Immediate Support in Crisis

Pine Woods specializes in offering support during mental and behavioral health emergencies. This care plan will be used to help stabilize the individual and start them on the path toward recovery from substance abuse.

The center currently accepts private insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare. For those who aren’t able to afford the copay costs or don’t have insurance, Pine Woods offers payment assistance programs to ensure that everyone is able to access the care they deserve, no matter their income or insurance situation.

The lady Tracey that answers at the front desk, will not allow you to speak. Over talks every time you try and get a syllable out and only hears half of what you re saying. She will follow up with , Does that make sense? No Tracey, you don t make sense! You have to listen and be patient with the family checking on their loved ones. I assure you, after a few minutes with this woman, you question if you made the right decision about placing a loved one here. There has to be better options in Griffin. Extremely frustrating!!

I had always heard bad things about Pinewoods. Staying there helped save my life. In the WellStar hospitals, people have to wait three days to be sent out -- Pinewoods makes that easier, you don't have to go anywhere but Pinewoods. They are open 24/7 days a week. You also can bypass being treated like a barnyard animal, wearing scrubs and using a paper blanket to cover up with. If the nerves are bad with a Patient, the last thing they want to be is in an isolation cell, hear others screaming in the cell next door, and feel judged by the sitters and doctors. As long as you don't go out there and act foolish, (due to fear or anger) You are treated with kindness and respect. Thanks to Pinewoods Staff.

My recovery started here. Wonderful place. I came in with nothing but a hat and a dead cellphone, wearing only hospital paper clothes. The techs made sure I had clothes and shoes when they took me home and they helped me with a 30 day supply of medicine. I learned a lot in group therapy and they made it fun. Thanks Pinewoods, from the bottom of my heart.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Some staff here are decent, but others have no business working in mental health. Security would instigate fights with vulnerable patients. A Black female nurse with colorful hair was telling a patient to harm another patient. Some female staff flirt with patients and spread gossip. This place felt more toxic than therapeutic.

Kyia W A case worker at Pinewood went above and beyond the call of duty to help with a new patient , my friend George . Her efforts secured placement for George in a program that will get him headed in right direction. Her efforts might of saved his life.

If I could give 0 stars, I would; especially for the case manager named Yasmin. She's a prime example of why not everyone needs to be in social work or health care. I brought a loved one through a court order to try and get her help. I had concerns I wished to address but was dismissed by Yasmin and given the run around by everyone else.

Laughable how inconsiderate, incompetent, and invasive the treatment is here. Don’t come here unless you want extra trauma on your plate.

First off I really had good vibes about the place. I brought a very good friend here on July 24 th , she genuinely needed a good place that would of treated her better than what this place offered her. Drug addiction is a disease. These ppl who work here has no respect for any human facing addiction. I drove 3 hours away to take my friend to rehab because she was ready to change that lifestyle for good. I get her there at 7:30 in the morning to McIntosh to find out she'll need to detox, that's all fine we figured that. So we drive to pine woods and she has to fill out all this paper work and the lady behind the desk is so rude and hateful " are you done with your paper work yet " she says to my friend. After all the paper work was done she takes the drug screen. Remind you she's here on her on free will because she's ready to change. She'll finish detox in a week then go straight to rehab for how ever long. Pine wood takes her and then starts treating her like a prisoner and down right hateful. Saying she can only have so many items of clothing. Blah blah blah. We understand she can't have a cellphone. We drove 3 hours away she gets done here she'll go straight to rehab which was only 15 minutes away. She only had 2 bags of things, they made her cry. The way the man who works there talked to her before I had to go was just so hateful. I left and just before I started my truck up this lady walks out and said she needed my number. I wrote the number on a piece of paper and left. I get home to find out my friend left the detox center at pine wood. Now what the problem was is if the staff would have been trained the proper way on how to talk to ppl with addiction then possibly this place wouldn't have such bad reviews. You took something from this woman that she needed and was ready to change. She'll never trust another place like this ever. Learn how to talk to ppl and if you can't then step down so someone with a better mentality can take over before the doors get shut down from pinewood in Griffen GA.

I am so thankful for the staff at this location. My daughter was in crisis and finally made the decision to see help. She came out revived with a vision and plan for life and how she can cope with her BPD. It’s been a week since release and she is still on track making better choices.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE…. My brother is going thorough a mental crisis & we went to seek help for him. ALL THE STAFF WAS VERY DISMISSIVE & acted like they didn’t give a damn about what was going on. The director came out and she was very rude and told us they couldn’t help him even though it’s a freakin mental crisis center. She was very unprofessional & looked like she was using substances herself. They need to be shut down or needs new staff. Everyone of them acted like they didn’t want to deal with it. Even though he was having a breakdown in front of them. I even told them he tried to hurt himself and someone else and they completely dismissed it. So again if u have a loved one.. DO NOT BRING THEM HERE FOR ANY HELP, because u will get turned away. They have no passion whatsoever & Yu can tell it’s just a job to them & they are strictly there to collect a paycheck.
