. This place mixes men and woman together in groups and outside events and when my husband came out, he told me that he had to get a new life and divorce me. This place ruins a couples relationship when it should be ALLOWING the love ones involvement in there spouse recovery. They may get a person to be sober, but at the same time, they are RUINING another person lifes.. Men should not be in same atmosphere in groups and commutation with woman while in rehab. Know I SUFFER with major depression and anxiety due to this place. If you truly love ur love one, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU SEEKING A DIFFERENT REHAB/TREATMENT CAUSE IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE ALSO.

I attended Pecan Haven several times over the past 2 years. I have struggled with the disease of addiction since I was 18 and I'm currently 29. Each and every time I arrived I was broken and scared for my life in drug induced phycosis from methamphetamine I was treated with the upmost care from the staff to the clients the atmosphere is amazing there. Loving and caring. The staff is a notch above the rest because they have been there too. They know both sides addiction and recovery. I've had three counselors from my multiple times there from Ms.Cassie to Mr.Brad to Ms.Brooke and each one of them gave me tools that I use in recovery today. The last time I went there I was in a prison of my own demons locked in a hotel by myself smoking meth scared to death. I reached out and Mr.Shadley Powell personally came and picked me up and got me in the same night within a hour. They got me placed in awesome sober living where I'm currently doing well and I will always be grateful for my experience with Pecan Haven 5 out 5 stars

Accepted Insurance

Pecan Haven Addiction Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients enrolled in outpatient rehab typically need less intensive supervision and support than those in inpatient care. Clients may continue to work and attend school while participating in addiction counseling and recovery education during the evening, night, or weekend. Clients also often enter intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment immediately upon exiting residential care, which provides them with high-level step-down support as they reintegrate into their homes and communities.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Pecan Haven’s intensive outpatient program is designed to help individuals who are suffering from chronic addiction problems find a way out. Their goal is to assist in the process of restructuring lives through education, accountability, and skills training with qualified professional addiction counselors. Pecan Haven sees addiction as a progressive and fatal disease affecting the sufferer mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Thus, Pecan Haven takes a person-centered holistic approach toward optimal health and balanced living.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs enable participants to focus on their long-term sobriety through rigorous peer support and ongoing personal growth. They engage in regular, peer-directed 12 step meetings and receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected sponsor. Meetings are free, anonymous, and available multiple times a day, 365 days per year in most communities. Though 12 steps of recovery are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't mandatory. Specialized programs are widely available, including youth and family meetings.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step in the addiction recovery process involves flushing all addictive drugs and alcohol from your body while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, this level of care takes into account that quitting your drug of choice cold turkey can be very dangerous once you've become physically dependent. In a medical detox, your team of medical professionals helps to ensure your safety and comfort. Most people transition to an inpatient treatment or maintenance program upon completion.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

While each drug rehab in Louisiana offers unique elements, recovery support often follows a similar pattern. Detox is followed by inpatient and/or outpatient care, then aftercare support is provided once the participant completes the initial program.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

If you undergo cognitive behavioral therapy in Louisiana, you may engage in role playing, face your fears, and learn to calm your mind and body. These techniques are designed to help you recognize unhealthy patterns of thinking and to learn healthy ways of coping with challenges.

When you participate in dialectical behavior therapy, you'll work on recognizing distorted thinking patterns that are guiding your emotions. You'll learn how to change these patterns to eliminate unproductive reactions. This involves developing better coping mechanisms to handle stressful situations.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

If you are struggling with motivation to change, motivational interviewing is designed to help. This method typically involves one or two sessions with a therapist. The technique helps you understand your motivations and empowers you to make changes to reach your goals.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Staff will not communicate with me the husband! They are extremely rude on the phone when I call to check in on my wife. We made the decision to get help and I’m now being excluded from her recovery. I have important uplifting information about an issue that we prayed on to be resolved, prayer has been answered. The rude staff will not allow her to call me to let her know. Im not sure how to handle this provlem with staff. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Joshua W.

Pecan Haven is such a beautiful place. You are constantly working on yourself and there is very little time to get up in your head. There are 4 cabins for women, each one sleeps 8. There’s a washer/dryer and fridge in every cabin, also 2 bathrooms, a walk in shower and a deep-soak bathtub. The food is great and they are generous portions. You can bring snacks/cigarettes with you and your family can drop off supplies at the front desk anytime. I do suggest bringing a jacket, an UMBRELLA and comfortable shoes because you will be doing quite a bit of walking to and from meals, meds and meetings. The counselors and staff have their hearts in their job and genuinely care about you and your recovery. I feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to attend. If you are on the fence about getting clean and sober, take a leap of faith, you owe it to yourself.
