Rayville recovery saved my life. The staff here are some of the very best in the game; and I have no hesitation in referring everyone I know that has a problem to this facility. My insurance lapsed at second chances and they didn t try to help me fix it or anything they just pushed me off to someone else but that was the best thing that ever happened to me because Trevor instantly said let s get your insurance back on track and get you into treatment. I will say one thing there is no excuse these people will take they will jump over any hoop to get you into treatment and onto a better life. I attended Pecan Haven several times over the past 2 years. I have struggled with the disease of addiction since I was 18 and I'm currently 29. Each and every time I arrived I was broken and scared for my life in drug induced phycosis from methamphetamine I was treated with the upmost care from the staff to the clients the atmosphere is amazing there. Loving and caring. The staff is a notch above the rest because they have been there too. They know both sides addiction and recovery. I've had three counselors from my multiple times there from Ms.Cassie to Mr.Brad to Ms.Brooke and each one of them gave me tools that I use in recovery today. The last time I went there I was in a prison of my own demons locked in a hotel by myself smoking meth scared to death. I reached out and Mr.Shadley Powell personally came and picked me up and got me in the same night within a hour. They got me placed in awesome sober living where I'm currently doing well and I will always be grateful for my experience with Pecan Haven 5 out 5 stars

Pecan Haven is such a beautiful place. You are constantly working on yourself and there is very little time to get up in your head. There are 4 cabins for women, each one sleeps 8. There s a washer/dryer and fridge in every cabin, also 2 bathrooms, a walk in shower and a deep-soak bathtub. The food is great and they are generous portions. You can bring snacks/cigarettes with you and your family can drop off supplies at the front desk anytime. I do suggest bringing a jacket, an UMBRELLA and comfortable shoes because you will be doing quite a bit of walking to and from meals, meds and meetings. The counselors and staff have their hearts in their job and genuinely care about you and your recovery. I feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to attend. If you are on the fence about getting clean and sober, take a leap of faith, you owe it to yourself.

I have spent a lot of time and trips to several of the VAs of La. A lot with my brother and on my own and with a dear friend of my father. I ve had one bad experience 40 or more years ago and that was in Jackson Ms. I ve watched my brother die recently and as I look back l saw only respect and professionalism. I ve had several visits recently and in years past. I have only complaint and that would be trying to do anything by phone. The Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandra have been great. On several occasions when asking for directions l would be shown not told how to get to a location . When I thru they maybe waiting to show you the destination. I say THANK YOU for your service ! They sometimes are treated badly and talked down to . I l give them a ##### five star even if you have to deal with the phone cluster!!M

I have been going to the Monroe VA Clinic since it opened around July 2009. Before they moved into the new clinic, I went to the VA Clinic that was out on DeSiard Street near Swartz for about 5-6 years. I have had both good and bad experiences over the years. For the most part, good. I agree that sometimes the wait can be excessive especially when you have a set appointment and are not a walk-in. Some of the doctors take too long with patients, while their other scheduled patients sit and wait on them for hours. Of course, if they are short-staffed the wait is going to be longer, but this is not something that we should take out on them. And alternatively, the employees should not direct the stress that they experience toward Veterans or each other when this happens. It's a hit and miss. I have experienced the best and worst sides of the Monroe VA Clinic, but for the most part my care has been exceptional and most employees I have encountered have been respectful and always thank me for my service. There is always room for improvement not only in this particular clinic, but with some of the employees and also within ourselves. After all, no one is perfect and neither is the VA System. It's about adjusting and adapting to any situation and making the best of it. I will add that sometimes I may get upset about the wait time, but, my health is much more important than the wait time and my doctor is extremely thorough when it comes to my care.

We just completed one a few days ago on how great Dr Christopher Bernaise and his staff are and how much Angel loves him.Dr Bernaise s rating is not just good, he is great. Longer programs are more effective and they reunited me with my child and I have had full custody of him for over 4 years now. This is the longest I've ever been clean from drugs 5 years now. I went to treatment here for about 4 months. I LOVED IT. I learned so much there, about addiction, parenting, how to be a decent human being etc. The staff are amazing.. they really go above and beyond, EVERY DAY, for their clients. Both of the Amys do such a great job at teaching the core classes and counseling to work on specific issues that have impacted your life. It s a trauma informed environment. It s also a sanctuary environment. I highly recommend IFW to any woman wanting help with her substance abuse issues because this place seriously changed my life. 100%.
